i’m new to the rayman fandom- having gotten into the series around 2020’s december, but i’ve been on a rayman kick since and gotta say coming across your fan game for the first time and looking into it: this is amazingly cool and something i’m surprised to see is still being lovingly worked on. stay safe. ❤️
Adsolution, you are the God of this decade. I'm following this project since the beginning and as a BIIIIIIIIIGGGGG Rayman fan and a 3D artist, I can only salute you. Thank you for still working on this project and showing us some updates !! Edit : Adsolution and the person who re-edited the Rayman Redemption game are my heroes.
I mean we obviously have to think of Metal Gear Rising at this point! And yes, I actually thought of having one effect where, kind of like Reflux, an enemy or object could freeze in their current pose and shatter into real chunks.
Amazing tech, though makes me go "why tho". Rayman as a game never was based on physics simulations. But if you can make that work, make sense and be fun without jeopardizing the game's other mechanics and plot - I'm more than interested.
Rayman games have always brought something interesting to the table in their design, and have always been somewhat technically impressive. 3D platformers were a mainstream AAA genre at one point, but were replaced by other genres that cared more about pushing actual gameplay technology in the early 2000's. I see no reason why platformers can't be mainstream again if they cared about stuff like this, because it opens up a plethora of gameplay possibilities and replayability. Plot-wise, it emphasises his power in the feel of the game - he's a small guy who packs a huge punch, and he's cunning, using the environment to his advantage to help take out his enemies. Also, there's nothing quite like a little cinematic sequence of seeing something dynamically demolished in front of your eyes - and that goes along with Rayman 2's goal of "feeling like an action movie".
@@rayfan9876 This made me wonder, will Rayman be more of a calm and collected guy during combat or a slightly cocky one?, Michel Ancel wanted to showcase that aspect of Ray's character in Rayman 2 but forgot about it because of focus on environments of the game.
@@pawenewman138 Rather calm/shy and more in the zone actually - too many cocky/goofy cartoon heroes lol. Though I was going to have his facial expression change depending on what's happening (less dynamic, more manually guided in the level design for story purposes).
@@rayfan9876 Yeah, there are definetely too many of them, and sometimes their cockyness and silliness can take away from overral tone while also making these chars annoying, Sonic in Forces is a good example.
RE: goofball main characters -- I think that's because they're designed to appeal to kids, and many kids' cartoons main characters are _exactly_ like that. It's a trope that people think kids enjoy. Considering how widespread it is, I guess they're right (market probably wouldn't cater to something that doesn't sell). Although I wonder if kids also wouldn't enjoy a super cool dude instead??
Yep, all for the game :) And not a lot of it. It's been many years since a lot of the old ones and they could use an overhaul - I like many of the pieces themselves still though
@@rayfan9876 Then I can't wait to see how you're gonna make them better! Because they still hold up very well honestly, you could tell me some of them are from a third Ori game I would believe it.
PhysX yep, though it's still a fully-integrated CPU engine as well, so you only lose GPU acceleration (which I'm not even sure Unity makes use of - I'm not here).

You should pitch this idea to Ubisoft tbh. If you can just get in contact with someone that works there, which is a lot easier now thanks to discords actually having staff from a bunch of companies.

Rayman but he's watching angry birds gameplay
Angry Rayman >>>> Angry Birds
props to the sound design too though!
I hope I am not the only one with a feeling of satisfaction watching this video.xd
1:22 Rayman go **SQUISH**
mwahp--mwehp--mwawawaa
Up next - Rayman ROTD: Bombs and nuclear explosions
After that - Rayman ROTD: Weapons of Mass Destruction real-time simulations
Dark Rayman got pissed to the point of nuking the shit out of everyone
every upload on this channel makes me happy :D

Now I wanna see this destruction system but applied to Rayman's character model :P

The game is looking great, can't wait to play it whenever it comes out. Take your time because this looks so much fun and I don't want it to be rushed
Seeing such destruction during action sequences, especially combat would be awesome! Great work 😉

this fits my humor perfectly, from the visuals to the music
rayman watching silently as everything gets destroyed is the best part
That's freaking awesome dude, very curious to see in what ways this will come into play
I like how a really big capsule at 1:20 just blows everything away, including Rayman 😂
I like how the Rayman model gets better and better with every update!
Beautiful...
Rayman using his aggressive feelings, I see.
did u record urself chewing captain crunch cereal????
Impressive how the game is still being developed after so much time

Just wondering, is the music you use in these videos part of the OST?
And speaking of music, will you keep the ones that you made a few years ago?

It's to make designing levels more fun and interesting.
