THANK YOU for 8K guys ❤ Your love and support truly mean the world and I can’t wait to continue sharing these chaotic adventures with you all. The bell ringing that you hear in the background periodically is actually other players ringing the first bell of awakening. You can hear other people progressing through that point in the game in their own world.

Dark Souls has equipment load penalties similar to Elden Ring. There are 3 dodge speeds available depending on how heavy your equipment load is. Fast roll is love, fast roll is life.
Nice! Very curious of your journey. I really hope that people willnot spoil ANYTHING this time, but...you know, internet. Oh, and now that we changed the game, instead of "fear the old blood" let's just go with "Yes. Indeed."
Something to keep in mind, Mati. Damage types can make a difference against some enemies. Similar to Bloodborne where serrated weapons would do more damage to beasts, blunt weapons can do more damage to skeletons. There are other examples in Dark Souls, but I'll let you figure others out. Have fun!
@@AlexAlex-fv2wk It depends on the type difficulty you're talking about. DS3 has the more easier levels to go through, but the enemies and bosses are substantially more difficult.
@@jimmyj5703 I never saw an option to change the difficulty on DS3. It was always on Get Good Scrub for me... lol I'm just saying compared to other games like Bloodborne, sekiro, and elden ring. Ds3 was kinda easy until you got to dlc. Dlc definitely ranked up the difficulty
This should be quite fun. I have a tip about something that I screwed up in my first playthrough. Without spoiling anything here. There is an item that you will obtain. Be careful when using it because it is like other items but it has an alternate purpose that is extremely helpful
@@brandonball5971 lol no. Bloodborne is probably the better game all around but Dark Souls 1 has higher highs and lower lows. Level design and map design alone in DS1 is unmatched.
Super hyped to see you play this game and finally begin to experience the legendary trilogy that is the Dark Souls series. I would advise you to do your best to soak up the lore: pay attention to dialogue, read item descriptions and carefully inspect your environment to parse out the environmental storytelling that's on offer. I know you're going to watch and react to some story breakdown videos after beating the game - and you should! - but figuring some things out for yourself or putting in the legwork to understand will only cement the story and themes of this world in your mind that much greater. I emphasize this with the knowledge that you'll be playing all 3 games; while 2 is a bit of a diversion story-wise, and the black sheep of the trilogy, it still has deeply rooted connections to this world and expounds upon the themes explored in this game, and 3 is just a picture perfect ending to the series in every way: from the way it ties back to the 1st game with references and surprises that usurp your expectations for those references, to the final boss of the base game being a truly 'come full circle moment' and the final boss of the last DLC being the absolute distillation of what the Dark Souls universe is and is trying to convey. You're embarking on a journey that most of us have taken before, and our eagerness to embark on that journey again, with you, speaks not only to our enjoyment of your personality and your videos but also the legacy of these games and their place as monoliths in the history of video games. So please, take it as slow as you need, absorb it all, embrace the confusion and the disorientation and enjoy the game!
I’ve never been so excited to be hungover like a wet towel on the rack, waking up at 3PM to a BRAND NEW EPISODE OF A BRAND NEW MATIAS SERIES WOOO! Lets get it!! 🎉
I've been waiting since you almost finished ER for this series to start! Some tips I think will help you and some stuff you should know: 1. I'm pretty sure you are fat rolling or are doing a medium roll. You probably will have to level up endurance a bit to allow you to wear medium to heavy sets without issues. Light rolls are by far the best for damage immunity and it feels much better overall so if you can, try to have light rolls, Medium rolls are fine too but not as good. 2. I would avoid using offensive magic or pyromancy throughout this run because it is very strong and can make a lot of boss fights easy which ruins the challenge/experience. The spells in this game aren't balanced super well so a basic fireball spell can easily kill a boss after a few hits. However defensive spells that give personal damage buffs, resists, etc are super useful and don't really ruin the experience. To compare it to ER, most offensive spells are like using the Black Knife Tiche summon which makes the game much easier. 3. Parrying in DS1 is really useful and something you should learn. You should try to parry right as an enemy swings towards you and not when they are about to hit you. It's really weird but you'll understand what I mean once you do it more. Make sure to pause after you parry for like .2s then light attack up close to do the critical. Something else you can do is also circle enemies and just backstab since the AI turns slower than other games. Try it out on the basic enemies in Firelink Shrine. 4. When you use humanity, you lose it on death just like souls. You can use humanity to kindle bonfires that you use which gives you extra flasks when you rest at that specific bonfire or you can reverse hollowing. 5. Reverse hollowing is basically you turning back into a human which opens you up to being invaded by other players and special NPCs in certain areas. It also increases item discovery as well from what I remember. I would recommend that if you want to fight certain special NPC invaders and want to use reverse hollowing, you should play in offline mode. Unfortunately there are a lot of hackers in DS1 and it really sucks to lose humanity/souls to something like that. I actually was invaded by a naked hacker who beat me to death when I was near firelink and just starting to play through the game like you! 6. Attunement effects how many spell slots you have. 7. There isn't any way to respec your character in DS1 so make sure you use your levels wisely. There is a way to duplicate souls really easily if you really wanted to make a restated character but you would obviously lose out on all the items you had and have to recollect them and fight all the bosses you fought too. Anyways I hope some of these tips help and I am so excited to watch you go through this game! Keep up the great content and I can't wait for the next episode!
@@chillcharity7610 Someone else prob said something by now anyway but would you consider tail a spoiler or a mechanic? (I think that is vague enough if seen)
Im so glad I found your channel. Your personality is so positive! Dark Souls 3 was my first EVER Souls game, and since then I've played every SoulsBorne game and spinoff there is from FromSoftware. Im also absolutely OBSESSED with the lore of Dark Souls. I could probably even recite it all from memory lol. Im a big Dark Souls girly for sure!
I really liked the ''oh that's the uhm... sites of grace, or lamps?...'' when for a bunch of others it's, for every other FromSoft than DS, every checkpoint is a bonfire^^ Enjoy the discovery man!!
Excited for the series! I watched all your Elden Ring videos but stopped after the first couple Bloodborne episodes since I decided I want to play it first. I'm halfway through DS1 myself and going to be pushing myself to stay ahead of you! Very cool to see how much the channel has grown, so happy the Bloodborne series was so well received.
I don't think master key is the best for first players You'll just open doors to places before you are strong enough for the enemies in that area Just increase how many ways you can get lost. Best item for second plays though
Finally, the nostalgia hits hard... can't wait for the late game where game goes from like 40 to 100% real quick. Also remember about weight limit, it's so annoying in DS Remastered, the less you weight, the faster are dodges (You're currently doing MID ROLL), sometimes I would just go naked on a boss fight so I can beat him hah. Also the weird thing about Dark Souls 1 is that you can dodge only in 4 directions (UP, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT), that means: no diagonally rolling.
Pointy weapons against skeletons is like trying to shoot them with arrows, which is not a good idea. You need a crushing weapon 💪🏼 PS you can also try to remove some armor just to experience how it feels like not being heavy 😉
So stoked for you to go on this journey man. I hope you enjoy it! This was the first Souls game I ever played and it holds a special place in my heart.
One of the very few people that I actually thoroughly enjoyed watching play this game. You didn't talk nonstop over the opening, nor bother with having a chat to talk to whilst ignoring key moments in the game. A++
Mati, I gotta say man...for whatever reason vicariously playing these games for the first time again through you has been such a treat! I've seen plenty of playthroughs and none of them are as entertaining as yours.
Congrats on 8k! Saw a few of your bloodborne videos and you seem like a swell guy, so you know I'm subscribing and turning those notifs on 💪 Now I haven't seen the video yet, I just clicked on it and am currently in the character creation section, but I cannot wait to see how you go about this game! I ain't much of a dark souls player myself, but I really liked the way you went about playing in older videos, and this already feels like a fun series. You're gonna do amazing sir, and good luck!
Noooo the master key bypasses what makes the level progression special on first playthrough, smh People who recommended it just want to see your funny reaction of walking into a higher level area and getting your ass beat, but there's plenty of that already without the key Edit: Noooo you killed Oscar :( Edit: You got a bonus estus in Firelink because someone else playing online at the same time kindled their Firelink bonfire. There are many other pretty neat hidden online mechanics in this game. Like that bell sound for example. Edit: This was an epic start my man, can't wait for the next one! I hope you enjoy the game, this one is truly special it literally created a whole genre and transformed the game industry. Out of all souls games, this one has the most mind-blowingly well connected world design, you'll see soon enough
Having started my FromSoft adventures with this game when it released back in 2011 it's always fun to see people experiencing it for the first time. Never ever level resistance, it's a useless stat Attunement slots is how many spells you can have equipped (attuned) at one time The circle next to your life and stamina bar is your soft humanity, you can consume it to restore your humanity at a bonfire, and to kindle bonfires (can only be done while human). Kindling a bonfire will get you five more estus charges every time you sit down or respawn at that bonfire. Soft humanity is usually gained by consuming humanity items, but it's not the only way. If you find any fire keeper souls, do NOT consume them. Trying to not say too much here, but they have another, far more useful purpose.
Here we go son! Where it all began (not counting Demon's Souls) Excellent game. I just beat it again because of you. So thanks homie. Tips, any black knight weapon is dope. You are mid rolling, actually. Last, FS has 'principles', I guess you could say. Such as, if it feels like too much, you're prob not supposed to do it yet, etc. Enjoy!
Just found your channel, and I’m hyped on your adventure in Dark Souls! I’m gonna watch your Elden Ring videos while I wait for the next DS episode A sub from here!
Quick update on the stats: Vitality = health Attunement = magic spell slots (like memory stones in Elden Ring) Endurance = stamina AND equip load Strength and Dex are the same as all the other games (I'm a dex scrub myself) Resistance = resistances against poison and stuff, WASTE OF TIME DO NOT INVEST IN Intelligence = magic damage Faith = Faith damage EG lightning and stuff DS1 is very forgiving with its levels, many things will level up multiple things too as far as I can remember. Humanity works slightly like Insight in Bloodborne, you can use it to revert to human form. Once in Human form you can access multiplayer but more importantly you can use another humanity to Kindle a bonfire, which gives you 10 flasks instead of 5. (this can also be upgraded later in the game to 20 but don't worry about that for now) As far as I can remember you can not respec in this game either but I might be wrong.
I should also mention that having used humanity you get a lil number next to your health bar, the higher the number the more Luck you will have with finding items. But you will lose all of those on death, so personally I wouldn't have it very high. Drop rates are not that important in this game.
Although you'll never get that first playthrough experience again I still sat here yelling NOOOOOOO!!!! at my screen repeatedly lol. I loved it. Nice video.
There was an X on when the spear was equipped, so you lacked some of the stats to wield it properly. (You did like 2 points of damage that's similar to the broken weapon you get in the beginning of the game.) Dual-wielding it might help. Also, no need to use humanity items unless you want to be in human form, kindle bonfire or farm for item drops. As you lose all humanity when you die (unless you manage to get it back via bloodstain) it's harder to have it ready when truly needed unlike - say - insight in Bloodborne.
When you had the spear equipped, there was a red X next to it by your equipment in the bottom left of the screen. That means you don't have the proper stats to wield the weapon. That's why it was only doing 2 damage. Something to watch for when you try out new weapons in the future! Another tip about weapons that'll become relevant a bit later: Weapons can and will break in this game. BB did have that mechanic as well, but you could repair things in the workshop. In this game, you'll need to buy a Repair Kit from a blacksmith once you find one. That'll let you repair things on the go. Otherwise, you might be trapped in the middle of an area with a broken weapon. I learned that the hard way on my first playthrough :')
Sweet! have an open mind with this one man, it might not have the fast and agile combat ER and BB have but its lore is absolutely outstanding and its map design is unmatched, the closest is BB and even BB falls short, and no its not a joke, this game is a gem. Hope you enjoy it! Looking forward to seeing you play!
A personal favourite of mine, it's slower but the atmosphere is just unbeatable and the combat is slower but so much more methodical than Bloodborne where you can rely on dashing through most attacks. I love both for completely different reasons and hopefully you will too!
Much success on the new adventure. It shows on your first encounter against asylum demon how long you've come, no panic rolls, learning the moves and so on so I think you are set for a good start. As you said, DS is way more slow so that takes a little adjustment specially if you come from ER and Bloodborne
Can’t wait for the rest of this series, can already tell you’re gonna love it! Just so there’s not another Oscar situation, NPCs in this game tend to stand or sit still. If it’s running or walking at you, or you recognise it as an enemy, feel free to attack but generally you don’t wanna kill NPCs. If you’re unsure, try locking on everywhere, you can’t lock on to friendly people. There’s a LOT of beloved characters in this game so remember to exhaust all their dialogue! If you’re wanting the game to feel a little faster I recommend levelling endurance some more to get a better equip load or taking some armour off so you’re less than 25% equip load, the roll you get is much faster and worth it imo. From Firelink you currently have 3 possible directions to go, but 2 are a little high level for you right now, I recommend going up. Tip: get a repair box ASAP, will save a lot of pain in the long run.
Awesome! I was actually sad when I heard the end music play hahah, very nostalgic game for me, and not only your video itself is very nice and fun, but also brings back memories of how I felt at first (like being very afraid of the crow hah) that I forgot after getting so used to these games. Luckily (?) I'm late and there's a new vid lol. Once I play/finish Bloodborne I'll surely re watch that series too! Ah y no sabía que tu 1er idioma era el español, el mío también jaja (perdón por el comentario doblemente atrasado, debí hacerlo en el vid de Q&A. Si no se lee, pues lo comento en un siguiente). Excelente ver a tu canal crecer!
Gracias Kev! Tranquilo aquí funciona igual 😁 This game is amazing bro I’m so glad it got picked out next it’s a pain to get used to but if i’m having fun now I can only imagine what’s it’s gonna be like once we get the hang of it! All the best with Bloodborne one if not the best game I’ve ever played haha. All the best 🫶🏽
@@matiasgago my total playtime was 46 hours. I went for all bosses. but i was also looking at youtube every once in a while for where to go for certain bosses. so i feel like atleast a few hours have been afk time
Great video man! As pointed out by others, be mindful of the master key. It can open passages to areas you may want to visit later in the game (it basically unlocks shortcuts to high-level areas).
I always love when YT randomly recommends me people who are starting games like the souls series or Skyrim for the first time. That on top of the other games you have on your channel and being funny and entertaining. Think I’ve found yet another creator to add to the sub box. I laughed so hard when you killed Oscar unprovoked 😂 of course I had seen you were doing ds2 so we all know I had to start with this one first
Well, that was some timing on joining that covenant. 2 things happened at the same time. 1) well, you joined a covenant 2) another player kindled s bonfire, which gave you one extra estus. Edit: the firelink bonfire gave you the other 5 since it was already kindled. Yes, kindling a bonfire makes that specific bonefire give more estus
At long last, the one that started it all! It's both amazing, legendary (creator of an entire subgenre of RPG "the souls-like games"; and a game that reshifted the industry towards harder games "the dark souls of...") and a tiny bit dated, especially if like me you started with Bloodborne and DS3, two games that perfected FromSoft formula. With you having started with ER and then BB, you'll need to accept this is more challenging and more of a game changing of its time than an actual game that can be enjoyed entirely. But yes, it does have its moments for sure! And the atmosphere and NPC we love were already there from the get go! Enjoy my man!
Man im hyped for this! One difference to Eldenring is, there is actually 3 types of rolls in this game, fast roll, medium and heavy. The fast one actually comes close to the speed of later games
Humanity is useful for a few things. Once you've "absorbed" it, the big fat number next to your health bar tells you how many you've got active at the moment. The more humanity you have active, the higher your defenses and item discovery (capping at 10 humanity). Plus, to be in human form (not in shrivelled corpse form), you always need to use one humanity at the bonfire (reverse your hollowing). Kindling bonfires also only works in human form, and is super useful. It basically burns one of your active humanities to level up your bonfire, increasing the number of Estus Flasks you'll get from resting at that specific bonfire by 5. Right now the maximum is 10 Estus Flasks per bonfire, later you can kindle bonfires to receive up to 20 Estus Flasks (after the "secret rite"). Also, you can only summon (and invade) players or NPCs when in human form. Careful though, being in human form also opens you up to being invaded. Oh, and once you die, your active humanities stay with your souls. If you die again before retrieving them, sadly both humanities and souls are lost.
This is the video that introduced me to your channel and holy shit have you come a long way. I have been saving up some money to hopefully give you a donation because you were literally my source of entertainment when I was going through a really rough period of my life. I am so happy I found your channel. You probably won't even see this but to everyone else who may see this, this man is a legend.
Thanks for this video. The Master keys basically the speed runner strat, to skip parts of the game and the old Witches ring is to access otherwise hidden story, though there's a laborious way to obtain it in game, by backtracking somewhere and trading another item to a feathered friend. the "No effect" trinket is a dev troll (no-one belived them) and everything else is a consumable or the binoculars. People general pick either the Key, ring, or the bombs, to speed kill the 1st boss.
This was the one that started it all for me. The original back on xbox 360. HATED it lol didn't understand how this game could exist, wanted to through my controller out the window, etc. Moved on to ds2 and fell in love. Then went to back to 1, and ever since been a massive souls fan, even to the point where I have actually gotten 100% completion on all the souls games, including Elden ring, all except for Sekiro. (Plat). These games mean so much to me and the lore....oh my gosh the lore. No other game imo has the same amount of depth lore wise as the souls games do. Vatti of course is the best for lore imo. Can not wait to see you experience most peoples first souls game, and have a blast. Hope you enjoy it. And we are always here to help! No spoilers chat! Also, keep up the amazing work man! You are awesome, and your channel is great!
Loved this. I remember playing through this for the first time, after bloodborne and DS3, so it felt slooow. But playing it through it’s obvious how important a game it’s been for fromsoft. It’s so good. Albeit showing it’s age a bit. You’ll love it by the end of your first playthrough.
First video I've watched of yours and it's pretty good man. Look forward to watching you play kind of nice to see someone play without much knowledge about the game. Was crazy the first time I played ds1. Earned a sub!
I found your channel last week when watching Bloodborne videos, loving that your gonna be playing Dark Souls Remastered, I recently just started a new game myself!
Congrats on the 8K and on starting the game dude! Trust me, this game will hit you with a lot of those “Oh whoops, shit… classic!” moments lol. My best spoiler-free advice is to believe when veterans say the game is ALWAYS tough but fair, if you are grinding the stone too hard on some things, the game may be trying to tell you something. Reading is also key. Can’t wait for what’s next!
Been a while since I played DS1. Good to see someone new playing it. If you have questions about some things (covenants, humanity, kindling, etc.), please do not hesitate to ask. I don't think it is well explained in game and these can be important mechanics to be aware of (wait until you get to Demon Souls. There is a whole system that is not explained at all).
Oh I am excited for this.... Adventures in Lordran... and tips with no spoilers... what's a shield for? wearing on your back to boost stats otherwise just added weight.....attunement is how many spells you can use... poise actually works.... weight effects how fast you run and roll... I guess enemy weakness so like blunt, pierce, slash is more relevant in DS more then ER.....
Glad to see you start another. Honestly, your lets plays are some of the most entertaining Bloodborne let's plays I've seen on youtube. So I'm glad to see you play another that I too have played. And looking forward to see you humbly make my efforts seem pittiful in comparison. =)
Mati: " I have no idea what is humanity, but I am sure they will tell us" Me: Ohhhhhh......this is going to be a trip. The training wheels is coming off with this game.
yes ! :D I have been waiting for this. I really hope you enjoy this game as much as you did bloodborne. Edit. You should play around with different Equip Load percentage 👍
Hell yes! So excited to watch you playthrough another FromSoft game! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did on my first playthrough! A few tips: 1) Unlike Bloodborne where when there are multiple directions open to you, you can take any of them with no thought given to your level. But in DarkSouls, the developers give you an intended direction that will better leveled for you at the beginning of the game. I mention this because while the area with the skeletons is a great place for training/getting used to the mechanics, they are at a much higher level than you. So you may have a lot of difficulty to begin with if you choose to go that way. You may find more success in progressing if you search around more in Firelink Shrine. But of course, your journey is up to you. And 2) There are 0 chances to reset your stats in the game. So make sure you research soft/hard caps for each of the stats you plan on using. Unlike Elden Ring, it’s VERY difficult to do a little of everything in your first playthrough (while learning the mechanics). So pick a weapon/build you like and stick with it. If you want some early game weapon recommendations, say so in the next video and I’m sure some of us will reply with our favorites.

Actually really excited for this. DS1 is a game you really need to experience. Let's go!!!!
Excited for this brand new adventure 😈
It's garbage compared to his most recent game he just completed.
@@brandonball5971 🧢
@@brandonball5971 deluded
@@brandonball5971 lol no. Bloodborne is probably the better game all around but Dark Souls 1 has higher highs and lower lows. Level design and map design alone in DS1 is unmatched.
Can people please stop give our man advice on where and where not to go. Finding out yourself is part of the experience.
Lovely to see all the rookie mistakes being made immediatly
Kinda went off on the mistakes lmao best way to learn 😁
LMAO I love this! Happy recovery boss
I've been waiting since you almost finished ER for this series to start!
Some tips I think will help you and some stuff you should know:
Great post here about the mechanics and I don't feel like any experience or story is spoiled by it.
@@Slantwalker thanks I was hoping it wasn’t spoiling anything and would be helpful
@@chillcharity7610 Someone else prob said something by now anyway but would you consider tail a spoiler or a mechanic? (I think that is vague enough if seen)
I’m hyped for this. I see the title and I click. I’m here 1,000% for it and you. Best of luck cheers from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪
Hell yeah thank you Kenzie! Shoutout to Ireland 🫶🏽
I really liked the ''oh that's the uhm... sites of grace, or lamps?...'' when for a bunch of others it's, for every other FromSoft than DS, every checkpoint is a bonfire^^
Enjoy the discovery man!!
Hell yeah I appreciate you brotha! And chop chop im coming for ya haha
PRAISE THE SUN!!! really looking forward to this 🤩🤩🤩
LETS GO!!! 😁
A souls game and a let’s player who’s chill and not exaggeratedly loud. Subbed. Looking forward to this.
I don't think master key is the best for first players
You'll just open doors to places before you are strong enough for the enemies in that area
Just increase how many ways you can get lost.
Best item for second plays though
Yeah, I don't know why so many people suggest that. It's annoying.
You can roll any way you want if you aren't locked on. Many players use this fact to great advantage.
this is the best intro i've seen so far from FromSoftware games! cannot wait to play it
Pointy weapons against skeletons is like trying to shoot them with arrows, which is not a good idea. You need a crushing weapon 💪🏼
PS you can also try to remove some armor just to experience how it feels like not being heavy 😉
So stoked for you to go on this journey man. I hope you enjoy it! This was the first Souls game I ever played and it holds a special place in my heart.
So far loving it my dude can’t wait to fully feel comfortable in it 😁
I just bought this today. Stoked you have a playthrough I can follow along with!
std bomb: "Herpegonosyphilis I choose you!"
On a better note excited for the new series!
Yessss I'm extremely excited for this honestly. Just got back in town and I'm hit with this gold! love it man. Wish I could go back to my first time.
Let’s goooo love to hear it brotha 🫶🏽
One of the very few people that I actually thoroughly enjoyed watching play this game. You didn't talk nonstop over the opening, nor bother with having a chat to talk to whilst ignoring key moments in the game. A++
Your appreciation for the character select music was appreciated! Also turning the music up one notch, a man of culture
Mati, I gotta say man...for whatever reason vicariously playing these games for the first time again through you has been such a treat! I've seen plenty of playthroughs and none of them are as entertaining as yours.
Congrats on 8k! Saw a few of your bloodborne videos and you seem like a swell guy, so you know I'm subscribing and turning those notifs on 💪
Now I haven't seen the video yet, I just clicked on it and am currently in the character creation section, but I cannot wait to see how you go about this game! I ain't much of a dark souls player myself, but I really liked the way you went about playing in older videos, and this already feels like a fun series. You're gonna do amazing sir, and good luck!
Thank you so much Corn happy to have ya on board 🫶🏽
Noooo the master key bypasses what makes the level progression special on first playthrough, smh
People who recommended it just want to see your funny reaction of walking into a higher level area and getting your ass beat, but there's plenty of that already without the key
Edit: Noooo you killed Oscar :(
Edit: You got a bonus estus in Firelink because someone else playing online at the same time kindled their Firelink bonfire.
Worst comment every ong 💀
Having started my FromSoft adventures with this game when it released back in 2011 it's always fun to see people experiencing it for the first time.
Never ever level resistance, it's a useless stat
Attunement slots is how many spells you can have equipped (attuned) at one time
The circle next to your life and stamina bar is your soft humanity, you can consume it to restore your humanity at a bonfire, and to kindle bonfires (can only be done while human).
Let's gooooooooo
You got this bro don't you dare go hallow 👊
I think I know what that means but yes NEVER 😈
Earned my sub. I love these games and seeing someone else experience them for the first time is absolutely awesome.
This is by far going to be the most excited I am for any plathru on your channel...SOOO HYPED
I was to, until he maxed out the brightness...
I'm not watching... 😔
So glad the souls series is back, I’ll be here for all the games.
I’m gonna watch your Elden Ring videos while I wait for the next DS episode
A sub from here!
Appreciate you brotha 🫶🏽 Elden Ring was a trip and a half haha
You and me both!
I hope you will play DS2(Dark Souls 2) and DS3(Dark Souls 3)
100% we will
Quick update on the stats:
Vitality = health
Attunement = magic spell slots (like memory stones in Elden Ring)
Endurance = stamina AND equip load
Strength and Dex are the same as all the other games (I'm a dex scrub myself)
Resistance = resistances against poison and stuff, WASTE OF TIME DO NOT INVEST IN
Intelligence = magic damage
Faith = Faith damage EG lightning and stuff
DS1 is very forgiving with its levels, many things will level up multiple things too as far as I can remember.
Humanity works slightly like Insight in Bloodborne, you can use it to revert to human form. Once in Human form you can access multiplayer but more importantly you can use another humanity to Kindle a bonfire, which gives you 10 flasks instead of 5. (this can also be upgraded later in the game to 20 but don't worry about that for now)
As far as I can remember you can not respec in this game either but I might be wrong.
I should also mention that having used humanity you get a lil number next to your health bar, the higher the number the more Luck you will have with finding items. But you will lose all of those on death, so personally I wouldn't have it very high. Drop rates are not that important in this game.
The start to another EPIC series! LET'S GOOO
The beginning of it all 😅 could’ve gone worst I think haha
I'm already sooooo looking forward to this
lmaooo I appreciate that bro 🫶🏽😅
Little tip most bosses that have tails if you cut it before u kill the boss u get a unique weapon
Although you'll never get that first playthrough experience again I still sat here yelling NOOOOOOO!!!! at my screen repeatedly lol. I loved it. Nice video.
Really was looking forward to this! Can’t wait to see you enjoy this incredible game
Loved it brother! Calm and entertaining to watch! Looking forward to the rest of the series! You are up for a hell of an epic joinery!
I’m hyped I’ll actually sit through the whole video to watch 😂 this is my 2nd favorite souls game 😍
Remember you can take of armor to roll faster. I figured it's not a spoiler if it's a mechanic in the other games.
This is my favorite game in the series. This and res 2 has been a joy. Seeing you explore around was very nostalgic. Hope you enjoy this adventure!

Great video man! As pointed out by others, be mindful of the master key. It can open passages to areas you may want to visit later in the game (it basically unlocks shortcuts to high-level areas).
I finally have time to watch some Matiasness!! great to see you.
Nice to have you back good sir 🤘🏽
Thank you for this series Mati I’ve been going through a lot lately.
No worries man I hope whatever you’re going through gets better soon. you got this ❤️
I always love when YT randomly recommends me people who are starting games like the souls series or Skyrim for the first time. That on top of the other games you have on your channel and being funny and entertaining. Think I’ve found yet another creator to add to the sub box. I laughed so hard when you killed Oscar unprovoked 😂 of course I had seen you were doing ds2 so we all know I had to start with this one first
man its so joyous to always see someone getting into Dark Souls 1 for the first time!!!play online too, just for the fun! :3
Well, that was some timing on joining that covenant.
2 things happened at the same time.
1) well, you joined a covenant
2) another player kindled s bonfire, which gave you one extra estus.
Edit: the firelink bonfire gave you the other 5 since it was already kindled.
Yes, kindling a bonfire makes that specific bonefire give more estus
Oh yeah, there is the Furtive Pigme, I didn't even remember him
HE'S SO EASILY FORGOTTEN
There are 3 types of rolls in ER but the only difference between the mid-roll and fast roll is the distance they travel in that game
You're really fun to watch, man! Hope you become big someday.
Thank you WooMan 🫶🏽
@@matiasgago yeah!
Thats gonna be another fantastic journey. Sit back and enjoy ☕️
Yessir! love to hear that 😊

Thank you Nad 🫶🏽 Sounds good haha i am ready!!
49:48 i love this entire moment there xD
i just discovered this channel. can already tell it's gonna be an exciting lets play!
I remember my first play i also went to the graveyard i enjoyed the video thanks !
Also, being that you're a connoisseur of the boss themes, just wait 'til the plin-plin-plon ;)

Lmao It’s gonna be a wild ride 🤣
The adventure begins! Watching these in order and can’t wait to see how you approach this one. Great stuff as always.
Amazing start. Love this game and series. Don't forget to try DS 3, it's really good has a lot of similar mechanics to DS 1 and Elden Ring.
yes ! :D
I have been waiting for this.
I really hope you enjoy this game as much as you did bloodborne.
Edit. You should play around with different Equip Load percentage 👍
It’s very different but I think we will in other ways i’m hella excited :D
Hell yes! So excited to watch you playthrough another FromSoft game! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did on my first playthrough!
A few tips:
1) Unlike Bloodborne where when there are multiple directions open to you, you can take any of them with no thought given to your level.
And
2) There are 0 chances to reset your stats in the game. So make sure you research soft/hard caps for each of the stats you plan on using. Unlike Elden Ring, it’s VERY difficult to do a little of everything in your first playthrough (while learning the mechanics). So pick a weapon/build you like and stick with it. If you want some early game weapon recommendations, say so in the next video and I’m sure some of us will reply with our favorites.
keep it up man, really enjoy your content!
Love to hear it will do 🫶🏽
