  • Are you asking yourself "How To Do Better Tattoo Lines???"
    In this video I show you all a powerful exercise that can help you develop in a few areas that would translate well and help you upon tattooing.
    The idea behind this exercise is to find confidence, consistency, this exercise can also help develop a good idea on how to find better positions upon tattooing.
    The reason why I started with this exercise prior to ever picking up a tattoo machine was because I knew that I wanted to do tattoos that were heavy line based tattoos and not so much on the realistic end.
    So knowing what I wanted from my tattooing allowed me to focus in on the truly important obstacles for me, which in my case was lining. Lining was my first obstacle I faced when growing at the beginning of my tattooing journey. I think it took me like 2-3 months to be able to pull a nice line, not a one pass line just a line.
    I implemented this exercise early on so I would have a foundation to work off of as opposed trying to figure it all out as I was tattooing. All in all if you are looking to better your tattoo lines, take some time and invest into some supplies to mimic this exercise on your end.
    I will also link you to these composition books so you can also practice and develop on your end. Composition notebook here amzn.to/3w50wkC

    I started lining in The Tattoo Journal V1 yesterday and have been letting myself get frustrated that I couldn't get perfectly straight lines and I'm 20 pages of lines in. This gives me hope that I'm not a lost cause.

    • @DanielYuck
      @DanielYuck  Рік тому +2

      You are not a lost cause!
      I can vividly remember when I started lining in the same manor on paper with pen or pencil, I would never get clean lines in the beginning.
      One day you will wake up and notice the improvement and this progressive motion will continue as long as you stay with it. Keep pushing and keep going. You will be rewarded.
      Thank you for your support! You are appreciated.

    I understand the exercise. I feel it would be helpful. However, tattoo guns are heavier and although the tape reduces vibrations theyre still there.

      I like that idea. I created a new tattooing workbook series called The Tattoo Journal and I like to use the ballpoint pen cartridges along with a tattoo machine to practice in the journals.

    I like this a lot and by no means hate just a question but with actual tattooing isn't it better to "ride the tube" to keep consistent pressure which is technically doing it blind because if you angle like that the needle going against the skin vs along it

      You should be using your arm more

    • @lukedorrington7455
      @lukedorrington7455 3 роки тому +3

      Opposite actually, you should be locking your wrist and pulling lines with your shoulder, that keeps lines straight otherwise as explained in the video they have a tendancy to curve and also you will get inconsistent depth

    So yesterday I tattooed one side of a wing on someone and it just felt like a off day
    Some lines were good and some were too thin as if I wasn’t penetrating the skin correctly it confuses the shit out of me cause I do have some good tattoos but sometimes I don’t even know what happens,definitely going to start doing this on a regular basis (been tattooing for 3 months)

    • @elliottnunez1057

      Hand speed has alot 5o do with consistent lines also.. Correct depth, correct speed.

    • @yct12
      @yct12 3 роки тому +1

      Hand speed should be working together with your voltage. And voltage should change depending on the needle. You can't go too fast with a 9rl or use the same voltage you use with a 3rl. Just like how you cant use high voltage and slow hand speed with 3rl or it will blow.

    • @Galletita0422
      @Galletita0422 3 роки тому

      Check your voltage because not all the machines are the same if 7 works for me to do lines that does not mean is going to work with yours!

    • @mattlocks1973
      @mattlocks1973 3 роки тому +2

      jonas , search in youtube.... needle depth Daniel yuck. He has a few different videos all worth a watch.

    • @lukedorrington7455
      @lukedorrington7455 3 роки тому +5

      The proper depth changes from person to person and also what area you are tattooing, the best technique to find the dermis layer on any given area is to slowly bring your needle down until it touches the skin and forms a small pool of ink them go very slightly deeper and you will be golden. Hope that helps

    • @elliottnunez1057
      @elliottnunez1057 3 роки тому +2

      @jonas lazanas. When you three point stretch you'll feel the vibration in your stretching hand when you hit the correct depth
      . Also your machine if tuned correctly will bog , listen. You'll hear a difference. Stretch, stretch stretch that skin and you WILL feel the vibe. Even if machine isn't tuned perfectly for depth with bog...
