- In this video, I explain the difference between le/les/lo/la/los/las in Spanish. This has to do with indirect and direct objects. I focus here on the differences between these two, because it is the most confusing part that I struggled to learn!

Thank you so much.. i am using doulingo and watching spanish series in Netflix. I am very confusing these words la,le,lo,las, los, etc.. now i know
I have been stuck on the same Duolingo lesson for a WEEK. Thank you!
Girl, don't use duolingo! Duo is not helpful
@@clearfruit7901 It's a pretty helpful tool actually. But I wouldn't rely on it solely. And clearly she's not cuz she's here!
Same!!
ME TOO
@@clearfruit7901it is, but just as a supplement to your main course
you taught this so clearly in 5 minutes, thank you! i've been struggling with this for weeks with my spanish teacher 😞
That's funny actually. So le can be used for both musculin and feminine, add the fact that the Spanish typically don't use personal pronouns, and you will get that in a sentence like "he made a breakfast for her", it is actually not clear if a man or a woman made a breakfast, same as it is not clear for whom he or she made the breakfast😃.
Must be quite confusing to speak Spanish
Cheers bud, a nice explanation!
I mix in se instead of le/les indirect pronouns. Can you help?
I think the idea to not focus on the grammar per se, is a really smart one. I doubt native speakers are thinking in real-time about whether they are about to reference a direct or indirect object I have to assume it's just pretty natural from the years of hearing it and, like you said, just knowing which pronouns tend to go with which verbs. I found this video to be pretty helpful. The idea that I was going to have to be conscious about whether I was about to use a d.o or i.o was troubling but this kinda put me at ease a little bit. Thanks!
I wish you would have provided a list of some of the verbs that always go with " le " -- other than decir.
Good call
Thank you. This is really helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
This was so helpful thank you so much!
Thank u!!!
It is much easier to understand it if you include a direct object and the preposition ‘to’ in the English. (And then, you need to also learn the other Spanish indirect object pronoun ‘se’ (which complicates things a little - but that’s Spanish for you!)
Ella le dio una manzana. She gave him an apple. Ella se la dio. She gave it ‘to him’.
Les enseñó español. He taught them Spanish. Se lo enseñó. He taught it ‘to them’.
Ella le dijo un secreto. She told him a secret. Ella se lo dijo. She told it ‘to him’
The concept of the indirect object is easier when you can rephrase the sentence with the preposition ‘to’ - and in Spanish, the preposition ‘a’ is used with indirect noun objects (and pronouns in certain cases.)
‘A Juan le gustan las manzanas’ ‘Apples are pleasing to Juan.’ Juan likes apples.
‘Le gustan las manzanas.’ Apples are pleasing to him. He likes apples.
‘A él le gustan.’ To him they are pleasing. He likes them.
A very easy way of teaching a subject that is mostly trying using confusing gramaticalm terms... Thankyou
Could you tell me why 'i hit him' is le pegue and not lo pegue? I'm confused? Thanks
Le refers to a person.
Lo refers to an object.
@@edgardavid4635 yes but ' I love him' would be lo amo, 'i see her ' would be la veo???? They are direct pronouns
It's been mos to that I'm understanding this pronombres but now fully understand and equip. Thank you so much 😊
Thanks, very useful, have subscribed 😊
Thank you very much.
Im using Babbel and I got absolutely lost on this subject
This video helped me so much simple and effective . Thank you
Thank you for this video, sir. I just added the 999th like. I've never done that before.
But it’s hard to remember which one is which, le sounds it’s it ought be direct and lo indirect!! But it’s the other way around
Thank you for explaining this so clearly.
Le hizo EL desayuno 😁
So “le and les” can be used for both masculine and feminine???
i've been struggling for so long, thank you so f!kin much!!!!
I wash the dog. I wash him. La bano. (?)
Lo baño!🙌 “lo” since it’s “him”. “La” is for “her”
@@michaelharperspanish Oh duh, I was close, thanks. Duh. Thanks, great video. 💪👍
I'm at the point in my studies, I just say all three and wait to be corrected. Maybe overtime I'll get it, but it takes too long to remember in the middle of a sentence while you are thinking.
4:45 how do I know that SHE made something and not HE?
Le hizo EL desayuno.:)
I can't stand the sound of Spanish
Still it's confusing 😢sry
When using the indirect object, how do you identify masculine or feminine le/les doesn't identify gender...
Context of the conversation will usually tell you, or you can ask for clarification
Good info, nice work.
Nice and concise video, thanks!
Still does not make sense to me
Dude very good stuff. Appreciate this video a tonne
ME TOO!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
¡Excelente! You have a knack for making confusing things, plain and simple. Gracias señor. 👏🏻👏🏻
This is very helpful. I didn’t even know how to ask the question to find out the answer. But now I get it and in fact, Spanish does this better than English I think
Thanks Michael for the lesson, I have had many issues with direct and indirect object's mainly identifying which is which in conversation at speed. I have learned the grammar rules blah blah! and I have done many lessons and discussion with my one to one teacher but always, I am left still confused, however this time no. You have somehow found a really easy way to put the formula across that sticks and the trick with linking essential LE linked verbs is a gem. It's the first time I have heard of learning use of LE in this - grammar free way. Saludos Steve
Like your work i connect well Peter Mountford Worcester , UK
He's recommending context over grammar rules.
Muchas gracias. Best explanation.
Thank you! I’m glad it helped!🙌
Thanks a lot for this video, now I better understand Lo, La, and Le and now can get ahead of my classmates.

Please explain the difference between cómele vs cómelo... Gracias
Cómelo = eat it
Cómele = eat him.
You have good instructions. But you need to improve the writing on the board. Your writing is too small and confusing!!!
Good
Spaniards be like: “Le ha matado!” 😂
Very good
Good lesson!
Aqui de casualidad viendo clases de angloparlantes aprendiendo español. =)
Bro, are you okay?
Should we be worried about you?
I found you on UA-cam. I'm already following on Instagram
