Something to keep in mind regarding Isaac's characterisation: While he didn't speak in the original, the mission objectives in your log were actually written from his perspective, and they did provide a window into what he was thinking throughout the events of the game (namely, that he was flat-out terrified).
I think my favorites were in the chapter with the fuel and centrifuge where he either didn't believe Hammond on how stuff was broken, but then went "Well okay, he's right about this one I guess..."
I think the way they did it for him talking makes him more human than just a killer that's silent. He only talks when he's talking to people and that's it. I prefer that over just being silent.
7:46 I found the Ishimura to be such a beautiful concept and notion. The idea of humanity tearing and cracking open dead worlds to feast on the ore inside? Sublime.
@@ShahbazBokhari Something I love is how some parts of the remake referencing the moons. I think one of the logs discussing The Chruch of Unitology mentioned "uniting The Brethren". I really hope that not only we get a remake of Dead Space 2 but a straight up reimagining of Dead Space 3. DS3's action feels so disconnected with its story.
@@ernestoaguas3443 Yep, and with technology like planet cracking they DO have a fair shot at taking down those Moons. We never really saw what proper, informed human response is like in Dead Space. I don't count Dead Space 3 since that game couldn't really keep it together
Having never played the original, I always felt like I had missed the boat a bit, even with the discourse surrounding 2 and 3, but I definitely wasn't into that type of game 10+ years ago. That said, things have changed and I am SUPER stoked to finally play this gem. I'm glad my impulse buy last night is solidified by this review. Lights out, headphones on!
I almost never play games at night with the lights off, just because spending too long in a dark room with only the tv for light eventually gives me a headache. But I definitely had to play a few hours with all the lights off with this remake, totally worth it.
Why applause? Do you honestly go in the back of a restaurant and applause the staff after a good meal. The "applause" is the money we paid. It had better be good.
@@ionseven Because pulling together such a good game is HARD, and the fact that it is fully single player game without any mtx, which contains everything at launch is close to unheard of in today's market.
I never considered the horror of what the Ishimura actually IS, being a planet cracking machine, but you're dead on about that. The concept alone is scarier than I gave it credit for.
My first (second?) time playing through the original, this was not lost on me. It made me wonder how much the actions of the Marker was plain evilness, and how much was just... self-defense. And then Dead Space 2 came out.
Yeah it’s really something that we’re so nervous about the religious cult aspect that could potentially harness a doomsday scenario, while overlooking that apparently cooperations have so run amok they have several planetary doomsday devices just to grind a profit.
its genuinely nice to see an anticipated game do well. This seems like such a rare thing nowadays. Every game I hope will succeed ends up being badly flawed or mediocre, and I'm glad this isn't one of those.
@@franjaff6919 Why do people act like the Eastern space is better? The biggest Eastern games are god-awful gacha garbage and Korean mmos designed to be awful unless you spend thousands.
I am absolutely in love playing this. It feels entirely familiar and yet completely brand new all at the same time. Loving all of the newly added areas to explore and how unpredictable the enemies are when you head back through spaces you’ve already cleared to find locked doors with the new security clearance system. The audio is *chiefs kiss*
Have you tried to the force gun yet? It is absolutely glorious! Was never a fan of it in the original but after watching the flesh being literally blasted off a necro's skeleton in one tap there's just no going back :D I'm on NG+ now and can't get enough
I think Isaac talking is a huge improvement. I've never felt silent protagonists work quite well when it's not a self insert. For something like DS or Pokemon or whatever its fine. But Isaac has his own goals and mind, having him be voiced makes more sense. I get it, the first game has its own identity separate from 2, large in part to Isaacs silence echoed further by the silence and loneliness of the Ishimura itself. But for the sake of story and creating a character. His voice is a huge improvement.
I also think making Issac just another guy instead of a silent bad ass benefits the game. He’s not a guy sent in to destroy the evil on the ship. He’s an engineer who is trying his best to survive this nightmare and search for Nicole
I strongly disagree. I haven't played the remake yet but I already know Isaac does not say things like, I gotta go save my bitch or I got it man stfu. I don't care about his feelings. I already know the motivations. I share in those. As far as voice lines all they are going to do is make me feel like I have a damn millennial tagging along whose pathetic commentary doesn't fit what is happening.
This gotta sting for the callisto protocol team with their game getting absolutely bodied by the critics (rightfully so), and now the remaster of their own game getting universal acclaim.
how much of the original visceral team from 2008 is actually on the callisto protocol team though. turtle rock paraded it to the moon and back that they "were the team behind left 4 dead" but the credits showed barely any of the original people were actually left.
I hate you on a personal level. I just replayed the original just to be prepared for this remake. You should be ashamed to never have played the original
The decrease in uploads on this channel have really left a dead space in my heart recently. It's good to finally have you back Austin and the guy who does the voice over too.
100% agree this game is already blowing my mind 1 hour in. Interestingly enough, dead space 2008 was the survival horror that got me into this genre. Never before had i given it a chance. I'm glad I did because this has become one of my favorite genres ever.
@SkillUp 'This being one of the few games in the genre capable of converting players into the Horror Survival genre', is such a true sentiment! It's 100% exactly the case for me; this game (the original, technically) was *the very game* that converted me to the genre. I loved it so much, I literally binged through both 1 and 2 in the same game session. It might have been the very first game that I'd ever done that with.
Slightly over rated for me. I just couldn't be bothered after episode 10 and it's nowhere near as good as Alien isolation. I'm just on my 2nd run on collisto protocol which I'm just having more fun on.
Probably because the devs didn't want to be forced to make some quirky multiplayer shooter for once and actually had the chance to work on a real game.
What a stark contrast from The Callisto Protocol. Great port, scarier, looks better than ever and New Game Plus included. Leading up to release I constantly thought that The Callisto Protocol was going to be the better product between the two and had a whole lot more hype behind it. What a funny world we live in.
I was so excited for both games and like you was skeptical of DS remake and interested in callisto. But then we got more trailers for CP and i knew the combat wasnt going to my thing, along with EA motive showing us how the remake was coming along, thats when I knew I was going to like the remake A LOT more.
That was one of the two things that pissed me off the most about Callisto protocol. It didn’t have a fucking new game plus. It’s 2023. There is zero excuse for that. Like wtf is the point of all the late game only weapons and items if we only have them for 15 minutes? Also, why did it take me only 8 hours to beat the game at maximum security?
Not only did your new game completely fade away into obscurity in a matter of weeks. But the remake of your last game has now become the definitive version of the game 😭
I've just finished binge playing all three DS games on my Series S and I was amazed how good those games still hold up today. I also was kind of a little sad how most modern games are objectively worse. This remake makes me hopeful that gaming might be at a point to take a good look at itself and realise the good and bad parts. And this seems definitely one of the good ones.
You are one of the first reviewers I have heard that wasn’t entirely on board with Issac having a voice in this game, but I can totally understand and appreciate your perspective on the topic. Personally I don’t have an issue with this change as we have pre-established character with DS2 and 3 that I have gotten used to, and it gives the reboot a fresher story experience. It’s awesome that they got the original actor on the project, and from what I heard and can tell, I believe they even used the actors face for this game’s depiction of Isaac.
the voice actor staying the same was great, but i personally really dislike the new look for isaac. i saw a tweet saying they managed to 'white wash a white guy', and honestly yeah. he looks like a youth pastor. nicole also looks *a lot* older than him and theres been a ton of really (sometimes even misogynistic) feedback surrounding her model. its sad because this really seems to be the ONE area where the game is lacking, everything else looks amazing
I still remember when I first played the Dead Space game in 2008 that Asteroid shooting level was hard as fuck and even after all these years still gives me chills. I'm happy to hear that they've changed that level.
Having played through the original on PC ten plus times with the Dead Space Mouse Fix installed, I can say the turret section is a lot less frustrating on PC ...still not the greatest tho
Same here. I think that's where I checked out from the game way back then on PS3. Will be definitely checking this game out...again, but for good reasons.
"...until it eventually hard-crashed my deck." -Sponsored by Manscaped In all seriousness, I am so thankful that this game series is becoming relevant again. In only a few days time for me, I will be able to experience this for the first time in what sounds like the definitive experience. Great review as always, Skill Up!
I was pretty young in 08 when I played the original. I could only play it in increments of an hour or so before I had to switch out the disc in my PS3 to something more lighthearted like Burnout or Ratchet and Clank. It was a damn good game that still holds up to this day and it's fantastic to see Dead Space back again. I hope this leads to an eventual Dead Space 4.
There can't be a 4. We lost at the end of 3. The Moons consumed us all. No, we didn't survive it, it's a coping mechanism if you really think that. They were all over the Earth, not even Isaac can stop that.
Deadspace always held a special place in my heart , in 2008 when this came out it was the same week my grandpa died and while I was staying at home grieving (my school had a policy where you had to stay home for 5 days when a family member died) I spent the whole week playing and replaying it and it honestly helped me through the process by providing an amazing distraction during nights I felt sad needless to say I will be playing this after work today and drinking a cold one in honour of my grandpa lol
I've had a game carry me through loss as well, so I know exactly how you feel. I hope you don't mind a random internet dude sharing in a drink on behalf of your gramps.
i was actually tempted to get callisto over dead space, once they announced you dodge with the left analog stick i was like "nah". glad i didn't pre order lol
@lebrunjemz687 Never pre order. It's actual insanity to pay for a product you not only don't have, but have no proof of the quality of. Especially in an industry that almost every single time takes advantage of the consumer.
AHHHHH... this is MUSIC to my ears. A glowing review from SkillUp is a true badge of honor, and a guaranteed buy for me. Not to mention the blue balls we all still have from the Callisto Protocol. Thanks Ralph!!!
Part of what set Dead Space apart was the internal logic of the Ishimura narrative and design. Everything made sense and your interactions within that space also made sense. So different when you have the so called 'spiritual successor' Calisto creating environments for gameplay only - spike walls with logical function except impaling enemies, monsters locking themselves in chests, messages on walls that couldn't possibly have been written by anyone etc. Good old-fashioned immersion in a game world and SO important for any survival/combat horror. I'm so pleased they pulled this off. Must buy.
The choices you have to make regarding what to provide power to and what to turn off are really clever. It was a really cool experience feeling that sense of dread when after being forced to choose between powering the elevators or the lights, you suddenly realize there are no stairs around lol.
Bro! I've literally been thinking the same thing. EA had to pay off reviewers so everyone can buy the remake. The same thing sort of when they bought the exclusive rights to the NFL.
Not hardly! Calisto is just a very bad game. Bad Combat, bad dodging mechanics. just bad over all. And if EA got caught tampering ,they would be sued beyond belief. EA is not about to go down that rabbit hole.
@@ileria3 Okay, how would EA be sued for making a game they hold the rights to? Nothing you stated made since or hold weight. There's nothing wrong with the gameplay of Callisto. Besides the game was advertised as a melee base so if you bought it that's your fault. The dodging mechanics I don't have a problem with. Could it improve? Yes, but every game should improve on mechanics. Callisto and Dead Space have a lot of things in common. Which makes you and everyone else's biased comments laughable.
@@gianniphipps180 You gotta be kidding me right? Do you have a reading comprehension problem? You guys just stated that you thought EA tampered wit the Reviews just so Calisto would fail to make Dead Space the go to game. FKing learn to read!!! My issues with Calisto are a lot of peoples issues. the game is utter trash.
@@gianniphipps180 Callisto is an awful horror game, has a bare bones repetitive melee system, and wet toilet paper guns. It isn’t a bad game, but it’s not what they claimed it would be. Callisto Protocol flopped because of misleading advertising and self hype, + the awful performance issues on release. They killed their own game, and EA made sure their game did better. EA would have been sued out the ass if they had paid reviewers to trash a game, and we would have heard about it.
I definitely wouldn't say no to that, but I'm kind of hoping this means we may get something new for the franchise, the DS3 DLC ending being how it all ended never sat right for me, but will have to wait and see what happens I guess.
@@Sixstringman I mean Id argue remaking 1 wasn't too necessary either but I wont say no to a Dead Space 2 with a new coat of paint and some randomized horror elements like this one. Just maybe make a new Dead Space 3, no remake can fix what's wrong with that game. XD
Would rather hope they make DLC's for this game. I don't think Dead Sapce 2 is in dire need of a remake. Don't get me wrong, but i think some fresh wind would be better. New stories, environment and enemies.
Total War Warhammer 3 has a similar start up, when you press play in steam the launcher opens with "Play" which is normal or "Continue campaign" which takes you straight to your latest save. It's a small thing but it's nice to have
Darksiders 2 actually pulled off that loading into game trick all the way back in 2012. The main menu would be wherever you last saved and as soon as you hit continue you were playing.
You're missing out on a lot of good games man, I know EA is a shitty company, but there are still plenty of talented devs that have made great games, Titanfall 2 and Jedi Fallen Order are ones that instantly come to mind.
I usually avoid survival horror because I hate gameplay designed around resource starvation. I didn't know this game was different in that, so I'm going to check it out!
Love the description that you "role play a hammer where everything is a nail" and that it is meant as a compliment to why the game and the character of Isaac works as the player avatar.
ya im trying to think cuz i think there some limited games that do it, but im having a hard time remembering. And the thing is most people use gamer profiles anyway so this whole loading the save automatically can be easily done without much frustration.
Interesting to hear that Dead Space has a quick resume feature built in. I play the majority of games now on the Xbox Series X which pretty much has Quick Resume available on every game so its good to see games are adding that as a default for everyone.
Well quick resume is available on console because it sleeps the app but saves the state, and since there's only so many things you can do on a console at any given time it's not hard to do. However dead space is doing something entirely different because the game does this from a fully closed state, not a deep sleep or anything like that. It immediately starts loading the map and game the second you launch it, instead of waiting for you to hit continue. Which is something I have never seen before
@@BlueBloodPenn sort of. the only difference you'd have if this type of quick start is implemented you'd notice that even when you fully close a game it'd still have a quick resume feature. instead of being after you launch it and then essentially minimize it
Haven't watched it all yet, but great work pushing through sickness to bring us this. It's good to know how committed you are to this channel, though I hope you never feel obligated to push through something just to entertain us. Feel better soon!
EA releasing a game, a remake of a beloved survival horror game at that... and it runs perfectly, has been made with love and care, respected the original while also improving on it in almost every way, it's only 31 gigabytes, has new side content and QoL improvements that do not diminish the experience in any way... In the year of our lord 2023. *Something's wrong, I can feel it.*
@@-Aniki- I'm praying this remake sells well, because if so then EA Motive can most likely remake DS2. Maybe in the future they can right all of DS3's wrongs.
I will never forget my first time playing the deadspace og. It was so terrifying, i love horror movies/games but they don’t actually invoke any FEELINGS from me. This game…I remember i would need a break after 30-45 mins of playing because my nerves would get so jittery and fried. I would feel SO RELUCTANT when i was told i had to go to a new section to do this or that because i knew i was about to face new/worse/likely more difficult horrors than previously encountered but because youre so invested you press on despite not really wanting to enter that next long dark hallway. Everything i just said, coming from a video game 14 years ago? Makes me sad when i think if those days versus what we usually get today.
Feels good to finally denounce those cellisto protocol nuts that proclaimed that "gamers can't be pleased" by predicting that this remake was going to also be equally panned, because they think genre defines how good a game is.
I know this may come off as a mere pipe dream, but I really hope after the success of this remake that Dead Space 2 could potentially get a similar treatment at some point
dead space 2 still mechanically plays like a new game. while it would be nice to see the ubermorph but with fancy graphics, the game doesn't really need that treatment. what does need a remake however, is dead space 3. it actually has a lot of cool ideas that could be made better such as the cosmic horror aspect as well as the co op, but man, the enemies really need some editing
Issiac is more than than a basic engineer, as soon as the game starts you find a codex that gives you his backstory his dad was a highly respected and accomplished engineer and Issac followed his footsteps.
I hope they can make a sequel somehow, now that they have the experience for it. Also I love the peeling system so much, strategic dismemberment was always innovative to the point even RE took a lot of notes. But peeling allows proper use of which weapon, which enemy and which limb can be cut, making each encounter more dynamic and fluid perhaps even more so than the original Dead Space. Also I can't help but notice, is the enemy AI a bit improved? They usually didn't make those calculated charges in the classic version.
@@raccoonofmotivation20 It still needs to be profitable first, if motive was able to make the remake relatively cheap a remake for dead space 2 is basically locked in.
@@MitsuniNika Oh hey it's you! Yeah, here to see what one of my trusted reviewer has to say about the game. Glad the reception was positively consistent.
@@TheDarkblue57 Imagine like the board meetings on this tho "People would actually buy our games if we focus on quality and release a complete package? Why didn't we thought of that sooner?!"
9:57 I completely disagree with this point, the sequels give Isaac a personality and the remake keeps this personality, unless you never played the sequel, it's weird to complain about hearing Isaac speak and converse as if it's for the first time. They decided to make him speak years ago. And it adds a lot more to the narrative, having him voice his own opinions or even make his own decisions. Like in the original Daniel's orders you to fix the comms array but in this game Isaac does it himself. He also goes on the Valor of his own volition and has the idea of launching the beacon on the asteroid out to space. These things elevate the persona that they have been building with Isaac, especially since they decided to introduce the ideas of the marker and unitology much earlier in the story
Between Star Wars Squadrons and this, EA Motive is very quickly becoming a standout dev team in this industry. I’m very keen to see what they do with that Iron Man game now. I’ve never played a Dead Space game but as a big RE fan I’m definitely gonna pick this up.
Not interested in a remake, but hearing that they brought back the DS2 stomp instantly has my love That stellar audiovisual feedback of wildly stomping the shit out of a monster with the camera shaking and Isaac audibly grunting "FUCK, DIE" was pure kino for 2011
@@MtlRocker the stomp was in the original, but DS2 had a slighty different stomp. it was faster from what I remember and Isaac was also a little more vocal when stomping.
@@MtlRocker no, Isaac would step forward with either his right or left foot, stomp, and then go back into neutral. The difference is that in DS2, the stomp can be chained into repeated stomps and he would get fucking pissed, it was great
@@MtlRocker it was, but both the stomp and the punch in dead space 1 were basically unusable in combat they were extremely slow, if you didnt kill them in the first hit you were definitely getting hit back. You can probably stomp 3 or 4 times in the remake or ds2/ds3 for every 1 stomp in the original
After the Callisto protocol I was pretty worried and hesitant to get this but all the reviews are good so I’m about to sit down and play it, never played the originals so pretty excited 😁
Enjoy man- I suggest you play this remake first, then play the original and be amazed at how well it holds up- and then the progression to DS2 will seem appropriate. Perfection
The first time I saw one of your reviews, I thought "Who wants to watch a 20+ minute long video? Screw that." Now I prefer your reviews over everyone elses. Good stuff, and glad this rebuild is as good as we hoped it would be.
New to the channel but skillup can be funny as hell sometimes lol. Also, it's hilarious how uncomfortable it makes the people that have to promote it lol
I really want to play this remake but $70 is a very hard sell for a remake of a game. I have played through multiple times. So I estimate my first playthrough of this remake to take around 6 to 8 hours since I'm familiar with the levels and combat already, Which is a steep price point for the amount of game time you get. Going to have to wait for the game to drop down to $40 during the summer sale.
The New Game+ and secret ending stuff has me sold for replayability, but I agree the price is steep. Not because this game isn't worth it, just because games in general are hugely over priced. Like most people I'll be waiting for steep sales.
The savefile preloading straight into gameplay has got to be one of the coolest, most amazing QoL features I've ever seen in a videogame ever. Edit: Also, I do respectfully disagree with Isaac's voice ruining immersion. For me, Isaac's voice enhances immersion because it finally completes him as a character, as a person: no longer is he an obvious video game self-insert character attempt that gets ordered around like a gofer by everyone else, he's now a space engineer with agency, with personality. A lot of my favorite survival horror games tend to have defined characters in them, from Leon S. Kennedy to Ethan Winters to Sebastian Castellanos to LSTER, etc. I don't want to get immersed by trying to fill in their shoes, I want to be immersed by me guiding their actions and seeing how they react.
I agree! Back in the day I played Dead Space 2 and then the first and I didn't manage to finish Dead Space 1 because Isaac didn't sound like a person anymore, but like a puppet that blindly followed orders.
A lot of the “changes” are stuff implemented in Dead Space 2 tho… But I do love how the level clearance thing makes it like a Metroidvania in a way. I’m one of the people that was like “Dead Space” does not need a remake. But now that I watched this review, I’m def actually excited to get the remake.
After beating this game and immediately starting NG+ this is 100% worth it. An overall complete improvement. I personally thought that the Voice actor that played Issac did it perfectly and it fleshed out the story in a more believable way. He just sounded so awesome with the helmet on. Also the old game still holds up and is still available to play with a silent Isaac.
I’ve never played this game or anything like it but I’ve only heard great things about the original. I don’t play survival horror like this but Im giving this a go because of all the recommendations! ❤️👍🏾
It was the quality of the Nova Wireless Pro headset I bought from SteelSeries using code SKILLUP that made me notice Ralph's voice sounded off... then he mentioned he was sick in the next video. Way to power through this video narration my guy!
Not going down the VR route feels like a missed opportunity for the reboot. That being said, it looks like I’m going to buy Dead Space for the third time and boot it up for the fifth time. Looking forward to it 😊

As someone playing through the Callisto Protocol right now and enjoying it, it makes me glad to know this means the Dead Space remake is gonna be phenomenal when I pick it up.
Dude the darkness is in my top 5 easily. I've beat it like 6 times and the story is so good it hits hard every time. Darkness 2 is also awesome but doesn't have that same feeling
I would say Deadspace and Resident Evil 4 are the definitive games in this genre full stop. To me they are like Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Trigger, Nioh, Dragons Dogma, Call of Duty modern warfare, Super Smash brothers melee, Golden eye or a host of other games that are so well made that they become timeless. I just bought Deadspace for the PS5 over Resident evil 4. For me, the separation between the two has always been: The combat is better in Deadspace but the story and comedy was better in Resident evil 4. Seeing as how the comedy was dialed back in the RE4 remake it was an easy decision.
I appreciate the added darkness but graphically the game doesn't always look too great. There is zero bounce lighting or global illumination, and I think that would have added a lot of atmosphere. It would make it less pitch black, but it would still be moody and scary
Step 1: Buy OG dead space for 5$. Step 2: Download reshade for lights and HQ texture. Step 3: Apply those. Step 4: Good job, you have a free "Dead space remake" without spending 60$. Is incredible that people fall for this shit. But hey, this "game" Is obviously "patch of the year" because of the weapons modification.
the worst part is that the original game is still there for people to buy and it still plays and looks great, the fact that vg journalists keep praising these unnecessary remakes means we'll get more and more of the same shit
@@sub4fun.- The original dead space was pretty clunky, on pc you pretty much had to mod it to make it not handle terribly. Artstyle wise it holds up well but visually it has not aged quite as good. If this remake lets the dead space universe come back to life then I can forgive it's redundancy.
Just an fyi, there's a number of games on PS5 that, due to the activity cards, allow you to skip the intro videos/credits when booting up a game and allow you to go straight to the continue option. Some games even allow you to skip even the "load game" menu and jump straight into gameplay from the home screen, like Ghost of Tsushima. If you select "Resume Activity" on GoT it can go from the PS5 home screen (with the game *NOT* on standby) to you in gameplay in like 5-10 seconds. More developers need to take advantage of this and let us skip the "New Game/Load Game" screen and get straight into our most recent save from the PS5 home menu
For those that can't get enough of Dead Space, you should definitely check out the Dead Space anime movie. It pairs so well with the game and really fleshes out the world. Also hyper violent ;)

Right! I bet EA wasn't even thinking about a remake until they heard about Callisto in working...
Must buy.
Considering what I've heard from the reviewers generally i think this Remake is exactly what I wanted it to be. Congratulations to the team.

Edit:
Also, I do respectfully disagree with Isaac's voice ruining immersion.
I agree!
Back in the day I played Dead Space 2 and then the first and
I didn't manage to finish Dead Space 1 because Isaac didn't sound like a person anymore, but like a puppet that blindly followed orders.
A lot of the “changes” are stuff implemented in Dead Space 2 tho…
But I do love how the level clearance thing makes it like a Metroidvania in a way.
All your reviews are so throurough and well put together. Love it
Just 25 minutes away from this masterpiece launching. Can’t wait!!
I’ve never played this game or anything like it but I’ve only heard great things about the original. I don’t play survival horror like this but Im giving this a go because of all the recommendations! ❤️👍🏾
You are in for a treat. I'm not the hugest fan of survival horror games. But this one has stuck around.
@@MtlRocker Good to hear! Im downloading it now.
Looking forward to it 😊
I don’t think anyone thought a Dead Space Remake made by EA would turn out this good. A truly amazing game that possibly sets the bar for all other future AAA video game remakes.
Hey now, they somehow miraculously managed to do a great job at C&C as well.
Just like the Resident Evil Remake did as well.
haven't played this remake but I LOVED this game back in the day
and all you're sharing in this video is hyping me up and can't wait till i get my hands on this game cause i have the feeling i will adore it.
I strongly recommend people to like and subscribe to this amazing Channel.
As someone playing through the Callisto Protocol right now and enjoying it, it makes me glad to know this means the Dead Space remake is gonna be phenomenal when I pick it up.
The next game I wanna see get this kind of remake treatment is “The Darkness“. That game was so underrated. Criminally underrated.
Dude the darkness is in my top 5 easily. I've beat it like 6 times and the story is so good it hits hard every time. Darkness 2 is also awesome but doesn't have that same feeling
I'm so happy one of my favorite games of all time is getting so much love. 😊
Have it downloaded and ready to go but have to work all day. Can’t wait to get home tonight. 🤩
Let’s go Shilly!!! Hope life of good. Glad you’re back
I would say Deadspace and Resident Evil 4 are the definitive games in this genre full stop.
I have to say that you truly are a wordsmith this is one of the best reviews I have ever seen
I’m glad that horror games are going back to its root. I’m so tired of these hide & seek type of horror games with no weapons
And the story is all a dream some girl with bad voice acting is having because of trauma
It won't look even half as good as the remake.
the worst part is that the original game is still there for people to buy and it still plays and looks great, the fact that vg journalists keep praising these unnecessary remakes means we'll get more and more of the same shit
@@spaceageGecko yeah, you're part of the problem
@@sub4fun.- I do love me some tribalism.
I'm glad this turned out well, but no way I'm paying full price for a game I already played.
I never played it before you think it’s worth it?
@@anthonygray6570 Personally I'd wait until it's on sale which probably won't be a long wait.
@@anthonygray6570 The first 2 games are among the best ever released survivor horror games, everyone is saying this is a great improvement. If you dont want to pay full price for this one than you should not want to pay full price for any game in my opinion (what is fine), but if you are open to paying full price than there is no reason not to for this one
@@anthonygray6570 if you like this genre, it's one of the best ever made. It's worth the money especially if you've never played it
@@FelipeFerreira-wk5nv I bought it. Shit my pants multiple times. Have no money for new pants.
‘Broadly excellent PC performance’
FPS counter says otherwise lol
Speedy Recovery, Ralph! Glad the Remake turned out great for all the fans that were looking forward to this.
This warms my heart. Finally a great game which delivers everything at a set price. Who would've guessed such a game would be published by EA. Single player to boot.
Not only was audio for necromorphs important but just the atmospheric sounds and whispers from behind you or speakers is phenomenal
Just the title is enough, that's what I love about this channel, right on point, well done guys
Not my kind of game usually but your enthusiasm in your review has me considering buying and trying it.
Dead Space 2023 told Callisto Protocol to hold his beer. (Thanks for showing them how it's done!)
Damn, I never played the original and I never planned on playing this because I thought it was going to be just a reskin but hearing that they changed the bad parts and changed it for the better makes me excited. I’m gonna buy this
