No good fortune. Greg Miller knew what he was doing. He picked up Craig Scholl on the way through Echuca on the same weekend. True story

Always felt Grundy was overhyped especially the season before he signed that big Collingwood contract. Hes okay but considering what the Pies and Dees accepted to get rid of him yeah, doesn’t seem to be valued by those clubs in the end

He was brilliant - but overpriced. Gawn in his prime shaped the value of an untouchable ruck. Same with Adam Goodes in his prime ruck form.
But… Collingwood ended up using Cameron - a decent but not outstanding ruck - backed up by Cox and won a flag. Their combined salaries are probably what Grundy got on his own, and they got two players out of it.

Maybe over priced but definitely not overhyped. His numbers and impact were unbelievable for those couple of years. Dual AA and dual Bnf in 2018/19. So club and comp both clearly rated him very highly. Easy to forget just how good he was given what has happened since, but bit of a stretch to say overhyped in my opinion.

I think he had an outstanding 2018.

Matt Owies on field flog behaviour has done his reputation no favours.
His manager is back tracking. He released his salary expectations into the media, however it backfired and now he is scrambling.

That 700-800 figure probably came from someone within Carlton trying to scare other teams from trying to sign or trade for him so he’ll be forced to accept whatever Carlton gives him. That was my first thought when that report came out, absolute nonsense whoever put that out without listing their source of information.
