Been watching his career since he was 16 yrs old. Amazed and not surprised he's come so far in career and journey as an out and proud gay man. Str8 people don't realize we have to "come out" every day when we don't hide ourselves behind the artificial walls. Why did a country like China, with its total disrespect and disregard of human rights and freedoms, be even considered for staging the Olympic Games? The idea of the Games is to bring everyone together in the harmony of sport, a concept which the Chinese government has no understanding of or desire to uphold. Good on an athlete like Tom for saying it as it is. Athletes could fear for their freedoms or even their lives, including those of fellow athletes, in particular the Chinese participants, if a perceived wrong word or action offends the Communist Party. Who gains from this decision?

It was clearly the right decision for him and both an example of how being your own person can help you be your own person despite the adversity you some times face. I low key love the fact that he brought the medals and they get no attention - as what matters in that moment was the knitting - Only in the Nordics would that happen =D

At USSR, workers have proven that they can live without the rich.
But mind you, not a single rich man has proved that he can live without workers...

I think Churchill said that in Capitalism you have unequal distribution of the wealth, but in Communism you have equal distribution of the poverty.

Lets be fair, we all knew Tom was gay in GB before he came out, so it wasn't exactly earth shattering news and for the vast majority we couldn't care less and for that small amount of people who did? Well their opinion isn't worth listening too and should be shouted down at every opportunity

Agree. He’s just a nice guy. If you don’t like him, the problem is yours

Actually what made people think or feel or know he is gay before coming out?

Ok,”let’s be fair”, most straight people, especially conservatives, don’t have gaydar and are very happy living in willful ignorance. There’s an important reason to come out publicly.
