Great video man, it's a little different seeing you farming with green. I love the family history and your connection to the 6210, good stuff. I hope the seed takes well and you have an abundant hay crop in 2024

That’s where your hand rests
Placed hand on fender while driving.Do you live close to New Tazewell?
Hands grabbing it many times over can take the paint off!
Armrest/ enter/exit grab points. My Kubota is same way and I’m the only person to use it
Sitting on the fender🤷♀️
Where place your hand when exiting tractor
Why planting KY 31? There has to be better forage fescues than KY31. Enjoy your channel.
While farming in the 1980’s, we use to roundup fescue pasture and reseed with forage fescue with some clover.
It’s KY31 orchard grass mix. Fescue produces real heavy for our area for first cutting. It’s just a hardy grass. After first cutting I try to embrace a mix of it as well as native grasses. It does good for my operation but may not for anyone else.
In the 80’s, ky31 had an endopyte that caused cattle not to perform well during summer months. You’d see cattle standing in ponds to cool their feet. Stockpiling fescue for winter grazing is a very good practice.
Kentucky 31 is not endophyte free fescue. and is not recommended for hay or livestock grazing. it is actually toxic to livestock. I was surprised to see you planting it for hay
That’s why I wanted to add in orchard grass with the mix. We also have an abundance of native grasses that come in during the summer months. Our animals just aren’t eating/grazing straight fescue.
I’ve read about the fescue endophytes, but can’t find anything negative about fescue being mixed with other grasses. Uncles and neighbors cattle has always done really well having fescue/orchard hay during the winter.
