The extreme distaste for mullets is hilarious 😂 I used to hate them too. I’m in Canada, so I’ve always associated them with hockey players and country singers. Until BTS. Now, somehow, they’re the epitome of hotness 😳😭
They are the epitome of hotness..... Because they sing about the journey of a soul not about how my fat bottomed girl buys me pot and that is what a good life about. .......... What's worse is that foreigners really think that is what drives Americans. We are considered extremest. But everyone in America is an immigrant living on stolen land. ( Nobodies fault, we were lied to) Still.... We have more tolerance of different cultures than any country. But the media tells a different story.
BTS needs a blue diamond award. An award for album sales only It is a rare award. And I am glad that it was mentioned to buy an album for someone who can't buy one. On Reverse you can shop USA store or Global (USA shipping is 100% cheaper ) BUT..... cassettes are what sales the MOST in Global store .Poor or 3rd world countries ( remember they have won awards in over 115 countries before even stepping foot in U.S.) don't use CD's much. Or they would buy the album because it comes with concept photos. So I would gladly buy another album for that army. There should also be an army site for people that cannot afford an album and they will help you.
Let's manifest a shift in music industry. Imagine in 2025 BTS announces a comeback and in the same move they promote it with big event: launching a new streaming service on Weverse. With all artists on Weverse and all artists from agencies Hybe already has and is activly buying. Sounds fun? I really really hope they are workig on it. This is a sh%t MJ was going to do with all his portfolio of music. So. Let's just 🕣🕣🕣
I really hope so, I've been hoping for a Weverse streaming/viewing platform ever since I learned about YT's delete-antics and Spot's tendency to 'filter'.
@@eileencritchley4630 That's a very valid concern. I found them through YT myself, so I don't downplay how important it is to have a presence here, no matter all the frustrations. And there's a real possibility that a HYBE-hosted platform wouldn't be considered 'legitimate enough', or 'objective enough' to have its views and streams added to the Industry's counts. 🙄 What I'm thinking is, a Weverse-platform could act as a control of sorts. We see so many folks wondering why views are low and streams are filtered, and it would be so reassuring to ARMY- and such a massive rebuke to the US music industry!- if we could point to Weverse numbers as a kind of fact-check. "Yeah, we only have 13m views on that video, but over on Weverse we have 38m unique views and 94m repeat views. We-view runs on the same delayed-view schedule as YT does, one view every 12 minutes. So don't worry, ARMY is out in force, it's just YT being an @ss again."
Bryan was defending us because the media and music industry were already conflating the two things. Which i agree, is dumb as hell. And the fact that we're the ones declared the "manipulation". Its just mental. He said at least our manipulation is from love of music.
I think you misunderstood what he was implying. He’s saying buying a song with your hard earned money is more dignified than record labels paying radio stations thousands to get them to play artists. This one writer from Forbes (only him, not the others Forbe writers) is one of the more fair ones when it comes to chart reporting on BTS, and it’s his subtle way of responding to the media/industry who were trying to convey that fans mass buying music is inorganic (like it’s not a weight in popularity for the chart, so radio is supposedly organic) and he’s saying payola is less dignified (code for inorganic and not how song popularity is measured) without saying the word payola lol.
Speaking of media and Billboard (part of the eco-system), when I saw the numbers for Billboard 200 in which Agust D’S D-Day album debuted at #2, most of the numbers were high (sales, TEA track equivalent albums, etc). But the Morgan Wallen guy who got #1 were lower, but the one aspect that was higher was SEA (streaming equivalent albums). “Oh, dang, interesting, I’ve never heard of him.” Then…when Billboard post a video reporting about the charts, the lady said congrats to Suga for making it to #2 all due to streaming. Huh? What is she talking ab out? The Morgan guy got #1 mostly because streaming. I thought that was weird, but remember, Spotify seem to conveniently mess with BTS streaming numbers due to filtering, track info that separate remixes or english versions, leaking songs before tracking starts, playlisting, etc. at different times in the past. Why is Billboard video saying he got that high due to streaming? It’s like they are all in cahoots or something to prevent a BTS member from doing better. Trying to make you or the public believe that only streaming is the way to get to the top of Billboard 200 and not buying the album lol
You forgot to say, "I am vexed!" 😂 I didn't know the origins of BB so thank you! When I first became a fan of BTS, it was a great gift but getting to know BTSxARMY was a great surprise gift too. BTSxARMY gang forever. ApoBangpo
I was like Billboard isn't that an Americanism for those huge advertising boards that the USA use along side their roads. I thought that years ago why are their calling their charts Billboards? And now we know it's simply is a Billboard for advertising which is paid for by USA radio's pay for play scam.
When bts is done with something or someone they show that in a rather subtle way. Like them using and selling out the same arena the Scammies used as their EXTRA army live viewing venue while they had 4 sold out concerts in Las Vegas during that time and the entire city turned to Borahaegas (it was insane) Or when bts said they were too busy to perform at the winter Olympics because of their schedule and then jin posted a video of him chilling at a chicken farm😂 Most of the time they don't attend in person anymore, doesn't matter if it's an award show or any other show and that's also one of the reasons why they started creating their own variety show (Run BTS). If they're done with someone they just do it themselves but better and leave them behind. But it also seems like bts does that currently with the Scammies, they said last year that they're in Las Vegas for their concert and not the Scammies and Yoongi (the one who always said his wish was to win a Grammy when being asked) questioned if it wasn't just a "local thing" recently.
26:36 Got to be honest. What you said is often how I feel about idols from the Big 3 whenever their fans want to escuse and infantalize their faves. Idols chose those big trash companies because of the perks, etc. They knew how they'd be treated, they knew they'd have a lack of freedom/creative control, and at this point, they have to know how xenophobic these companies are. These Idols are complicit.

Something to remember about the bus columbia put for dinamite is that the Ceo of Columbia records has credits on that song!, that was the only song that received promotion by that label on the entire period of the contract. Also at the time the song was released, columbia only had a few more months of contract for their distribution, and they knew that contract wasn't going to renovate because by that time hybe was buying Ithaca holdings (scouter brown) and a association with universal was rumored, so yeah that was columbia move to capitalize as much as they can before they lost them
My grandma's time. One would buy Buddy Holly albums. And they would go to someone's housese and listen to it over and over again until The record actually breaks. That is where the term breaking a record comes from. 😂And Grandma before that would listen to "ol Blue eyes" . And Frank's followers were called the Bobbie socks...... They said the same thing and about Elvis and Beatles........But they all liked Michael Jackson 😮
9:30 So about the part when Celeste was talking about payola/radio vs buying/streaming and organic popularity on Billboard. It wasnt really about her conflating them. It was her addressing the people who do conflate them. It is the basis for one of the biggest critiques against BTS in the kpop community (and some of the western music community). It was her pushing back against the stupid idea that using payola for radioplay (and Billboard success) is a more valid/organic metric for popularity than earning enough fandom support that real fans make the decision to spend their time and money to support artists. They think radio play is worth more than fans buying and streaming in large numbers. I think it's much needed pushback because of how much hate BTS and ARMY get for this. We're buying albums consistently and in large numbers. Especially since BTS doesn't get airplay as often as is needed to be on Billboard yet they are able to top it and break records they set. I have no other artist's albums but I own every album that has been released since I first discovered BTS. Now I need to go back and get the ones from before (even though it wont affect any charts, it's stil something I want and its my way of supporting). I'm not a rarity in the fandom for wanting their music physically and it pisses people off that BTS has that sort of fandom buy in. General public get turned into ARMY at a much higher rate while most other acts get some GP attention then folks move on from whatever track paid their way into the charts. People think that if the group has a low score for radio spins, it must be cheating to get to the top. They dont realize what fans have to do when trying to play fair in a dirty playing field. The kpop community accuses BTS of "not being organically popular" because they top Billboard for days/weeks at a time with only fandom and general public support. That is nearly impossible without playing the radio game (which is seen as the right way in the community). BTS gets clowned for being fake popular because people think that them not being on the radio means that no one wants to play them on radio. It's a very crabs in a barrel mentality in the community. In their minds, no group should get to number 1 without radio play, otherwise they cheated. Fans should only need to buy 1 album and buy a song once, otherwise its cheating apparently. Their idea of cheating is fans streaming songs multiple times a day and buying as many albums and songs as possible. They value Billboard but they think the only organic way to get to the top is to rely mostly on radio. They dont realize that when an artist says "fuck payola and radio", the only other way to compete is fandom support going full force. Ironically, many other people also accuse BTS of engaging in payola because they get to the top so often. Those fans refuse to acknowledge that if they as a fandom were more strategic, organised, effective, and on code, they could get similar results. Like how tf can someone be engaging in payola with so little radio play? It's like arguing with kids.
Celeste lives in Vegas although I don't know where she was raised or background, but I give my BFF a hard time because even though born and raised in California she pronounces a lot of words like she's Canadian 😂
Oh they have at award shows as they've given out their acceptance speeches. They refuse to go smouch and grease hands they'd rather go online and talk to ARMY. The did go to one lunch event and heard all the nastie comments etc and after that they refused to do any other 'Event'. they quickly catch on to whats going on and decide who their real friends are and who to avoid.
I love xceleste. The first time I have seen her face on a docu. But she always gets a good seat at the shows I feel like I was part of the audience.... Agustd/Suga was poetry put to hip-hop and more. So much emotion I loved her PTD fancam ( she lives in Las Vegas)😢
Pls remember many of us thought that winning those american awards would significantly help to get for the members military service exemptions bc i Korea other ppl were getting those exemptions based on international competitions like Olympics or World Cup or famous piano competitions etc.
Koreans fans are all about the stats. I put them head to head with super sports fans that can spout off all the records and stats of their faves. Korean fans count every tiny achievement and stat and proudly proclaim the achievements so I think it would be hard for an artist to just say screw Grammy or screw billboard bc the fans couldn’t stand it
They are making money off the artist's work which is not their work. Yes my money I'll spend it legally as I see fit. If I want 2 copies of something because I'm prone to breaking things just like Namjoon I'll buy 2 copies if I have the money. If I want to buy another copy for my bestie for their birthday I'll do that. However I do have this question how do they know if a consumer has bought more than one copy of something are they doing it illegally via accessing their Debit/credit card details?
As I understand it, if the purchase is made online they take note of the shipping address. And yeah, that's illegal but who's gonna sue them? If you buy it in store they'll still track the billing address of whatever card is swiped. Some ARMY have suggested using cash and/or gift cards for in-store and online.

They can drag people if they want to... it would be fun to see... but I feel like the internet folk would be on their ass for that. It would invite a lot of unnecessary hate. BTS are actually on their fuck the grammys era. Recently in an interview suga got asked about the grmammys and he said "isn't that a local thing?" 😂😭 BTS do have that idgaf vibe. They keep silent most of the time but they guve these statements from time to time that show their attitude. 56:00 "gang shit!" I fucking lost it... 😭😭😭😭 You are hilarious. 1:06:00 😭😂😂😂
The way we joked about the bts book currently😂 "will I be recored as a bot on the new yorktimes bestseller list when I buy more that one book?" "Do I have to switch every couple of chapeter to a new one to not be filtered as a low qualitiy stream"
The 'Bot' issue is just an excuse they use to try to put down something they don't want to play. It's the lets use the lastest 'Buzz word' (in vogue word of the time) to put someone down. To try to demonise an artist or group fan base the real popularity of a group or Artist. It's a gaslighting.
But them speaking out about the industry they are in does alert the GP what's goes on so I'm more than happy for those artists sign up to these agencies to come out and say what's going on and how it effects them. As most of the GP have no idea what's going on.
If the sales and streams and radio requests are just bots, explain the physical beings that attend sold out concerts (on stage and live play) across North America, Asia, South America and Europe. Even Saudi Arabia. Xenophobia at its worst. This is why I don't listen to the radio or satellite. It's been over a decade.
Something that bothers me is that they really young army are always trying to get awards that the boys have won number of times. And I know that the boys love and appreciate the awards ( armies love) but these sites let's you vote up to 10 times a day and you have to agreed to them having full access to your phone and your address book. They take advantage of army anyway they can. And just being from a different country can be just as disabling as being too young to understand.
I think we will see more loud and “not giving two flying fu*ks” BTS more than ever once they comeback as 7 again. You can already see the shift in their attitude now that they are doing solo work and denouncing the practices of the kpop and music industry publicly as a whole and not just in music. They have moved past it and the unbothered energy is making everyone else concerned and mad because an unbothered BTS is more scary in my opinion than a mad BTS. Also Ive seen you constantly getting up in arms about how much humility BTS have, that’s another part of being army you just have to accept 😂
28:37-ish> my personal observation is that the people who complain did Not read the contract before signing. Thankfully, BTS was explicitly given a large amount of creative freedom & the option to do solo albums to go even further creatively. That’s why you should always read an entire contract before you sign. And if anyone is pressuring you to sign quickly without giving ample time to read, don’t sign! It’s a tactic used in dishonest sales, & can be illegal. If you don’t understand what’s written, and they don’t explain, say you’re sorry and you can’t sign until you’ve had someone, like an attorney, explain the whole contract.
I think its just you that says boo-ey or maybe its a regional thing 💀 grew up in america and i have never heard that in my life. Always pronounced it boyd. Like buoyancy... boyancy?
Don't know why it made me laugh so much when you called ARMY rich gang members (in an endearing way). I was like "Yeah he's right there are some rich ARMYs out there. They're so lucky to get tickets for concerts for all those days." But then I realized that I'm not rich, but I've just been saving and waiting for the right time to get stuff and support (I'm waiting on 5 different albums to get shipped to me; 4 for me, 1 as a gift for a fellow ARMY). So some of us might seem rich but we be balling on a budget sometimes. If we wait long enough, we can eventually show our support with sales. Granted some of the albums are super old ones and won't matter much for charts but I just wanted them. The Bangtan Budget is a serious thing. I remember seeing so many budgeting plans online to save enough in time for the eventual post-enlistment concert.
I just thought of the very good example why they will probably not speak out like this: tae got Back to Korea and at the airport he made headlines for two weeks for "Bad Attitude" simply because he just got into the car after a more than 10 hours flight and didn't great the Reporters, play along with them or waved
I feel that but if I can be waved that simply then these folks who say they are my fans will not run away from me. So no matter media perception I still will keep those who are loyal and I just will be fine with that.
I don't believe for a second that it's that simple to turn down a major label deal. If it were, we would have at least dozens of big names of independent artists going head-to-head with top artists on radio and Billboard
@@Jurnalist_ My idea is what if we are talking about changes that the artist didn't necessarily sign up for. Like tiktok now being so big. Depending on when someone signed a contract, that may not have been a viable thing. A label might be trying to add it in under something they have always controlled like promotion or something. Now an artist has to really think: do they take a chance on suing saying tiktok wasn't a thing so I didn't sign up for that, bite the bullet and do the tiktok or not do an album and wait out their contract?
That interview where the person had the audacity to ask Namjoon to his face about chart manipulation still makes me mad. I’m an army who has never bought a BTS album or merch or a concert ticket since they haven’t toured near me in a long time (I did pay for a few online concert stream tickets though), and that still makes me so angry on behalf of the fans who do pay. Who are you to tell someone else how to spend their money? It feels so backward to me, how is paying for an album somehow worse than casually listening to an autoplay spotify song in the background? I will never get it. BBcorrupt was trending nr 1 in two different ways. it was so much that BB demanded twitter to remove "Billboard" as a word to be trended. so even if fans wrote about it it would not trend. and the trend disappeared so quick, like twitter pressed a off bottom. so army´s started to figure it out and started trending a word similar and it started trending again. as long at people could se something was going on with billboard we where happy. all BB and the media associated with them wrote about him dropping hard on the chart the second week. they made that clear to us who was the boss. 😡
"Then who then n*gga?!" 🤣🤣 I'm so sorry but listening to you lose it during this vid warmed my heart! "I ain't even been on the team that long but fuck this!!" I can't!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rosan (xCeleste) is originally from Alaska.
"Gang members" always makes me laugh. Truth 😘💜🫰🏻
And I love it when you rant.
I love how humble our guys are but when it comes to these issues especially in America…I hope they will start speaking their minds more as they go on. I feel your frustration and sometimes want them to just put people in their place.
You said we pay like $250 for BTS tickets…😂 I wish I am sure there are some lucky army that have paid that but my PTD tickets were $700 a piece. I wanted tickets for Suga/AgustD Concert and those were tickets were just as expensive. I couldn’t go because of work anyway.
1:05:00 Personally I think the mullet era is because soon, they will have to shave their heads and now, without group scedueles, they have the freedom to just do whatever with their hair. :D
Totally agree.
I love when Jurnlist looses his sh*t…
And yes, we are gang members💜
The extreme distaste for mullets is hilarious 😂 I used to hate them too. I’m in Canada, so I’ve always associated them with hockey players and country singers. Until BTS. Now, somehow, they’re the epitome of hotness 😳😭
That country singer would be Billy Ray Cyrus....😅
They are the epitome of hotness..... Because they sing about the journey of a soul not about how my fat bottomed girl buys me pot and that is what a good life about.
.......... What's worse is that foreigners really think that is what drives Americans. We are considered extremest. But everyone in America is an immigrant living on stolen land. ( Nobodies fault, we were lied to) Still.... We have more tolerance of different cultures than any country. But the media tells a different story.
@@wendybaker7999 Yeah, that’s exactly who I had in mind 😂
BTS needs a blue diamond award.
An award for album sales only
It is a rare award.
56:15 low income gang membere here, but my loyalty is well expensive 🤟💜 *ka-ching *
we know who exactly can't sell out hihihihi

@@ystrw I'm concerned that will only hide BTS and other HBYE artists from the world who don't yet know them. It's a big issue with pro's and con's.
What I'm thinking is, a Weverse-platform could act as a control of sorts.
"Kabal of f$ckry" now stuck in my head. Needs to be the hook of a song.
Also, I'm Canadian, i pronounce buoy as "boo-ee'

Bryan was defending us because the media and music industry were already conflating the two things. Which i agree, is dumb as hell. And the fact that we're the ones declared the "manipulation". Its just mental. He said at least our manipulation is from love of music.
About the billboard formula I think it's sales divided by 5 (not sales 5 points) the way the the tweet was presented could be easily confusing
You forgot to say, "I am vexed!" 😂
I didn't know the origins of BB so thank you!
35:04 my blood pressure just went slightly up ahahaha. tf.
When bts is done with something or someone they show that in a rather subtle way.
Like them using and selling out the same arena the Scammies used as their EXTRA army live viewing venue while they had 4 sold out concerts in Las Vegas during that time and the entire city turned to Borahaegas (it was insane)
Or when bts said they were too busy to perform at the winter Olympics because of their schedule and then jin posted a video of him chilling at a chicken farm😂
Most of the time they don't attend in person anymore, doesn't matter if it's an award show or any other show and that's also one of the reasons why they started creating their own variety show (Run BTS).
Hey #Jurnalist
as a NZer/Kiwi I'm with XCELESTE .... it is definitely "buoyed-BOuYed" here lol 😂
I love Rosan aka xCeleste ❤
only jealous people don't want to see BTS still successful🤟💜
I'm afraid that a western artist flipping the industry will be taken way differently compared to outsider artist flipping the industry. boys inattentionally took the role of representing the whole South korea in wester music scene. if they openly act out... damn the shit will hit the fan
I hate the term western music industry it's the American music industry.
“Why don’t bts turn into table-flipping Jesus” I’m wheezing 43:46
Something to remember about the bus columbia put for dinamite is that the Ceo of Columbia records has credits on that song!, that was the only song that received promotion by that label on the entire period of the contract. Also at the time the song was released, columbia only had a few more months of contract for their distribution, and they knew that contract wasn't going to renovate because by that time hybe was buying Ithaca holdings (scouter brown) and a association with universal was rumored, so yeah that was columbia move to capitalize as much as they can before they lost them
I love how real you are fr
My grandma's time. One would buy Buddy Holly albums. And they would go to someone's housese and listen to it over and over again until The record actually breaks. That is where the term breaking a record comes from.
😂And Grandma before that would listen to "ol Blue eyes" . And Frank's followers were called the Bobbie socks...... They said the same thing and about Elvis and Beatles........But they all liked Michael Jackson 😮
I did not know that. Wow
But she always gets a good seat at the shows
I feel like I was part of the audience....
22:46 this is the 3rd video recommended to you. Chronically its before the other two. Its your decision if you want to watch it, after this one just upset you. And the main points were covered by bora and celeste
Streaming is not profitable, spotify has never been profitable as a company. It's all about profit diversion from artists. Artists have to pay to labels to get good streaming visibility
You cannot be profitable if you are giving million dollar bonuses. They are not profitable for a reason not because they don’t generate revenue.
The way you said Buoyed is incorrect in English, Your friend is correct. it's has a 'french' origin btw, that's the confusion. It's an extremely old word used as far back as the 13th century.
RM literally said in an interview that they(bts)where like alien to the US music industry
I so agree about the fact that if you signed up for a job..... Do that job!!!!
Don't blame the customers who want the hamburger.
It is a big problem here and they are even getting paid double of the minimum wage. According to the sign that's up that says they're hiring

Honestly I do imagine bts saying all that on the inside. I bet they do think like that. They can drag people if they want to... it would be fun to see... but I feel like the internet folk would be on their ass for that. It would invite a lot of unnecessary hate.
BTS are actually on their fuck the grammys era. Recently in an interview suga got asked about the grmammys and he said "isn't that a local thing?" 😂😭
BTS do have that idgaf vibe. They keep silent most of the time but they guve these statements from time to time that show their attitude.
56:00 "gang shit!"

You are hilarious.
1:06:00
😭😂😂😂
Thanks for your input to this and i hope someday it will turn the tide as we hope for real good music to be heard of everyone. Keep up the good work.

I have a very boring family get together tomorrow so I know when I will be watching this video bc I cant right now
I think we will see more loud and “not giving two flying fu*ks” BTS more than ever once they comeback as 7 again.

It actually is. Most don’t take advantage of their leverage. If they are willing to pay a mill what are they making.
Yes because the US music industry do the same thing to American independent arts as they do to BTS.
@@ebony7177 Yes yes yes.
By the way, your bot comment touches on something called techno-orientalism, on which topic I highly recommend a video from elliot sang (possibly his bby gang mag channel?) - you saw one of his video essays back in the early days, he’s great.
