Ох, посмотрел и опять захотелось в Латвию! Уже наверное раз 40 был и опять хочу. Латвия для меня единственная страна куда хочется возвращаться. А рижский городской транспорт как и всегда на высшем уровне.

great video in riga i notice in some areas of the city the trolleybus can still operate without overhead lines .that is something new i learned today
It's true modern trolleybuses can have alternative drive, our skodas 24tr and 27tr have diesel generators, while our H2 solaris trollino 18.75 have both a h2 generator and a battery. Though most cities prefer to have rechargeable battery with around 10 km range off wire

Hi, Gintaras, how would you describe maintenance level of those machines? Chisinau recently purchased these used Solaris articulated trolleybuses from riga, but they haven't arrived yet. There are heated debates on moldovan forums if they are all badly corroded and our mayor bought trash bins on wheels.

@Ugis0807 E Some trolleybusses in Riga have diesel generators, for example: 9:21
@Ugis0807 E sadly, Riga have trolleybuses only with diesel generators, and ten trolleybuses with H2 generators
@Ugis0807 E 4th, 9th, 27th and other route's trolleybuses supposed to use diwsel generators. Example: part of Ziepniekkalns, whole Jugla, where runs 4th trolleybus

Nothing new! We had great trolleybuses in British cities 1930 - 1960. However they were not with hydrogen as these are.
