@michaelsweet8158 thanks Michael! Thanks for answering my questions and letting me play that killer guitar! I might have to look into getting a Sully👀😎🙌
I met you Michael many years ago at Hammerjacks, you came and sat next to me at the bar after the show, seen you guys several times at M3 as well.Love you guys!
Cool interview Emily !cool guitar! And congrats to Michael and Stryper on our 40th Anniversary!,,, And still spreading the Good NEWs of JC!🎉🎄 And If that makes him old ,I am too, hahaha,! Said a prayer for you and your tour Michael.🙏✨🐦
Thanks for posting this killer video with Michael Sweet, Emily . I've always liked Stryper and so cool for you to talk ,and even better play his guitar. You're awesome. Stryper to .
One of the coolest dudes in music ever! Really likes to have a relationship with the fans! So glad I’ve had the pleasure of opening for him 3 times in the past year! Can’t wait to see travel to IN Saturday to see this badass tour
It's very nice that these folks give you interview requests. It's nice to see how down to earth rockstars can really be to their fans. You are truly having fun ❤😊
Awesome Interview and Playing. I met Michael and worked spotlight for him when he was touring after his 1st solo album. Super nice and laid-back guy. Nice job rocking on his Sully! Looking forward to more of your videos! Thank you ~
@@guitarbyemily right on!!! Yes Michael can sing some high notes like original singer Brad Delp (RIP) they have Tommy DeCarlo now but havent toured in a couple years...I heard a rumor Boston may tour in 2026 which would mark 50 years of that original mind blowing first album!!!....but it's just a rumor.....I hope it comes true!!!! Tom Scholz is a mastermind with his hyperspace pedal and Rockman processors!!!!
That was awesome Emily. It’s very rare you would get to actually play a guitar from a well known guitarist. Congrats. I’m jealous.😆 Keep on Rockin’ Emily. 🎸🤘🏼👍🏻
Oh, no way!!!! I would be so excited to do what you just did there! No way!!!! I'm so happy for you, what an experience! Michael Sweet is totally unbelievable, Stryper is so cool. You really didn't know that the guitar was on?! Excellent! Rock on Emily! 😎😁🎸👍🏻
Awesome Emily! Oh yeah, the guys in Stryper have always been the best. To this day, when anyone asks me "Who had the best vocals that you saw live in concert?" I always say Stryper hands down. Michael's lead vocals and their harmonies have always been amazing! Such a great band with always a great message. You and family have a great weekend Emily! Keep rocking like always! 😃🤘🤘
Super cool. Seen the guys live over the years and always super loud. Maybe they will tour somewhere close so I can catch another show! Nice lil interview. (But errrrr.... back to dem studies grasshoppa! ✌️😋) You Rock! 🤘😔🎸
I liked stryper, bought their few few albums and then they sorta changed with the times but good to see Mr sweet is a really nice down to earth guy like I expected, really neat guitar and I would see them in concert if they are around me, certainly
Awesome, Emily! You can pass for relatives! 😀Michael Sweet is such an underrated player. He and Oz are one of my favorite guitar duos, right up there with Glenn & KK, Dave & Adrian, etc.. They are both amazing singers too but imo they don't get enough credit for their lead playing! They are the kings of harmony... vocally and instrumentally. Been a Stryper fan since the beginning.
Michael is truly a gentleman and his equipment is the best . Don’t know this young lady but she can rip also . Hopefully I will be able to see them on their current tour . Triple 7’s rolling and to God Be The Glory. An absolute fan since I found them as a young man living in socal in the 80’s . And also the heavier stuff is just cool .
Awesome Emily ! Living that dream , but some food for thought .. have you given thought to the next step ? Only so many greats of the 80's you can hang with and with your talent and rubbing shoulders with the right people take all the different styles of the great's and combined them in to one sound "yours" and put a band together and get out there and show the world what you are made of from the soul ! Oh and please please please take that leather jacket and throw it in the dirt a few times get it dirty wipe it off and repeat a few times it needs that vintage broke in look !
Thanks! I'm in nursing school right now. Currently, it's not my dream to have a band and make original music. I'm living my dream right now, playing my favorite music and being able to meet and interview the guys that originally created this music!! This is what I want to be doing and I'm so thankful I'm able to be doing it
Thanks for this! I see the ISP Theta MSX DSP, what amps and cabs on stage? (FWIW, I have an ISP Theta Pro DSP MS which is amazing). Michael Sweet is amazing; underrated song writer, singer, guitarist, composer,...
The girl interviewing him, looks adorable holding that guitar, it suits her style. How does Michael Sweet look so damn good, after living through the crazy 80's?
Thank you:) He still looks great! He has spoken about how they tried to live relatively clean lives so they probably didn't go through all the stuff other bands did
People are saying how young he looks and I agree. He’s a SoCal dude and it’s really a lifestyle out there. I know a dude out there who could climb high rock climbing walls in his 50’s man-that’s pretty damn impressive and he’s a tall big dude like I am. I’ve talked to life guards in OC who were in their late 30’s but didn’t look a day over 26 or 27. They really value eating clean, nature, and fitness in SoCal man and it shows with the people, art, and lifestyle. I’ve always thought some of the best bands were from California. He’s a good dude- That was cool to be able to play soundcheck like that, your scales sounded really good and I know better than many people because I’ve been playing for a minute now.The tone was really good and I know it varies from guitar tech and in each band but some bands hate doing sound check and do the bare minimum to make sure the tone is on right for the venue while others write the majority of their new albums warming up pre-show. I’ve always liked Stryper’s yellow/black unique bumblebee paint jobs, it makes them unique and stand out from others.
Their album "Against the Law" is great. I've heard Michael doesn't care for it that much. Cool guitar, though I prefer their Jackson's from back in the day. I'm surprised Jackson didn't step up and give them signature guitars.
Man, Micheal is such a “Sweet” guy! I’m sorry. The joke was right there! I can literally turn anything into a joke. I mean ANYTHING. I’m like the Rock ‘N’ Roll version of Jerry Seinfeld!
Oh noes. That leather jacket and now that guitar has buckle rash from hell. lol I have damaged one too many now it's plastic zippers on all my hoodies.
