The soundtrack recording session for the movie Harum Scarum took place over three days at RCA’s studio B in Nashville between 24 and 26 March 1965. At this point it was almost two years since Elvis had been recording at a non-soundtrack session and it would be over a year before he would do so again. This circumstantially enforced hiatus was due to the constant conveyor belt of soundtrack recordings that were necessary leaving no spare time for a regular session.
Only one song, Shake That Tambourine, was recorded on the first day but this song was the first of five recorded on the second day. After four takes a satisfactory master was not achieved and so it was decided to manufacture a spliced master. This was achieved by using the first 1 minute and thirty three seconds of take three with the remainder from take four.
As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
One of my favorite Elvis Movies and Soundtrack Albums, i'm NOT kiddin' 😉
::🤍Another beautiful and special ballad sung wonderfully with Elvis' operatic voice full of sad yet beautiful and heartfelt emotions!!!...I love the most fantastic and magnificent sounding The RCA Spliced Master and thank you so much Leon for this precious video. 💜°°°💚°°°🤍
Love that little yawn at the beginning.l.and then (for me) every take is special. I adore this song…should have been a hit but sadly many outside the Elvis world (and some inside) haven’t even heard it. As always some great songs in the movies. Love this Leon,
100th like 🌟💖🌟
Thank you Leon as always for all that you do 🙏
TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & peace ✌& blessings to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕
Elvis was so excited of this film that he wore movie make-up when coming home. In the end he was disappointed. Not a Valentino film after all. Bought this soundtrack 42 years ago but havent listened to it since then. Six more sountracks after this but last one jeopardized Elvis's singing career selling only 100 000 copies. So "Speedway" was his last soundtrack...❤
I suppose "Suppose" should've been included in the movie. Elvis liked partucularly that song as do I... TLC ❤
who would have put a kopeck on this song a few years ago? she's coming back now. I have always loved this song and listening to it I can easily see Elvis' interpretation in the film. your channel is great
Love this.. should have been a single on the radio!! Voicals amazing, plus he's incredibly handsome/ beautiful... Perfection!!!!! God given talent and charisma!
❤❤❤❤love elvis Presley here in Ireland 😊😊😊😊❤always ❤❤❤❤😊
Who doesn't love Elvis I feel sorry for the ones who don't they don't know what they're missing he was and is the greatest entertainer that ever lived in my opinion and I'm sticking to it
Good movie song. Great outtakes thanks Leon 🎤🇫🇮
I love that song and I love that movie and I love the Elvis Presley
So many incredible songs, this is such a beautiful song and Elvis makes you feel it. He had an such an operatic voice.
LOVE ELVIS SO MUCH COULD LISTEN TO HIM ALL DAY❤❤❤
Although this song was sung with Elvis' operatic voice, I think It's an unusual song that makes me wonder what genre of music it belongs to. And since there's no description from Leon, I'm very curious about what parts were joined together to make The RCA Spliced Master. Thanks for sharing Leon. ***💞***💛***🤍***💜***💚
Fantastic song and Elvis in great voice❤.
🎧😻👍, you really give us so much of Elvis. Always great sound and choices. God bless you!
Смотрю всё, что есть на вашем канале, отличная работа всегда! Спасибо за удовольствие
Beautiful song and amazing performance 🎵🎶
Como não amar esse ser que veio ao mundo com uma voz tão marcante e uma beleza estonteante sem igual ❤
Great song and Elvis well that’s why he’s the king, was wondering what spliced means?
Splicing is the practice of using parts of more than one take to create a master. In this case the master was created by using the first 1 minute and thirty three seconds of take three with the remainder from take four.
@@TheUltimateElvisChannelbyLeon thanks for the info, I would personally find it very difficult to choose cz most takes sound fantastic in their own right’s
