Carp Fishing - A Bait Makers Diary #3
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 сер 2019
- Welcome to episode 3 of my Bait Makers diary. It's been another busy one as usual but like the previous episodes we just took the camera with us and captured life along the way. The highs and lows, the fun and the games and of course everything in between.
This episode covers spawning carp, the opening BBQ and some basics of boilie making and some of the ingredients we use.
So once again we have a little competition, the prize is a bundle of Baitworks goodies. All you have to do is name the strain of the carp I catch during the opening night and leave your answer in the comments below.
You can also listen to our monthly carp fishing podcast here - baitworks.libsyn.com

Cheers Jamie
Fantastic footage, Great watch....just love the Cotswolds
Another fab vlog, love watching these. Not long found the channel and can't stop watching!! Great work Mark and team 👍
Great diary piece mate. Best one so far. Always look forward to them, loved the bit on the bait and the factory. Good luck in the pursuit 🙏👍🏼
Thanks Rob, appreciate the positive feedback mate.
We thoroughly enjoyed #3 as we have the other 2, great work Mark & Mike. We’re both big fans of baitworks and it’s great to get an insight into the background work from films like this, we’re looking forward to #4. 👍🏻😉🎣
Thanks Jo, glad you enjoyed it. We'll keep making them as long as people enjoy watching them. We appreciate the feedback as always. Cheers Team Baitworks
the best diary piece yet mate, superb. took me right back to the early 90's with the BBQ and drawing for swims! great stuff!
wow thanks for great feedback Gary, glad you liked it mate. Yes the BBQ's always remind me of the good old days, just good friends, having a good time, and not taking it to seriously hey.
@@BaitworksTV very true mate, it is a sad problem of these times that things have become more"self promoting"other than the camaraderie of yesteryear but hay! it is what you make it i guess... loved the bait segment also, very interesting and i hope you continue with that.
I came across this channel last week? And found it extremely interesting and wondered where this place was? Lucky I watched it all the way through and found it well interesting! So I looked them up on google and found there address! And lucky it’s only just up the road from me, so paid a visit and bought all for my next session and so pleased as I had to get all my stuff for home delivery from another supplier up the country!
Well I’m so chuffed there is a company just 20mins away thanks guys I will be seeing you again soon.
thanks for the feedback Kris, pop in whenever mate we are open daily.
Excellent piece. Thanks Mark. We've got 9 Harrows in our syndicate. Baby Scruffy Fins and Tysons... And growing like stink. A great addition to your water indeed.
Thanks Leigh, yes those harrows are lovely hey. Protecting the future, in keeping with the past.
Looks like a Great Lake/syndicate👍 another brilliant watch!
cheers Mike
Dropped into your bait this year after watching Simon Scott talk about yourself and you bait the royal marine being my weapon of choice 👌👍
Great stuff Graham hope your having a few mate.
Great as always but I would like to point out flesh isn’t fibrous, plant based foods are. That’s why when You cut out calories from plant/wheat based products your stool changes dramatically.
Another cracking video Mark. A great insight to the whole process of bait making, found that very interesting. Hope yourself and Claire are still staying strong bud. Harrow strain (mirror). 👍🎣
Thanks for the kind words Kurt, yes all is well thanks. Glad you enjoyed the bait making section also.
Brilliant as always! Cannot wait for the next one
Cheers James, will look forward to watching yours later also mate.
Great watch and very interesting to hear about the baits.
Thank you, always good to talk about little balls!!
Great watch and a fantastic insight into what makes Baitworks so special, been on it for about 6yrs now and in my opinion it's the best bait money can buy, wouldn't use anything else 👍🏻🎣🐳#works
Thanks for the kind feedback Paul, glad you enjoyed it.
Harrow strain from VS. Really enjoying the diary pieces keep it up Mark😀🤘🎣
Thanks Ross will do mate.
Carp was harrow strain from VS fisheries. Really good video, love the fact the bait attracts so many naturals to form a naturally baited area!
Glad you enjoyed it mate, thanks for the feedback and yes all three baits in the range are magnets for the naturals! #edge :)
Excellent Mark, enjoyed watching that.
Cheers Ben, appreciate the feedback mate.
Another great video, The BBQ looked Ace! & Harrow strain mirror perfect! 🎣
BBQ was superb!!
Now, that Mark, is a very fetching cardi!!! 😉
Your diary pieces compliment the podcasts very well 👍🏼 great watch and great listen respectively

Quality video again mark keep them coming 💪
Harrow strain from VS fisheries. Great to hear more about the ingredients. Baitworks have taken all the confusion out of bait for me. I know I'm using the best quality and can focus on other things. Love the Atlantic heat/hot fish oil and scent from hell
Great combo mate, one I use all the time. Thanks for the kind feedback mate.

Cheers Pete
Great stuff again mark and team
Thanks Kev
Harrow strain from vs fisheries, another awsome video mark.
great footage and insight into good quality bait, awesome syndicate like lakes used to be, and its great to see some lakes still have a close season so the carp can recover! now sell me your soundmasters!!! been after a set for yrs : )
Hahaha the old soundmasters, yes these are like rocking horse poo these days and I think I may have the only remote set around. I love the old germans, shame they don't make they anymore hey. Glad you enjoyed the diary also mate and yes the close season is a must in my eyes.
@@BaitworksTV yes make sure you keep hold of them, and l totally agree it is a must but unfortunatly its about money now with most lakes! shame.
@@THREEo3 Yes mate thats it sadly.
top video! Atlantic heat is also a top barbel bait, lovely stuff
Cheers for the feedback Dan, yes the HEAT and MARINE have been outstanding Barbel baits for those in the know :)
Excellent video. Thank you for the section on bait. I know you don't like self promotion but view it as educating us, understanding what we are doing with our bait and why will produce better anglers and healthier fish. The podcast is exceptional too. You and Mike capture the heart of what it means to go fishing. That's enough praise, let's balance it by saying that blue cardigan has to go. I don't care how lucky it is, it's just not worth it :)
hahaha, what the blue Cardigan...... thats my mega lucky garment, it has to stay until I catch this one old at least. Also thats very nice words mate and we appreciate the feedback.
Another great video 👍🏻. Harrow strain from VS fisheries. Good luck everyone
Cheers Samuel
Very interesting piece on the bait and how you help recondition the fish post spawning
By giving them a protein content. This help the fish repairs tissue damage from the spawning process. This keeps the fish in tip top condition for the summer and long winter ahead.
Harrow strain from vs fisheries gl to everyone and brilliant episode 👌
Harrow strain from vs love the vids and podcasts keep up the good work 👍🏻
It’s Harrow strain from vs fishery’s love the diary’s keep em coming mate think the work and bait you do is fantastic

Great information and top content. You've just hooked a subscriber going to have a look at the rest of the vlogs/ vids. 👍
Thanks Rich, glad you enjoy our blogs mate. Take a look at episode 4 as I do some swimming with carp. All the best.
Top job guys! 👍 Harrow strain fish from VS Fisheries.
Nice one John
Brilliant 🎣😎
thanks Andrew
It’s great that you close the lakes to help the fish there still should be a closed period after spawning
It's vital on my opinion mate, they need a rest and so does the lake and its nature.
The strain is a harrow, awesome vids
Thank you.
Harrow strain from vs fisheries 👍 great video boys love using #baitworks
Great video 👍
Cheers Doug, glad you enjoyed it mate.
Top video as always 👍
Glad you liked it Greg, that was quick viewing mate.
Just finished watching it haha 👍😁
Harrow strain mirror 😍👊
Thank you Aaron
Hi Mark & Crew;
Are the Bite-Alarms, (featured with the Swan-Neck Buzzer Bars) 'Available' to Buy within the Tackle-trade (etc) !?
Any 'feedback' gratefully received
From a 'Subcriber'.
Hi Paul, sadly not mate, these are German Sound Masters. You see them pop up from time to time on old skool for sale sites but I had mine converted to work off a sounder box and I think they may be one of only a few like this in the world as no one wants to touch them when it comes to conversations.
Great video mate would love if you get do more on bait
Thanks Ray, we'll def do some in future diary's fella.
Harrow from VS fisheries. Keep up the great content!
Cheers Alasdair, appreciate the feedback mate
Lovely video, Mark, hope you get the old one..
Cheers Tim, me to mate, I'm close......
Harrow strain from Vs fisheries not used any of your bait yet but keen to try
Harrow strain from vs fisheries 😊🎣
Harrow variety 👍🏻🐳
Harrow strain from VS fisheries and what some fish they produce
Creamino boilies? When are they available to buy. Great video! Keep up the good work
@sureshotgazza1 1 yeh I've got the liquid but was wondering when they were going to put the boilies up for sale
@@df1991. Hi mate, these are being tested and we are aiming for a release April next year, cheers Baitworks
Top video as always Mark! The fish are Harrow strain 👍
Also can someone please tell me what the pipework does on the back of the boat at the beginning of the vid. I've seen it done before but have no idea!
Chers Iain, its just a handle really mate.
@@BaitworksTV oh as simple as that! 😄 Thanks mate
@@iainjamieson2748 Theres a bit of wood fastened to the railings that you can secure a outboard on.
@@BaitworksTV oh ok that makes sense, generally those boats don't have anywhere for an outboard do they. 👍 Cheers lads
Great watch but when are you releasing the creamino boilies ??🙃 Bin using the boilie soak and its top noch 🔥👍
Thank you Shaun, we are looking to release these in spring 2020
@@BaitworksTV cheers cant wait to get my hands on some of them goin by the additives 🔥
1st class as usual 👏 Harrow Strain
Cheers James, glad you enjoyed the diary mate.
how come oils are used to attract carp when you said yourself that they can only detect water soluble substances?
Oils can not be detected but the compounds within can be. The Oil is a great vehicle to transport all manner of stimulants that can slowly leach out of the oil carrier.
@@BaitworksTV ok i see thanks..what are those compounds called twithin the oil?
U have something very special there mark
Thanks mate, its taken a long time to create but we are getting somewhere now and the lakes are maturing well. It's lovely to see.
Mark are dryd meal worms any good in a bait, Iv been useing them on my bait for a while now I coat the boile in a liquid an add boile crumb an crushed up meal worm to coat the baits it floats up through the water colum , any goodness in um
Not sure to be fair, if anything some dried particles rising off your baits will be attractive and I'm sure the carp will investigate. Have you caught a few on this method?
@@BaitworksTV iv had um to 39.8 and a few repeat captures
@@mattthetaffy6702 brilliant, I think you've answered your own question with results like that. well done.
@@BaitworksTV I was curious if there was any goodness in them lol.. might of given my edge away lol :p
@@mattthetaffy6702 They would have a high protein content to them. As long as they are crushed then they should release some attractive free aminos.
harrow strain🥰🥰🥰🥰
Holy banana hammock @13:03!
what have we missed? haha
Brilliant video # baitworks
Thank you Jordan
Harrow Strain from VS Fisheries good luck everybody

Harrow strain (VS Fisheries)
Pukka video and what a lake ;-)
Thanks David
Harrow strain from vs fisheries 👍🏾
Fantastic video as always great work great bait can I join your syndicate 😉😉
Thank you Richard
Why are boilies so cheep to make but very expensive to buy especially when I’m buying a couple of 5kg bags
Explore With Ant they have to make profit somehow, it’s not just the cost of manufacturing but also research, development, shipping and additional costs like paying staff, rent, etc, its cheap to make yourself and if you have the time, make your own, it will save you money but will take a considerable amount of time compared to buying a couple bags from a shop that are tried and tested

Nice bro
how much Weed was smoked in the filming of this video? ;)
Nothing was smoked but there were kilos of the stuff in the lake. The carp love it.
