- A less known, very beautiful composition of Oothukadu Venkatakavi in the ragam Surutti. It features a change in gathi at the charanam, which is commonly seen in his compositions.
If you would like an mp3 of this track, please contact me directly.
As a guitarist myself (based in Trinidad WI), I can honestly say that your playing technique and style is very, very well developed. Your style is indeed something new and refreshing to hear in the guitar world. Please keep it up and I wish you all the best and future success with your music :-)
I actually dance this thillana (in Bharatanatyam style) and this sounds so lovely on electric guitar...lovely job!
The part I loved is where classic and western music meets at 4/4 tempo i.e. 1:59 really awesome
I am clearly bowled over your music.
SUPER NICE PLAY
I am very fond of this Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Keerthana in Hindustani. I liked your play of this Keerthana in guitar, heard several times. Keep rocking. Thank you.

Thoroughly enjoying each and every bit of nuances in it and especially the tempo raising up is so motivating to listen to. Myself and my husband are truly grateful to you and your music. Thank you for your kind words!
Fantabulous !
Surutti is my favourite ragam.
I haven't come across much fusion works in surutti.
I am wordless about this one.
The evolution of the mild background beats into fully bloomed level is just awesome.
Thanks for posting this piece.
Thanks a lot.
Thank you very much!

Mam please play the raghuvamsa sudha krithi Kadhanakuthahala raaga
Brilliant.. Are you using standard tuning in guitar?
Amazing playing! What do you use for the tone?
This tune is like srilalita sivajyoti❤️❤️❤️ I started learning guitar(western to understand scales etc) and goal is to play Carnatic, any tips from you are greatly appreciated. The teacher you got training from (I know you are probably capable of taking classes yourself) how long it takes , any prerequisites etc I can share my emailid if you are ready to discuss more or if you can make a video that will be amazing on this topic!!! Me n my daughter are continuously listening to your music. She wants Dhanasri thillana and listens min 5-10 times a day. Die hard fan of Carnatic guitar, Please help.
haripriya chintalapati thanks a lot. I will definitely post a tutorial video very soon, pls stay tuned. Msg me on Facebook and I can give you additional details
Excellent playing..it is very difficult to play classical on guitar..heartful wishes to artist..
But that is not surutti..that is Aarabhi..pl.note it.
It is surutti
Excellent ..... You deserve many more subscribers. By the way do you use Guitar standard tuning or classical SA PA SA PA SA SA

❤️❤️
This is amazing! :) Any chance I can get the mp3 version of this? Hoping to add it to my study playlist!
🎸
It was soulful and moved me out from my egocentric function. Shruti is a beautiful ragam.
But when the rhythm changed the final lines of strumming went harsh into punctuated notes.
Rerecord and maintain the same tonal quality even while you gear up to a higher pitch.
I might find my salvation.
I appreciate the comment. Unfortunately the tone difference cannot be helped as the higher notes are being played on thinner strings. The difference is further enunciated with the use of flat wound strings.

Thanks Sowmya . I understand what you are saying. Just a thought the only way to soften the tone is to drop the strummer and use the thumb when you play thinner strings. Sorry to get technical , it is just the love for the way you play and the beauty of the ragam.
❤️
excellent playing Sowmya. really inspiring :) what gauge strings do you play on ?
Thanks. First 3 are medium, last 3 are heavy.
is this in standard tuning or carnatic tuning? Sorry if you've already answered this I can't find anything about it!
carnatic
Hi Sowmya, can you do Mokahamu galada I think it would sound really beautiful!
Thanks for the suggestion. Lovely krithi
Really awesome .... Which software u r using for the background beats madam ?
Logic X
I Love You
Fantastic
