Great video's Mick.....Keep 'em coming!
Tank looks so much better mick good job
I am impressed with the way the product worked for saltwater.
I used it two days ago and it’s got my water looking absolutely clear the first day I didn’t notice anything but the second day was 💯💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I have placed a few polishing filters in my overflow to collect what was falling off and everything looks amazing I will be basting the sand tonight and adding another dose in two weeks from first dose simply amazed right now
Awesome broo👍👍👍
Vibrant worked like magic for my aquarium. In one week water was way clearer and all algae was thinning. I did double dose the first two weeks (no corals only fish) and had amazing results. Three weeks and it's 99% gone. I only ran a filter sock and carbon / gfo in a filter bag. I plan to do a 20% WC soon and add a few fish. Tank is 8 months old but the cleanest it's ever been, water is crystal clear as well.
Great 👍🏻
Your tank is so clean-looking now ! Well done. Question plse: I hav begun my Vibrant treatment, even before I saw your video.. I am 6-days into it. I use 2 'algae scrubbers' in lieu of a refugium. Worked great and kept my PH at 7.9-8.3 Now though, the scrubbers are backing off production a lot due to the Vibrant. (doesn't discriminate, no).... So if you were me, what would you do now, and in the long run? How do we maintain our high PH and watch our nitrate-exporting refugiums die off? (but enjoy the clean tank!!) PH has dropped off some but not that much. Just not seeing standard algae growth in the scrubbers any more. Not dead/dying..... NO3 is 5+ btw.
This is basically vinegar dosing...save yourself 25 bucks n use 1 mil of white distilled vinegar per gallon...you'll achieve the same results probably in less time....ive been dosing vinegar now for a month and my water is pristine crystal clear and parameters are spot on!!!
It is not the same as vinegar, or carbon dosing. Vibrant is an algaecide. Carbon dosing helps control algae by reducing phosphate and nitrate but diatoms are silicate based.
Hi . Just wanted to ask what is the water pump that you were using to top up your tank from the gallon . I can't find anything narrow enough to go in the small hole and pump it out.
First in :)
Check your ro water for silicates. It could be time to change your membranes.
What about the algae? in this moment disappeared ?, anymore algae ?. or back again to appear ?
Question : I noticed u had a tv next to the tank. I’m getting into reef tanks and still debating whether to set up the tank in my living room where the fish could be exposed to loud music maybe a couple of times a month when I have people over. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hey mate I wouldn’t worry about it my fish are all fine with music and the tv 👍🏻
Question what dosing did you do to get that kind of result in 22 hours without killing corals or fish? It says to basically dose 1 Tablespoon per 10 gallons 2X a week on very dirty tanks. My sand bed looks better but my rocks cannot seem to shake the brown algae. Thanks for the feedback.
1 time a week for dirtier tanks and for a well taken care of tank 1 time every two weeks
Try using phosphate reactors
Mick. Can I ask where you got your 2000L tank from? Did you have it made to order and if yes who made it? Thank you.
Yes it’s custom made from ND aquatics mate best tanks in the uk by far
Definitely not the best tanks in the UK, they are solid tanks at a good price. For a quality tank on a stricter budget they are your go to, but otherwise if you got the cash there are definitely far better custom tank builders.
Rinse your sand before filling up your tank and you will rarely run into bad diatoms like this, if you simply pour the bag into the tank (you’ll see the dust kicked up) this dust contains heavy silicates and that’s what the diatoms feed on, the more you stir the sand to clear the diatom the worse they get, vibrant will visually look like it’s working but it will piss your corals off and lower your nutrients, I’ve used it and it did my corals no good at all, killed my torches and that was a really weak dose, you shouldn’t need to use biocides in a reef tank if your parameters are stable
Thanks for the advice mate. I don’t have a reef tank anymore but going to start a small one soon 👍🏻
Hi Mick, ahh sorry to hear that, what happened? Or did you just move house..
Can I use this product in my cichlid tank
Ever use any UV light treatment?
Don’t want any more things to plug in 🤣. I have on fresh water and the do work
can i introduce vibrant on a new cycled tank.. as a precaution before algae comes in ??
I wouldn’t mate let it cycle first
50 snails, once per day feeding, and 6 hours of lights cleared my diatoms in my 230 gallon reef aquarium within a week....
What's the name of the snails used pls?
Will this help with turf algae?
What dimension in cm?
Can you use this on fresh water aquarium s?? Or is there something similar?
They sell vibrant freshwater
More flow.
Try turning down the white light cycle and shorten the time your lights on.
I keep a malawi tank how hard is keeping marine in your honest opinion
It’s not so bad if you already keep fish you are half way there 👍🏻
@@MicksFishUk ok ill have to look into it cheers
How do you feel about Vibrant now after the news leaked that they've been lying about what it is?
@@eric_schaaf yep
Salt water tanks always look so good, but ill always prefer freshwater!!
Did you experience any Cyano bacteria post treatment? Also, how did your hammers hold up? I treated my tank with vibrant and experienced and massive outbreak of Cyano and lost all my frogs pawns and hammer corals. Now I’m starting to dose again in efforts to rid of a bad hair algae outbreak.
Hope I have better luck this time around!
I dosed it and got dinoflagellates cause the vibrant killed all the competing algae and dinos came in. You have to have balance in a reef tank and I will not use vibrant again
That looks suspiciously like dinoflagellates to me… not diatoms
sorry for my english.... vibrant is top but kill my blue sponge, hello from Italy
did it kill your chaeto?
Can i use it in fresh water instead of salt water?
I don’t think so mate
is there a fresh water version
Yeah there’s a freshwater version
@@reecesingleton4041 cant find it whats it called
@@kevinhillier9023 it’s just called vibrant freshwater
Kill the background music please. Good video though
That’s not diatoms.
You got dinos by using vibrant thats not diatoms
Stay away from vibrant, never used before in my tanks yesterday I've decided to use it in a 40gal tank I've dosed it correctly according to instructions it killed two of the clowns I had there in matter of hours, even a clown that had been with me for over 6 years enduring changing tanks even moving houses. This is a disaster don't take the risk
Vibrant absolutely does not kill fish. Even if you overdose it you are just likely to kill some of your corals like zoas. You probably had brooks or something, which can take the fish that quick. Really shouldn't spread rumours.
@@dbetty291 Sorry is not rumour nothing else was added to the tank, tank was running as usual couple of hours after adding vibrant both fish were dead.
