    EVERYTHING you said here makes PERFECT sense. No freaking idea how I found this channel but I'm so glad I did. I agree 100% I could never work a white collar corporate phony BS job. My happiness is being a truck driver. I stare out the window, listen to rock n roll, and wise people like you. Cheers from Cleveland Ohio 🍻

      yeah. i think theres diff types of depression also. like you can be doing good but still have some nagging sadness or something you cant put your finger on. or just a low grade depression that i think is common and not a big deal. but there is full blown depression, and I can tell the difference, and that's caused by circumstance.

    💯❤️ I was so lucky to see George Carlin live, on stage, while he was on tour in 1999. 1 statement he made during the show has always stuck with me: "It's Called the American Dream Because You Have To Be Asleep to Believe It" - George Carlin.
    So when you said the insane people are running the asylum it reminded me of Carlin's quote. You're so right! 💯❤️

    You must be in my head. I'm going thru a bit of depression right now and can use all the tips on how to beat or tackle it! This has been a really tough few days..... Pain will make people do stupid shit!! I'm far from doing stupid shit, but it's not from a lack of pain!!!

    • @stringbender3
      @stringbender3 Рік тому

      I think of pain as a blessing. The more pain, GOOD! More shit for me to learn, more shit for me to fix, be a man and lead. It’s a great teacher. No pain no gain that’s why so many rich ppl are clueless and stupid. Be thankful for the pain, feel and learn from it. Use it to your advantage to motivate you to kick ass! Be the man you always needed. You might see things that others do not. So you are responsible for things that others are not. Can’t have a victim mindset.

    • @bryanduchane2371
      @bryanduchane2371 Рік тому

      @@stringbender3 you obviously have never dealt with severe pain in your life and consider yourself very lucky. As much as I understand your "challenge", what you're saying is clearly from a person ho has never experienced pain at a level in dealing with.
      I hope and pray you never do.... It will turn your entire life upside down and makes it very hard to simply love things that everyone loves instantly.
      I'm sure you're coming from an honest position, but your honesty is actually cruel!!
      I appreciate your, in your face direction, of curing my ailment, but not a technique that works when handling long-term chronic pain.
      I've considered so many ways to tackle this issue, but taking your approach simply doesn't work. I've been a scratch golfer, excellent student and some would consider a good dad, but never dealt with something this entirely horrible condition and pray no one else has to either. After 13 years, 3 surgeries, 21 bolts, 2 plates, 3 bone grafts and a new device still remaining, my neck has seen severe trama very few cervical neck patients have thankfully never experienced.
      As a strong willed person, I don't need your concern and definitely your uneducated suck it up attitude, as that simply doesn't fit the Bill of Goods!!!
      What I would appreciate is for you to dedicate your extremely high concern used in a simple prayer for those if us that suffer daily from chronic pain. That's something I truly believe it's a better use of your time and definitely more valuable than me writing this text to someone who has nearly zero compassion for their fellow man.
      Have a great day!!!

    And then you get to the existential depression side of things. The type of depression that is derived from all of the misery that is experienced by everyone around the world. The sad thing is, the more aware and intelligent you are, the more you recognize the injustices, cruelty and suffering that a lot of people experience. I consider myself lucky, but I can't help but feel sombre on occasion when I reflect on the state of the world. Another great video Joey

    Joey you are so genuine and what you say is so true !!!! I was left a single Mom of seven children after my daughter became a crime victim by her own father…. I would tell myself to take one day at a time because looking ahead I got petrified. Soon I realized 6 months had passed and we were going to be okay. I didn’t have time to be depressed and I always gave to the needy even though I only had a few dollars in my pocket and didn’t know where my next dollar was coming from.I was a hustler….. I would collect scrap metal to feed my kids for the day. God always watched over us. Now my daughter and my 6 sons are all grown and they are all great kids. Some of our best times were when the struggles were real.

So you have to find it. Do random acts of kindness even if you feel down yourself. Also your words about fear resonated with me a lot. As someone struggling with anxiety I have to remind myself every day that fear of something is far worse than the thing itself that I'm anxious about. I think you touched on some powerful points in this video. I am a psychology student, and I completely agree with you about how sinister big pharma is. Where I disagree is where people might not have chemical imbalances. It's the same as if someone was born with some kind of deformity. I think medication is okay in those cases. however, the power of a solid philosophy for someone alongside therapy is invaluable. Stoicism, Buddhism, and even Christianity can be so helpful. You'd be surprised how much The Buddha and Jesus had in common, and I think it's a good introduction to eastern philosophy for western people.
    Also, although they ARE DEFINITELY NOT for everyone, psychedelics are very promising. I know this from personal experience and from alot of anecdotal evidence.
    Really appreciate your channel, man. Helps keep me sane in these stressful times.
    I also forgot to mention ,.why I think the philosophies I mentioned above are so important, is b cause they teach you to live with LESS and be happy with what really matters which is the exact opposite of what we're told our whole lives here in America which I think contributes a WHILE LOT to depression.
    You're a good person Joey. I am a very left leaning individual, too. But I have to say, I love your compassion, which the seemingly overt LACK of is what drove me away from the right wing side which I used to staunchly support.. but I'd have to says we'd probably very much disagree on politics. But keep being you, man.

      @@shanesmith734 For sure with so many processed foods and now g m o's and non organic foods; could be why so many have chemical imbalances/depression also! If I eat junk food I feel awful for days afterwards and don't sleep well or think clearly.

    My way of coping with depression was to just cut everyone off, accept my loss and remain silent, and I am doing that to protect my own sanity. I also learn from the darkest years of my life was to know who my true friends are and know who are the fake ones. I also learn that dealing with financial hardships and mental breakdowns was a new challenge for a life advancement and life changing. Everything has a price, and it’s either cost me my money or my time, and I also know when a battle is not even worth it.

    Amen at the "being at peace with myself"....I've worked all my life 3 jobs at some times ..and Excelled all the way to the top of the food chain when I was only 20 turning 21 I worked my butt off and learned a lot about life the world everything but when I became permanently disabled due to being a victim of domestic violence it was the training in my younger years from my family members especially my grandmother and grandfather that allowed me today.. to be the true hustler that I am and people always say I'm so sorry this happened to you well yeah that sucks but at the end of the day There's not a single situation you can put me in that I can't win at.. and for that I'm thankful and also if I don't see all sides of the world and the things in it and for me that means touch feel and seeing them how am I ever going to truly really relate to anyone or anything that's for me and how I look at my life changes and I've actually grown to appreciate them more than I ever would have thought..thanks again joey..from the Mississippi Gypsy in Jersey.

    I wish i had the answer for depression. From my past experiences id have to say changing your environment, quitting alcohol is huge for me and eating less and healthier. Like cutting down sugar from your diet. All these things definitely help sustain a healthier mind set.

    You are very respurceful, Joey. And wise. We are definitely brsinwashed. And main stream media plays a big role. Getting us riled ip against each other. I believe the rich investors like Blackrock and Big Pharma are the ones running the show. So all of us more "common" people have to stick together, regardless of color or creed, and help each other out when we can.
