- Andrew unboxes and delivers an overview of the Sony HXR-NX100 semi-pro camcorder. He picked it up from B&H Photo at a decent priced because it was slightly used (no evidence of wear). This camera is great! He mainly got it because of how well it performs in low light.

Line level is used when receiving audio from a mixing board. Because line level audio is high gain. the switch bypasses the preamp circuit. The signal is received through the xlr. If line level is not selected when receiving audio from a mixing board, the audio will be distorted.

FYI, there was one item missing from the box, a infrared remote (RMT-845), which can control zoom, shutter, etc. I called B&H and they gave me a partial refund, because they do not sell replacements.
How bad is the view finder, I hear it's horrible 0.24?
It's what is keeping me from buying, there are no demos for me to try, I do bright sun outside..

How do you import the video into the pc. "Content Manager" I used for my AX 2000 doesn't work with the NXR NX100. It only imports the video without audio. Sony supplied "Content Manager" with the AX 2000 but, they didn't include any way to import with NXR NX100. Sonys site is terrible and doesn't recognize the model NXR NX100. I was able to import using "Movavi" to a MP4.

Do you do long videos or just short 10 minute ones. That's the problem. If you do longer ones and try to import the video it's broken into 10 minute segments and the drop outs are annoying.
you can get longer recording times depending on your settings. you can either record in .AVC or .MP4. Using the .MP4 setting, I can record for very long times. I can film for over an hour and get one file. However, it's SUPER LARGE... lol
i don't see any setting for MP4 in the cameras menu.
sorry, the settings are for either xavc s hd or avchd... i forget which one actually spits out a MP4 file. i can follow up later, but if you wanna try each one, go ahead.
is it a 4k camera?
it is not 4k only 1080p
