- A blizzard warning continues for the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. High winds moving from east to west across Lake Superior. This reverse flow on the north side of the low is bringing heavy wet show, high winds and at times white out conditions and large waves, depending on your location.
Shot Description
Footage of the hazardous drive on Interstate 35 just south of Duluth, MN of vehicles in the ditch and tree's down from the heavy wet snow.
Footage of snow plows trying to keep up with the heavy snow in the higher elevations around Duluth.
Footage of huge waves at Canal Park in Duluth where the air temp is warmer due to the warm water from the lake.

You have to hand it to the Minnesota DOT plow driver's! Within 24 hours the roads are clear. Thanks for all the hard work!
Actually north of Duluth the St. Louis county roads were in far better shape Friday than the state highways. Black showing vs. 2 lanes of greasy hard packed snow with plow banks in the middle of the passing lane. MNDOT always seems to be caught by surprise for the first storm.
I still wouldn't envy eithers' job during a storm.
A tow truck in the ditch is an ominous sign
Or it could just be a bad driver.
Or a snow plow
Amazing video.. I’m sure we will get our snow in January/February
since when did they start surfing on Lake Superior? I'm from MN & this is news to me!
they've been doing that for decades during the big winter storms and summertime storms
yep you can not fix stupid
@@StormChasingVideo I live down in the cities & don't make it up to Duluth too often...thats something i'd like to see!
Usually hard to surf on the ice.
All that wind and I live about 60 miles southeast of Duluth Mn and the wind hasn't been blowing very much here in Grand View Wi.
And this is why it's called "minnesnowta!!" I can only imagine what it had to be like climbing up the hills along the west, northwest & southwest side (where that ski reseort is) of dulluth, mn in this stuff!!
Anyone want to go waterskiing?
The surfers are nuts. Frost bite happens very fast. Their faces are exposed.
I’m sure they know a lot more about it than you
@@josephs8364 YA THEY KNOW ABOUT GETTING FROSTBITE!...SEVERAL WERE TREATED AT ST LUKES IN THE PAST 24 HOURS!!
@@josephs8364 facts
The temperature in Duluth yesterday was 35°. Not that cold.
@@carolevans7406 about the same temp as the lake
i sure would not like surf in that weather!!!
at 2:50: for the person flying the flag. It was clearly damaged. Please review the US flag code (inclement weather); .. The flag should not be subject to weather damage, so it should not be displayed during rain, snow and wind storms unless it is an all-weather flag. etc. etc.
I would rather them fly a damaged flag than not fly one at all
That flag was subjected to much more abuse by the former administration, I’m sure a little blowing is a welcome change compared to terrorist Americans…
Calm down there chief. It will be alright
Better talk to the Army Corp office up there, it is at the office in Canal Park.
@@leroyjenkins1380 my thoughts exactly, must not have enough snow to shovel ha
