It doesn’t matter what Barry and Maurice supposedly said at one time, many fans prefer Barry’s strong, unique, sweet, beautiful, at other times deep voice. Barry’s voice is very versatile. It’s definitely the most commercial voice. There are many times when Robin’s vibrato becomes too much and he ends up sounding like a goat. It’s harsh. Too much. There are times when his voice is great in a song. Of course other times Barry’s voice is the one perfect for a song. His vibrato is “killer”. Lol. Yes, sometimes it kills my ears. Ouch.
@@BGWhisperereveryone has their opinion who they like best! Personally I like all of them, but I don’t like Barry’s falsetto, I prefer his chest voice much better. I think he over used the falsetto. I think Robin had some great songs on his solo albums don’t think he sounded like a goat though. It took all three of them to be The Bee Gees and their great harmonies but each one had their shining moments with their own songs, that’s what makes them so good. They were so talented, loved them all.

Oh, wow. I have not heard most of these songs before. This compilation demonstrates what we, Robin fans, knew all along. That his voice is at a whole other level than many others before him, and after him. What a great talent he was to be able to sing with such versatility. He has one of the best voices and is truly missed by all his fans.
Eu acho a voz do Robin algo como se eu estivesse numa Catedral maravilhosa com aquela acústica ímpar e ele entoando suas notas. Deve ser tenor de tão linda! É a voz de Catedral !!
It took me a while to come around to that song. But now I love it too! It's amazing. Do you prefer the sped up version that was on Tales from the Brothers Gibb or the original? I prefer the original by far.
Both versions are exquisite to me, just different versions of the angel chords the brothers were able to channel from the heavens. And some of my favorite lyrics as well; Hello angel, do you know me, I'm your man. Would that be hard for you to try and understand... I appreciate the more earthy sounding original, but I do love the geared-up guitar riffs, added background vocals, and edgier sound of the Tales from the Brothers Gibb album. Either way, the song slaps! @@beegeesjam
This is a wonderful compilation to illustrate Robin's unique and versatile voice. Thanks for including the rare selections from "A Kick in the Head is Worth Eight in the Pants!"
Gladly! Thanks for your comment. I think that album has some of Robin's best vocals ever, but many went unheard. I'm so glad these songs are now available in good quality for everyone to hear!
he truly had the most heartbreaking, gorgeous voice, i never have and never will hear anything like it again. he's so special. i can't help but find all of the quirky things he sang in these songs and others absolutely adorable though! have to admit that's why i am a When Do I enjoyer! 🤣💕

@jayjo77144 I completely agree with you. kthor is a troll-she goes on all the BeeGees sites and makes derogatory statements to paint Robin Gibb in a bad light. What a sad person she must be! I do not even reply to her anymore.
I'm glad to make the introduction! The Gibb brothers' back catalogue is a treasure trove full of all kinds of genres and styles. Thank you for your kind words!
Thank you for this but I am just curious to why you did not highlight 'I am The World' which was the 'B' side to 'Spicks and Specks'. Most serious Bee Gees collectors here in Australia believe this is Robins major effort whilst they were here. My local radio station at the time played this side as opposed to 'Specks and Specks'. This not a criticism just a matter of curiosity.
Ah! It happened again! I do most of my listening on the official Bee Gees UA-cam channel under the Releases tab, which does not contain non-album B-sides. So, the reason "I Am the World" was not in this video is simply that I had never heard it before! I've listened it about five times now, and my first impressions are: 1. What a skillful performance for a 16 year old! 2. The backing instrumentals sound like the backing of "Massachusetts" 3. Great lyrics ("You are to me the very deepest part of me") 4. Do I hear an Everly brothers influence? I can't thank you enough for your comment introducing me to this great song. Thanks for sharing your memories. As someone who was a Bee Gees fan from the very beginning, which of their eras is your favorite? I read that you saw them live in 1966... that must have been amazing! I wish I could have seen the Bee Gees live, but my lifetime did not overlap with the Bee Gees as a group... I will have to settle for hearing "More Than A Woman" at the vet and "An Everlasting Love" at the grocery store 😂

His vibrato is one of a kind. His songs tend to be sad But that’s why he is the only Robin!❤
Robin sang from his soul, a voice we will never hear again 😢❤❤❤
Love his voice! He could sing anything, but sad songs were his specialty.

I miss him so. He always seemed like such a beautiful soul when he sang. He showed every word in his face

Only Robin could put that much emotion into a voice crack!
It's a perfectly in tune raw Vibrato sound, I feel sorry for people who don't hear the beauty in his voice

So talented
Robin Gibb was the "Humorous Songbird" of the Gibb Brothers and his music legacy will forever lives on.
He surely will be missed 🥺😭😢💔
Absolutely iconic! Both Barry and Maurice said he had the best voice. Barry said his vibrato was "Killer". The brothers together were amazing.
