We all know that the voice of our legendary Songbird/Singer/Songwriter and our Bee Gee Robin Gibb really catches our feelings especially his iconic vibrato. We can't avoid to cry while we feel his song just like the third content I am featuring right now- I Started A Joke from the album "Idea", released as a single last December 1968. This is the last Bee Gees single to feature Vince Melouney's guitar work, as he left the band in early December after this song was released as a single.
Facts about this song:
-According to him, the melancholic melody of the song was inspired by the sounds on board of an aeroplane.
-This song is all about someone who has done or said something horribly wrong, which resulted in alienating everyone around him. It's a great example of lyrical songwriting, and very much a love-it-or-hate-it song. With the opening line, "I started a joke, which started the whole world crying," followed with "I started to cry, which set the whole world laughing," the song can be heard as achingly poignant or overly sentimental. - He told during the interview that I Started A Joke is a very spiritual song. The listeners have to interpret it themselves - trying to explain it would detract from the song. (The Mail, 1st of November 2009)
During his final day (May 20, 2012), his son RJ played the song on phone just after his father died from kidney failure. He said during the interview on The Sun: "When he passed away we went out, they took the equipment away and we came back in, I picked up my phone and found "I Started a Joke" on UA-cam and played it. I put the phone on his chest and that was the first time I broke down. I knew that song and its lyrics were perfect for that moment. That song will always have new meaning to me now."
Year 2017- RJ sang his father's song and it was included on the album Gibb Collective: Please Don't Turn Out The Lights by M.E.G. Productions.

What an absolutely beautiful video! And, yes, I cried through the whole thing because of my love for this incredibly amazing man, a love I know we all share. He is truly the most talented singer the world has ever known and I miss him each and every day but know that he's in a much better place with God. RIP, sweet, sweet angel.

This may be the most beautiful tribute to Robin that I have ever seen. 10 years on and the grief is still strong. I never met Robin, but I believe he was a kind and loving man with an extraordinary gift. Thank you for this emotional tribute to a beautiful, beloved man.💔
As fabulous as Barry is and was, his voice was not near as beautiful as Robins.... such a lovely sound.
Such a brilliant, deeply caring man, with the voice of an angel. Barry said " He missed Robin's beautiful voice, so much!". Love them all. They are, Too Much Heaven.
Many singers loose their voice as they age, but Robin’s voice only got better. His voice was so pure and had such a unique harmonic quality,. Truly one of a kind. Thank you for being such a big part of my teenage years. RIP.

There will Never be another Robin.
Never truly appreciated Robin Gibb and the Bee Gees until recently. I was too young back then and now as an older woman, I wish I saw them in concert. Robin's voice is one of the most beautiful sounds of all time and I love him.
Thank you lord for lending us this beautiful man. Robin is a beautiful man inside and out and his voice well what can I say, it was magical. He sang from the depth of his soul. Such a knowledgeable man. You could ask him anything and he would know the answer. Miss him terribly. You were called home early and left behind you a lot of broken hearts.
