1:42 got the map open in FA2. Can confirm it's nothing special. A nice straight-forward mission... Well, except for the periodic "Airstrikes" every... 250 seconds on easy @15FPS, so 125s. Additionally, every 100s on hard, or 200s on medium another team starts flying 2:51 I don't know if you noticed, but sometimes the Harriers crash "for no reason". The reason is the same for why Harriers and Black Eagles crash when they check for free Docks and there aren't any available: INI tag/flag AirportBound=yes. They're scripted to attack Reactors, Refineries, Barracks then move back outside the map. But sometimes the move order from the script is given too late, and the AircraftType checks for a free Dock; whereupon it'll crash and burn. If WW had created Harrier clones for this map, just written AirportBound=no for that clone and made those clones spawn to harass players, they would've fixed it without anyone ever noticing (even when players went and captured the ACHQ to build their own Harriers). WW already did the cloning thing in YRAll01, YRSov01 and YR Sov03. Note on the Harassment triggers: it's scripted to disable the Harrier spawn triggers as soon as BadGuy1 House gets its ACHQ and starts building its own Harriers. 8:25 lol Map mods: -Destroyer's 155mm has Range=10. -standard resource-worth-doubling and harvester-capacity-halving.
@Laura Allard my take is that based on the pretty generous par times, WW probably thought that players would take their sweet time and savor each and every mission (because not everyone is a RTS veteran with a firm grasp of macro management, especially back in the early 2000s). Some players love to turtle up a bit and build a really overwhelming force (I'm pretty much that kind of player, no matter the RTS). The par times and the ore capacity/multiplier facilitate those, while helping players who prefer to blast through the content.
@Laura Allard It might also be to give the player twice the resources while occupying half the space. On a map this size doubling the ore value makes sense since you save half the space occupied on map compared to regular value ore. Halving the miners capacity goes well with this since getting a full sized return on high value ore would just give you too many credits and make the mission easy (not that its actually hard lol)
So if I understand it right, if for whatever reason you have an AFC of your own during the initial Harrier attacks on this mission, the AI Harriers would land on *your* AFC? That would be some next level thievery LOL
Fun fact: I don't know this is intentional by Westwood or not. But those Destroyers footage at the beginning are from a joint Japanese-American navy drill in 1984. Which apparently got very close to Vladivostok (where you are defending) to the point that the Soviet send their Pacific fleet to respond.

@@michaelandreipalon359 you're right, but for me this one is even weirder.
