In this video titled EU4 Releasables - BULGARIA Is MORE OP Than OTTOMANS in 1.35 I do a playthrough as Bulgaria after releasing it from The Ottomans and I try to become a great power in Europa Universalis 4 1.35 Domination. This is the series titled Releasables where I attempt to play every releasable nation in EU4 or Europa Universalis 4. In this video I play as the nation of Bulgaria in EU4. So let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. If you enjoyed this video consider leaving a like and subscribing for more content in the future.

Haha you divide Ottomans in the very beginning of the game and drag Venice, Hungary and Mamluks into the war at your side. Then you say Bulgaria is OP 😇 Sure, why not? Ragusa is OP too, in this perspective.😊
You run away better than any other EU4 content creator.
@@canerc6668 He is a noob.
NEXT RELEASABLE ACHEA
To take the "Make Constantinople the capital" decision the Ottomans need to own Burgas. Releasing Bulgaria prevented them from enacting it.
To add, releasing Bulgaria also takes away a lot of dev and Janissaries limit from Ottomans, which weakens their economy and military right off the bat.
Yeah, I started Eu4 and played as the Ottomans to check and you are correct :)
I remembered the same thing the moment he was curious about it... the old way how florry showed the ccr stacking it was an issue for me when i tried it myself because of release bulgaria had a weird alliance chain^^
I like Bulgaria (I'm from Bulgaria)
Least based balkan man
(No offense btw, just the meme)
I also like Bulgaria (I'm also from Bulgaria)
Bulgarians are assimilated Turks lmao do some research
I like Bulgaria (I'm not from Bulgaria)
@@urmum2083 romania is also balkan, but not as based as Bulgaria tho
Make constantinople decision is still there but it has requirements that {Owns Edirne (149), Kocaeli (316), Hüdavendigar (317) and Burgas / Kirkkilise (1764)} so when you release bulgaria they couldn't done that and i think paradox forced ai to not to core constantinople to not waste any admin so it got stuck in there
Did they forced them not to take any techs either?
@@Stephen64138 They went bankrupt probally, when you look at their prestige and how many nations they fought. They also needed many admin points for stabbing up if they had some disasters.
I've been recently watching in my free time all the A-Z and releasables and it's a pleasure, by far the funniest series in eu4
Enjoy!
I challenge you as Tlemcen conquers Portugal and its historic colonies (as they change colors in this patch)
Prolly in a few months when season T comes around in A-Z
bonus points if he makes portugal exist only in tlemcen starting provinces
@@kumakohai7499 I don't think Tlemcen even has a unique NI
@@ThuHoanTran-ffsthisismyname it doesnt sadly, has berber ideas
You can see the Janisarries and Pasha button as everybody at the moment, its definitely a bug. It threw me off when I could see it playing as a Japanese Daimyo last night
Ah the famous Janissary Samurais
@@firmanimad we all know the Japanese daimyos raided the Balkans in 1444 to take orthodox slaves and then bred them in farms back in Japan
Genoa actually had an emporium/colony near Kastamonu. It was called Amastris(Amasra in Turkish). So it makes sense for them to take Kastamonu haha
I think Paradox knows this and that's why Genoa AI took it.
As a Bulgarian I was wondering when Bulgaria would be chosen by the wheel, glad you see you chose it yourself
It's been a long, long work week, but I can now drop countless hours staring at a map slowly change colour.
Is it just me or are the missions too complicated for the AI? I keep seeing Ottomans struggle with the missions like this
I think so too!
The new mechanics are probably too much for the AI, I've seen MIng collapsing in the 1460s because they couldn't deal with the constant rebel bomb, otto never expanding far into the balkan and didn't touch the Mamluk, ...
Yeah I though with the new dlc ottomans would be unstoppable but they didn’t change much at least in the early game.
I think it will get better over time. One of the good things about games with active development cycles like EU4 is that the devs can continue to work on the AI over time. The AI have gotten much more competent with things like crown land, being more aggressive about declaring on the player, and managing AE
You're definitely not wrong, but they did make it easier for the AI in some parts. For instance, the first Muscovy mission that gives you all the claims requires you to make 10 adm a month, but if the nation is AI, it doesn't need to. Still, AI seems to be playing very weird this patch.
Fairly certain Ottomans were unable to tech up due to decadence since they were basically stomped the entire game, causing upwards of +100% tech and idea cost
3:14 It indeed is, Bulgaria was historically a tsardom when the ottomans conquered them
7:30
You own one of the provinces bordering Constantinople, so the decision doesn't work for them
I'm actually really glad that the Ottomans aren't always the scary great power anymore. Only played a few games so far but seen them get trounced twice already. Really nice departure from seeing them be the strongest power in literally every game and being a military hegemon by like 1650 sometimes
enjoy seeing him suffering and in pain but this time it went smoothly happy for you
by the way love your content
I was fighting muscovy as novgorod and can confirm they destroyed their fort outside of moskva in the second war.
Plutocratic ideas seem to be made for novgorods starting scenario. Infratructure seems good.
Would love to see a Swiss merc only playthrough it gets absolutely insane if you also go for infrastructure and dev up you can put forts in every province with insane merc manpower so you become invincible to invasion
Can we have a Korea guide for 1.35? I feel like they’re one of the strongest starts in the game now
I've watched more of your 1.35 videos than I've had the urge to play myself now.
Dammit. Now I need to start my sixth bulgaria playthrough. What is weird is that because of the janissaries button you seem to be unable to consecrate metropolitan.
Need more Bulgaria on thechannel
I know this is not related to this video, but I wanted to thank you on your Karaman guide released some time ago, it works still even in Domination and It helped me after some retrying with my own methods which did not work. Keep up with those guides they are very helpful (I try to do the form Rum achievment)
25:24 555 dev, number one great power, chef's kiss
Good work, mister! Nice to see the all-powerful Ottos take the L. Let me suggest that as Tripoli you do something a little unusual: instead of spreading across North Africa, why don't you push south into the Sahel and get a coastline on the Ivory Coast?
FINALLY. FINALLY ❤️❤️ as Bulgaria I was waiting. Love from Bulgaria ❤️
1:25 i know you say ladies and Gentleman, but i only can hear Ladys and german 😂😂
A good strategy that I've tried is nation ruining the ottomans releasing Bulgaria conquering the Balkans and forming Byzantium it's a pretty good strategy if you are bored of the standard Byzantium Gameplay
Can't wait for the inevitable 1.35 England guide
Bro Guides For 1.35?
I have one for next week!
4:56 Hahahaha - literal bruh moment right here
I'm playing my first 1.35 game as Karaman->Rum, and the AI definitely deletes forts when they are weak. I also noticed after I beat the Ottomans in the first war they deleted many of their forts to save money.
Great Video man.
Yea Man :D
I am waiting for this video for so long thanks for making it.
Is the guy in the thumbnail Red Hawk's dad? There's a resemblance.
It was a fun video.
It's fun to play independent after playing a dependent country.
If you like to play with vassals and PUs Influence + Admin will be a nobrainer in this patch.
In the past Admin was a bit meh cause of the merc stuff nobody needs mid to late game. But now its S Tier imo.
I look forward to watch you playing as a Ottoman in 1.35
Big alive burgundy? Hell yeah
Slacke now works over time, it's not a lump-sum like it used to be. If you're going to slacken you just turn it on and leave it on until you run out of professionalism.
Mercenaries ideas are very strong in combination with elite mercenaries government reform. Mercenaries are cheaper then regulars, have really good generals and tons of manpower. You can eveb train them and not losing professionalism when hiring.
Man, who would have thought that maybe releasing half the balkans, locking them out of their mission tree and hitting them hard in the early game would make the Ottomans seem weak??? I'd hardly call that indicative of their strength, this has always been the window in which you can beat the ottomans (even as byz- aka without lightly nation ruining by releasing bulgaria)
i think merc ideas would be best with someone like malacca where you have lots of jungle attrition and ferrying troops around but still lots of cash
Can I offer a side mission for Tripoli?
Conquer other cities named Tripoli. There's one in the middle of Morea and the other one is in Lebanon. This means you have to fight Ottomans and Mamlukes so I understand if you don't want to do it.
The AI formed Japan before 1500 that's pretty good going
I believe the issue with the ottomans this time around is that they entered into early disaster that they have that increases their All Power points cost by 50% I believe and it's extremely hard to get out of it.
In my last game Castille deleted their forts too.
The Pasha and Janissary buttons are bugged due to an UI mod. They're not there in unmodded games.
Does anyone know how to fix the HRE bug of not getting the "Expand Empire" casus belli from the third reform? They broke it again.
Heres a fun fact for you because I have no life. You ended 84 sentences in this 27 min video with the word "man." "why not go with mercenary, man. let's hire these mercs, man. free company pretty cheap, man."
Ottos in my most recent game lost to bosnia, Bohimia and venice twice. They are not always the big scary anymore The mamlukes are kinda going nuts instead.
new ottoman mechanic really screw's them if they lose a war or something. That's why they were very behind on techs
I guess because Byzantines still existed, Ottomans didn't get the Constantinople events or missions or whatever? I don't know.
It looks like the Ottomans might have had their decadence disaster early, which makes it basically impossible to take tech.
is weaker before 1500 but stronger after 1550
the mission was probably the treasury one, and it probably went away because you paid over a thousand ducats to embrace colonialism so your treasury got not that big anymore
I played Bulgaria few months ago and I have to say, that it's easiest way to start if someone wants to play as Byzantium.
Is here the new Hotfix in?
Cause Navy battles has some problems.
Nice
Impressive
Did they make the far right piece of Trebazon longer than before or have I not playing ij that region for a good while?
On the revamped ai nations not able to handle their mission trees, my question would seem trivial but;
Did Paradox ran any test whatsoever? Do they test their games at all before releasing?
Yes finally!
dude as a Bulgarian i gotta say i ma rather disappointed with the ruller you chose to put on the tumb nail... rest of the video is good as usual, keep them coming.
What's the dude's name? Sorry I know nothing about Bulgarian history
@@connormcgee4711 Ferdinand of house saxe-coburg-gotha. He wasn't a very good politician and got us in two "national catastrophes". His son was cool, but old Ferdo not so much...
@@aleksandertanchev8148 I see! Thank you for the information
lol the new mechanics killed otto by mistake
Does the Nexus link take steam gift cards for payment or just normal credit?
Bulgaria has to be one of the largest releasables in 1444. 11 Provinces. Is there any other larger?
Chinese kingdoms and syria i think.
Nice vid bro but that title is 110% cap
Albania went kinda nuts there in the early game, huh?
do the mehmets ambition form the rome we wana see some ''pain''
Man, come on there is a new DLC with new missions for France, Ottos, Spain and UK. And you’re making Bulgaria video 🫠
as Tripoli try and take the three great cities of the mediterranian: Rome, Constantinople and Venice! you wanted to have an easy challenge, right?
In Domination, the revamped major powers sucks.
That would not surprise me from Paradox a single minute.
do a run with the knights!
Still waiting to see someone do a Holstein run. ;)
One word “eyalet”
To be fair, I would think that Bulgaria is easier than the other vassals from Ottos from the sheer fact that you are so much larger than most other vassals.
Ottomans can't make Constantinopole capital if someone has state province. So you prevented them from doing so.
How to you make your map look like this? Someone please tell me
HOLD ON why do you start with like 70% crownland????
So far the great powers most affected by Domination seem hard nerfed.
I could barely pull off a white peace against Oirat as Ming, my friend was playing the Ottomans and was struggling to keep up the pace he used to.
Our buddy trying out England had a rough time learning to play.
Just seems tough, I'm gonna try Korea, but I miss Ming already because new Ming is trash, Ottomans and Ming are both mega pushovers now.
England and Ottomans are quite easy to play but the Ottoman and Ming AI got completely turbo dumpstered
Lore of EU4 Releasables - BULGARIA Is MORE OP Than OTTOMANS in 1.35 momentum 100
Hi everyone, and welcome to todays video
When stream hawk?
Why's Portugal blue??? MY EYESSS
I am glad you didn't roll saruhan
Play as Ottomans next time
Where are the Espionage ideas ?
My guess is Hungary would have abandoned you regardless. It’s better you didn’t give them anything. They aren’t to be trusted….ever. In this game anyway.
u can form bulgaria tho
hi
Hello!
The dlc is bugged and unplayable like leviatan. Ottomans keep getting -1 stab bug events like in zlewick video and 100 decadence by losing a battle with the ruler
AI sucks, new mechanisms on players hands are op, in case of updated countries, EXEPT Ming. Ming is for professionals, for normies especially on mode harder than normal it to hard to play
Please do Armenian run
I'm gona ask Jack sparrow he gona give me cheaper domination.
too much baitclick :'( but nice video
I hate Portugal's new color
Regarding the option to make Constantinople the capital, it does still exist, and the Ottomans would have had several opportunities to take it. No idea why they didn't - the only thing I can think is that the decision is (for some reason) disabled for AI, otherwise it's likely just another bug that needs
blue prussia is based and blue portugal is cringe and you can't convince me otherwise
first!
