Just tapping out now, at the intro to spoilers. But perfect non-spoiler review, keeping plot as vague as you did and spoke on your reflections. You have NO idea how stoked I am to start this trilogy. I'm loving the current book I'm reading, so it's not like I'm in a 'rush' to finish it, however I can't wait for the moment I close that cover and pick right up on Fool's Errand. You can be sure I'll be back to finish this vid!
Wow Colin, I am honestly just a bit lost for words because you said everything so beautifully here. I am so happy that this has been such a profound and even life-changing reading experience for you 🤩 It's interesting, because I personally only fell in love with the Fitz storyline all the way in the Fitz and the Fool trilogy. I think I read Tawny Man too early on in my reading journey, because I was reading more YA/fast-paced stories at the time and that's why this slower and more meditative style just didn't work too well at the time. In hindsight, though, I find myself 100% agreeing with everything you said here. With the caveat that Thick tested my patience at first, lol 🤣🥲 I can't wait to reread the entire RotE, especially now that the final trilogy is one of my all-time favourites. I hope you enjoy the rest of your journey throughout this epic series. And also hope that your spouse enjoys AA when she reads it for Christmas!! Happy reading, Colin 🥰
Thank you so much for the kind words, Esmay! I find it interesting that it took that long for you to fall in love with the Fitz storyline. Did you like Liveship best in the series then? Thick also grated against me at first but I grew to really love him as a character. Thank you for watching and supporting as always, I appreciate you!
@@ColinsCornerYT See, the interesting thing with Hobb books is that I enjoy them more in hindsight than while reading them. Or at least, that was the case when I read them 2 years ago, I think it would be different now that I am further in my reading journey. The one I enjoyed most is definitely Rainwilds, closely followed by Fitz and the Fool. Liveships only really sunk its hooks in me in the third book, and for Tawny Man and Farseer I enjoyed both first books a lot and started to struggle with the pacing in the sequels. But as I said, I think I need to do a reread because I look back on this series so fondly and I have a feeling I will absolutely adore them now.
I have a dilemma...I have nearly no interest in fantasy books...but you are just so dang likable, that I keep watching your videos...perhaps I will become a fantasy convert at some point! I do connect with your Stephen King videos, plus I always enjoy groaning at the corny jokes! Thanks for the time & effort you put into your channel! Take care, man!
Firstly, thank you so much for the compliments and for watching the channel! I will shed a little bit of light on my experience. I actually wandered into the booktube sphere as a consumer only for about 3 years before creating any content. But what led me here was reading a SK book and wanting to find more like it. That eventually led me to the Dark Tower, which as you probably know is SK's stab at fantasy (and a mix of other genres), and I loved it and wanted to try some more! So, if you haven't yet read The Dark Tower that is a great way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, getting some SK in while trying out fantasy. But if not, totally okay! Read what you want to read and watch what you want to watch! Have a great day and thank you for stopping by again, love seeing your thoughtful comments!
Well, I restarted Liveship Traders this morning so safe to say Hobb will be a priority in the near future. Depending on how Liveship goes of course haha
I hope you enjoy it, but either way I would love to hear your thoughts on Liveship! I always look forward to hearing your thoughts. Looking forward to it!
Brilliant review my friend! For me Robin Hobb is an author that can write people in a way that feels so natural, like she understands people in a way that very few people can. Tawny Man is brilliant as a trilogy, while I don’t like it as much as Liveship, mainly because of GF, I don’t really look back at that book fondly, i understand that it was 100% needed for FF to hit the way it does! I would be content if FF was the end of Fitz’s story but I’m glad it continues and there’s no way that Hobb doesn’t stick the landing
Thanks so much man! Love the channel name change 😂. I feel that recently. Have you finished out ROTE yet? I can certainly understand where you’re coming from with GF, and if the 3 it is my least favorite, but still loved it. For some reason, this series really just clicked and felt like I read it at the perfect time.
I love all Hobb's books so much and your passion and enjoyment of them make me love them even more. Plus you are able to articulate your feelings, making you a wonderful book tuber. Once you finish these, you can start on the Soldier Son series. Not quite as good but if you love Hobb's writing, you will probably enjoy those. I have read them twice and enjoyed them more the second time. Why are balloons so expensive? Because they are bursting with fun! ??? okay, probably wrong.
She really has just connected so strongly with me. I will absolutely be trying anything else that Hobb writes! I’m really excited to continue reading her works. I’m amazed that I still have so much left. And not the answer but another great guess! You’re gonna love this one!
So well done, even if you weren’t my son❤
Thanks, mom! I appreciate you!
😂😂😂❤
Awesome series review, and I’m right there with you on how impactful this was. I couldn’t have asked for a better buddy reader for this series! 💪
Seriously man, I think our live chats have truly enhanced my experience with this series exponentially. I can’t wait to continue them!

Thank you, Anthony! I’m so excited for you to start this so I can hear your thoughts as you progress through.
I think you’re going to love it so much!
So glad to hear you loved this so much Colin! I skipped the spoiler talk, but I’m very excited to read this trilogy.
I cannot wait for you to read this, Chas! Hopefully we can have a discussion on it with Ben and Derri when you’re done!
@@ColinsCornerYT most definitely my dude, most definitely.
