On the subject at the beginning about Lumineth being hard to please the fanbase. I'm definitely on the side that prefers to see a more fluff build than a top tier, 40 archer list. This list for example had a beautiful cavalry, and a great centerpiece model. as well as having some archers. So its just a nice variety, which is the spice of life.

Example: a full list of sentinels is abnoxiously good, and thus unfun for most people to play against. However, an army of mountainous cow giants with some Cavalry and a little bit of archers could be fun for everyone. It's just about finding the balance. Making a list that isn't optimised to hell.
Hey Steve, the reason the loreseeker was unique is because of the second half of the Lone agent rule, as of the current ghb he’s in a grey area where they presumably forgot to make him unique again. Also the Eclypsian staff is a ranged weapon not a melee. Run the lists you want to play, pretty much everything in the book except the stoneguard is good! One thing I see a lot of people forget, the Dawnrider unit leader has both a sword and the lance, so you would get 15 dice with the lances vs 1 wound models
So many times 5 wound vampires just get wiped off. Vampire lords really are not feeling any stronger than your standard rank and file hero in AOS. As a SBGL player, I really hoped to see them give Vampires 7 wounds and/or a 5+ ward. The 3+ save is ok, but with so many mortals floating around AOS anymore, 5 wounds just feels really paper thin.
Love to see Lumineth on the channel. Please don't listen to the crowd, just play the list you want to play. Also, use the Lord Regent to cast Greater Power of Hysh first, that opens your other units up for casting mystic shield, arcane bolt, etc..
Oh snap, this was a great video! Really fun to watch guys, soulblight are my favourite undead theme, love me some medieval looking skeletons and vampires. Wish we’d get more on the lore wight kings with full on kingdoms that can rival vampires in power. Love the idea not all are enthralled to a vampire, kinda like Krell. I think you should house rule to always allow forgotten rules to be played after the fact. As a viewer it’s a real feel bad to watch characters like Mannfred not use his command ability because Luka doesn’t remember to use it at the correct time. I fully understand how tough it is when you play so many games, factions and lists so I think in those circumstances it’s more than reasonable to go back if you forget something. I don’t mind seeing toned down lists but those lists should be played to their fullest potential or it becomes a poor viewing experience. Luka, please try and use the Zombies to attack, skeletons are the objective holders and tarpit. Zombies should be buffed and sent in to combat, your damage dealers pretty much bounced because you had poor rend, the Zombies MW output would have made a big difference.
Loreseekers are unique because in lore they are kinda outcasts from both teclian and tyronic nations and are more often out in the mortal realms doing solo missions. In game its cause it frees design up to have good artifacts and combat traits for vanari/scinari without it breaking on them
Really enjoyed this battle! I play both armies and I actually *do* think this was a fair battle. Very natural to forget a lot of rules. Especially with Lumineth there's so much to remember. One of the things I haven't seen anyone mention so far, Steve: remember that Wardens and Sentinels can only cast if they still have 5+ models. So your 3 model unit of Sentinels can no longer cast power of Hysh ;-)
For the Grand Strategy: Why not Prized Sorcery for the Lumineth? All of your units are Wizards. That's more than the 4 Battleline. Just dont get tabled and you score the Grand Strategy.

Amusing, since he remembered it for the horse unit earlier, but forgot the archers were no longer a wizard. So no sunmetal, so the 5 doesn't cause a mortal wound to the vampire lord, so the vampire lord doesn't die to the horses. (Well, assuming he saved against the potential normal archer attack.) Not that it's a huge game changer overall, but interesting string of wounds.

I know that Teclis has a spell called Protection of Teclis that gives a 5+ ignore wounds. I believe that they use the term Ward save from WHFB, that was a type of save that some units had that could be used if your ordinary save failed.
@@Uhlgarth makes sense, but I think Luka uses it for his Skeletons at one point as well and, looking through the Soulblight Battletome, I can't find any ability that allows them to do it
He guys great to see another lumineth match. Couple of questions though. In round 1 did the loreseeker use his missile attack (or did it fail to make it into the final edit). Also in round 1 when returning slain models (fight with the dawnriders) they need to be within a inch of a model that was not returned but it looked like they were added more on one side? Anyways keep up the good work.
I personally don't care to watch games with optimized lists. To me, seeing an army's potential means setting everything it has to offer. I'd love to see more battle cattles, hurakan units, etc. Even if they're not powerful I think they're still cool.
It’s fine to play with an army set-up you like, and Teclis isn’t worse than many of the other big heroes right now. It’s cool to see him from time to time on the channel. That also looked like a fun list. I also love the paint scheme of both of those armies. But it would be great if there were less mistakes with the Lumineth. Just the first battle: the Loreseeker staff is a missile weapon, and the Dawnriders would have gotten 15 lance attacks, 4 sword attacks and 20 horse attacks with 1 unit. So likely those Skellies would have been a pile of bones. Get those reps in : ) 👍

I play LRL I play more of the Hurakan side with running Severith and an unnamed wind spirit and it's stronger than teclis. Mainly for objective play which wins games. While you can complain about teclis being oppressive to magic Lucca could have a counter play to him. However, if Severith was here SGBL can do literally nothing to touch him and so it makes for boring matches in my opinion.

Why couldn't Mannfred teleport in the first battle? His rule is if enemy models are within 3" and they had to be within 3" to pile in, or have I missed something?
He kept them outside of 3" of Mannfred but within 3" of the skeletons. Because you only have to be as close/closer to the unit you started near they were able to move over and engage Mannfred after his rule can be used.

personally i like seeing variety as long as it dose not turn in to a super one sided match from the get go keep up the good work guys. ill be honest thou Teclis just being able to do what he wants in the casting phase is why i dont like him since the player just says what he wants to do and it happens if he just had a +2 to cast and dispel i dont think people would be that mad about him its not fun when you are not given a chance to counter play
You are given a chance to counter play, you can unbind his spells, except if he casts one per turn which almost never happens. It’s more consistent than someone like Kroak or Nagash, but it can be actually easier (although still very difficult for many) to unbind his spell than Kroak’s or Nagash etc., you can get past 10 quite often with those. It might not be the most fun ability for everyone, but you can interact with Teclis spell casting.
I'd say lists without Teclis are scarier than Teclis lists. It's kinda like Nagash in OBR- the faction as a whole is so strong that dropping the god for more spears/archers is usually the scarier bet. So dont blame yourself that Gdubs made a faction that *cant* make a friendly list

I personally don’t see the point in playing the army to its fullest potential when most of the time, you guys play random lists anyway. It’s more interesting to see you guys switch things and try lists that most people wouldn’t think of. It may not be the best, but at least you know your opponent isn’t playing something that will run over you. I say keep playing the way y’all want but I wouldn’t mind seeing luka bringing nothing but stalkers and morghasts from OBR to face off 3-4 of the mountain cows from lumineth
He was Grom’s nemesis, but then his Griffin got killed and he was captured and blinded by Dark Elves and he turned his nemesisness to them when he escaped. And basically became Daredevil.
This was a fun watch, but I think that SBGL list is over the points limit. 2145 is what it adds up to when I do some quick math. I might be wrong, but I just wanted to point that out. Sorry if it's incorrect.

also the way the shields are worded its +1 to save not setting it at a 4 so they can at best be at a 5+ even in legion of nights bonus or with all out defense
Do you mean for Grave Guard? It's true in their case that the shield option gives them +1 to save, so they can't be better than 4+. The Skeletons don't have an *option* for shields, it's simply counted in their Save Characteristic of 5+ on their Warscroll. So they also can get to a maximum of 4+ save.
Just gunna throw this out @Steve play whatever you want man have fun with it theres alot of good options in realm lords none of which are broken despite what people say. Its one of those armies for content creation id talk over lists with opponents pregame make sure there an understanding in power level but beyond that just have fun. 40 archers can do work or you run into other good magic armies that turn off power of hysh and lambent light then your dmg just falls off the deep end for 600pts of your army... If you get the chance try some of the wind temple or alarith temple units theyre alot of fun and shouldnt generate as much internet hate as long as it isnt like 3 wind spirits with 3 allied allopexes.... If you read this comment leme know I can toss ya a link to the lrl discord we talk up fun list ideas all the time.
How to know competitive players from casual. Teclis is broken /op / under costed etc. 😄 Lrl gatekeep the top tables. But sadly are always the bridesmaid never the bride. So loreseeker under the GHB rules is in a grey area about unique. Technically in GHB he isn't unique in his pitch battle profiles and in the FAQs he is referenced as unique but not actually set as unique.

Your group is less hard core about not counting cocked dice. I had to buy a giant wooden dice tray to stop people from making me re-roll my sixes because the dice isn't totally flat.
While I understand why you don't want to bring 40 sentinels, you could still bring 20 (either 1x20 or 2x10). This would show off some of their power without being overpowered. But keep up the fun lists! :)
Watching a battle report where the players are good sports and are having a good time makes all the difference.
Endless legions to bring a unit back is at the end of each players turn (both battleshock phases) as per the faq! That would've helped!

Why did you never use Mannfred's Command ability? That wouldve been super play with him teleporting in giving the blood knights +1/+1

Round 2 turn 1, I believe the archers couldn't unleash hell cause they redeployed in the same turn. Great vid and game guys!
2 different phases.
Movement and charge respectfully.
Can't be given 2 commands in the same phase.
Redeploy states that you can make a d6 move with a unit but "it cannot shoot later in the turn".

ill be honest thou Teclis just being able to do what he wants in the casting phase is why i dont like him since the player just says what he wants to do and it happens if he just had a +2 to cast and dispel i dont think people would be that mad about him its not fun when you are not given a chance to counter play
You are given a chance to counter play, you can unbind his spells, except if he casts one per turn which almost never happens. It’s more consistent than someone like Kroak or Nagash, but it can be actually easier (although still very difficult for many) to unbind his spell than Kroak’s or Nagash etc., you can get past 10 quite often with those. It might not be the most fun ability for everyone, but you can interact with Teclis spell casting.
The loreseekers staff is a missile weapon - i didnt think you could use a missile weapon in the combat phase?
I'd say lists without Teclis are scarier than Teclis lists. It's kinda like Nagash in OBR- the faction as a whole is so strong that dropping the god for more spears/archers is usually the scarier bet.
So dont blame yourself that Gdubs made a faction that *cant* make a friendly list

When Manfred kill a model he also buff +1a for units within 12 in right ?

@@xvxnightmaresxvx i looked in the rule and it also has to be killed by the sword weapon, unfortunately i don't think he manages to kill a model while nearby the skeletons with said sword.

I personally don’t see the point in playing the army to its fullest potential when most of the time, you guys play random lists anyway. It’s more interesting to see you guys switch things and try lists that most people wouldn’t think of. It may not be the best, but at least you know your opponent isn’t playing something that will run over you. I say keep playing the way y’all want but I wouldn’t mind seeing luka bringing nothing but stalkers and morghasts from OBR to face off 3-4 of the mountain cows from lumineth

He was Grom’s nemesis, but then his Griffin got killed and he was captured and blinded by Dark Elves and he turned his nemesisness to them when he escaped. And basically became Daredevil.
That was a fun game to watch. Teclis is awesome, and like with everything, if you like it, play it!

This was a fun watch, but I think that SBGL list is over the points limit. 2145 is what it adds up to when I do some quick math. I might be wrong, but I just wanted to point that out. Sorry if it's incorrect.

@@campbellbartlett4170 That would make sense. They mentioned at some point that the list was supposed to 1995 points, which is exactly what it would be without the Fell Bats. So that's probably what happened.

with loreseeker IF he stays non-unique then indeed flaming sword is bloody awesome. If errata for GHB will put him back to unique then can't use flaming sword.
also the way the shields are worded its +1 to save not setting it at a 4 so they can at best be at a 5+ even in legion of nights bonus or with all out defense
Do you mean for Grave Guard? It's true in their case that the shield option gives them +1 to save, so they can't be better than 4+. The Skeletons don't have an *option* for shields, it's simply counted in their Save Characteristic of 5+ on their Warscroll. So they also can get to a maximum of 4+ save.

Just gunna throw this out @Steve play whatever you want man have fun with it theres alot of good options in realm lords none of which are broken despite what people say. Its one of those armies for content creation id talk over lists with opponents pregame make sure there an understanding in power level but beyond that just have fun. 40 archers can do work or you run into other good magic armies that turn off power of hysh and lambent light then your dmg just falls off the deep end for 600pts of your army... If you get the chance try some of the wind temple or alarith temple units theyre alot of fun and shouldnt generate as much internet hate as long as it isnt like 3 wind spirits with 3 allied allopexes.... If you read this comment leme know I can toss ya a link to the lrl discord we talk up fun list ideas all the time.

So loreseeker under the GHB rules is in a grey area about unique. Technically in GHB he isn't unique in his pitch battle profiles and in the FAQs he is referenced as unique but not actually set as unique.
Cool so no unique keywords means he ain't unique.
Also in the GHB the looreseeker isn’t unique so you can give him artefacts

But by using your logic, i will now run a unit of 3 Zombie Dragons in my Gravelord army, as the GHB doesnt list them as single, like it does in other books.

Your group is less hard core about not counting cocked dice. I had to buy a giant wooden dice tray to stop people from making me re-roll my sixes because the dice isn't totally flat.

You're doing drops wrong. Core Battalions do not let you drop together. If they still let you do that then the Battle Regiment doesn't make any sense.

i watch MWG for the personalities and the fun, if I wanted to watch 2 optimised lists go at each other i wouldn't be watching MWG
While I understand why you don't want to bring 40 sentinels, you could still bring 20 (either 1x20 or 2x10). This would show off some of their power without being overpowered.
But keep up the fun lists! :)
