Mike Ehrmantraut and Saul Goodman are starkly different characters with very different mannerisms, yet they both are able to get what they want and recover from seemingly hopeless and difficult situations. For example, despite his age and seemingly frail appearance, Mike should have been punked by the gangsters he is surrounded with, but he has this calmness, confidence, and ruthless mannerisms that inspire fear into his adversaries and "coworkers" so to speak. Saul is a sleazy person who is very hard to trust when you look at all of the dishonest and sly things he's done in the past. Yet he still is able to use his charismatic and confident personality to get what he wants without much resistance. For example, he is able to project confidence and power, even when he has little or none (Tuco and the "skateboard scamming" brothers negotiation in the desert). Just some suggestions for some characters you guys could break down in future analysis!
1. I can vouch for this working. Several years ago I stood up to a guy who was not behaving in a way I appreciated. Despite him being taller than me and apparently in better shape,* he backed down when I stood my ground. (*In better shape than me, except for teeth. As part of my standing up to him I told him to grow some teeth. I guess I'm lucky he didn't smack me for that, but I was ready.) 2. Memento mori and thinking about dying in five years. That one hit home.
This can escalate the situation. Look to the left or right to break the tension. This allows you to stand your ground while communicating that you want to solve ithe conflict without a fight.

5:12 You missed the point in Season 3... Walt is playing a game and is manipulative. He makes other believe he is weak, but in reality he his playing his cards until he drop his hand on the table while being all-in. That moment is where Mike understood he got played... he tells everyone in Season 4 that the last thing he needs is for Walt to speak... because he always find a way to manipulate people the way he wants. Jesse is a good example. He understood at one point that he got played.... the whole time.... even if Walt truly care for him as much as a step son.
That's actually how I got so much more confident. I've gotten out of situations where I should have died three times now; the most recent situation I had years to come to terms with it, and multiple hospitals and specialists told me to just make myself comfortable. I was able to recover, and having already come to terms with my mortality, nothing else seems really risky anymore. What's the worst thing that could happen if I put myself out there--I could die? I'm supposed to be dead! 🤣
#4 just reminds me of a self made quote I always use to tell if you have a good villain, if you’re gonna act like you’re better than everyone else, you have to BE better than them

One of the best pueces of advice I have is to be as selectively honest as possible. Be honest as much as possible. Especially with the bigger problems, because they only get bigger. I say selective because I never share more than I have to. This often leads to people sharing with you. But you need to tight lipped. I decided to take the thumbnail's advice and purchased my first pair of glasses, despite not needing them to see. So far I've noticed that wearing them makes my vision blurry and I keep bumping into walls, trees, and inconveniently placed garden rakes, and although my glasses might now be broken and my head bruised, at least people won't think I'm weak anymore
I dont usually comment on your videos but I have a question. I don't think being charming and charismatic is that difficult but what if you're an introvert? I find myself being more extrovert to charm people, more engaging and out there but typically I'm more closed off and to myself. But it gets tiring to put that front up for so long. Eventually I fall back into antisocial mode and then my first impression to people are I'm intimidating or antisocial. What can I do to prevent this? Or bounce back from it?
how bout you spread your extrovert effort. Instead of dishing it all at once then feeling depleted, be the silent type and throw a good word here and there to cheer people up
Hi...great video. Could you do some Video about how Saul Goodman /Jimmy McGill makes all people likes him.? Everybody who loved this video sure will enjoy with such idea.
Can you do a breakdown of Bryan himself and not his Walter white character? First time watching an interview recently and he captures you when he talks.
#1 -- one practical problem with continuous eye contact -- you're unprepared for surprise attacks. Every fighter says you look at the shoulders to detect torso changes telegraphing attacks. Also you missed with #1: Don't smile. Smiling has evolutionary roots signaling you're NOT trying to start conflict. Primatologists see this with bonobos trying to defuse conflict.
We badly need psychological break down of 'Barney Stinson' From How i Met your Mother.. Notice how he used 'we' instead of 'I' to signify not only his own need but also the need of the other viewers who may benefit from it. When using 'we' instead of 'I' in any social situation makes your case more substantial because it shows the will of other people as well. You might have often observed how some managers take all the credit for a project and leave the employees discouraged. Contrast to this, a manager who shares the credit with his entire team gets the appreciation of his subordinates and greater respect from the upper management as well.
The eye contact thing is kinda like with dogs. When I want to assert dominance with my dogs I always look at them right in the eyes, the always submit btw.

Instead of dishing it all at once then feeling depleted, be the silent type and throw a good word here and there to cheer people up
@@luketimewalker Thanks! That sounds like really great advice 🤔I guess I have been doing just a little too much. I appreciate your help!
@@adamstrangelove1081 just my educated guess hehe! Do come back to tell how it goes in a while ;)
Hi...great video. Could you do some Video about how Saul Goodman /Jimmy McGill makes all people likes him.? Everybody who loved this video sure will enjoy with such idea.
I recently discovered by just staying silent in situations, people percieved me as someone who had more confidence, kind of a hack.
Can we get a video on why Jeff Goldblum is so charismatic?
Thanks for the break bad promo im watching it
My favorite part of Walt's story is how he poisoned a child
Can you do a breakdown of Bryan himself and not his Walter white character? First time watching an interview recently and he captures you when he talks.
Memento Mori is the philosophies behind every strong & productive person
Yall ever noticed how the thumbnail changed from "Copy this habit" to "The stoic method"
Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling are next
#1 -- one practical problem with continuous eye contact -- you're unprepared for surprise attacks. Every fighter says you look at the shoulders to detect torso changes telegraphing attacks.
Also you missed with #1: Don't smile. Smiling has evolutionary roots signaling you're NOT trying to start conflict. Primatologists see this with bonobos trying to defuse conflict.
Memento Mori has a second part,
Memento vivere "remember to live" together Memento Mori: Memento Vivere "remember you must die, so remember to live"
I liked Mike more, he was always calm no matter the situation.
By the end of your first year at a job you should be able to tell your boss "Say my name"
Rick Grimes would do this too in the Walking Dead too. Very good vid and advice. Thank you.
Please can you do a video on confidently facilitating a workshop / work event
Please do an analysis on Lalo Salamanca. He's definitely the most worthy personality to get into.
I needed this today
"You don't want to be like Walter in everyway"
*Naah man, i do!*
"Copy this habit"
Points at Walter White aka Heisenburg
The eye contact thing is kinda like with dogs. When I want to assert dominance with my dogs I always look at them right in the eyes, the always submit btw.
I think kid named finger is more fearless than him
People often mistake weakness for compassion of others.
