Great video, I really enjoyed viewing it, maybe they could put up a big sign warning of that high spot on the road. You are a lovely couple and wishing you good luck on your travels.
Hi and thank you very much we really do appreciate it, we did say about putting a sign up however with Spanish laws it takes a very long time to action if they get around to it. They have also informed Google to highlight the passable road however nothing has happened. Happy travels 😊
We were there the same time as you. Can see our van in the background. Absolutely love this campsite. It is a lot easier for us though, as we're a lot smaller. Good to highlight this for the bigger motorhomes. 👍
Hi it is a great site and we would definitely return just on the safe route in 🤣 Hopefully this has helped others to navigate their way in as the main problem is the map systems don’t recognise one of the roads the safe way so thinks it's blocked and not accessible which isn’t the case. Happy travels 😊
Hi we did the same thing a few years ago there .The water tank was pushed back 6 inches luckily it was not damaged 😊Have fun .lovely beach walk not far from there xx
dont contikis have suspension lifts to raise it up while your on bumpy surfises as mine i can lift mine up a extra 6inches when on rough roads so i dont damage under neath
Hi Lee and Jodie,I have a 24 plate Kon-tiki 784,the fresh water drain is now fitted inside of the chassis but the tanks are lower as they have large screw caps on them
Hi. Loving your videos. We went to that same campsite last year in our 7.5mtr motorhome. We saw the bump in the road and reversed down the hill and turned round! We recognised the road straight away on your video. Glad the damage wasn't too bad.
You also don’t glue the fittings as they are push fit so if something like this happens again they can come apart rather than rip the bottom of the tank out
Another great vlog guys, so honest with no frills, love the ways you guys present and give such honest and candid reviews. I'm so glad my new Knaus motorhome comes with adjustable rear air suspension, it saves me from ripping the backside off of the rear of my new motorhome.
Hi and thank you very much we really appreciate it, rear suspension is a great idea I may look at an upgrade at some stage depending on cost. It’s nice yours comes with it already 😊
Hello both, it was great to meet you and learn from you. We will definitely meet up again in the future and we can't wait 😊 Nige has added CT1 to his list 😂
Hi it was great to meet up with you both and thank you again for the drinks we loved chatting. Nige always have CT1 to hand it's amazingly strong and the water outlet is still held in place now from that one fix. We look forward to the next time we meet and as always happy travels 😊
Great video again. I caught ours on car park entrance going in and going out! But I think on the 23 model the water drain valve has been repositioned because I don’t have a long pipe. It just took off the insulation around the valve. But my wife wasn’t as happy with me. Air suspension would help but it would leave a very large dent in my wallet👍
Hi, i think you are right that it's now been repositioned for the better something i will look to do on ours and air suspension is great but like you say expense. Glad yours wasn’t to badly damaged. Happy travels 😊
A handy tip if approaching one of these bumps ,if you have leveling ramps slowly approach the highest bit of the bump throw the level ramps under one of the wheels it might just lift it enough to clear ,you could use 2 on 1 wheel laying them out ,even a block of wood might do ,obviously it depends how bad the hump is ,but all in all its worth a try .
Bought a VW campervan after touring Scotland in a 7metre motorhome. Each to their own but theres several good reasons theres so many VW campervans on the road..
Great watching you guys as we are looking at swopping our caravan for a motorhome as we would like to follow you and go abroad for the 90 days, which we fear in our caravan
Hi and thank you, motorhome's are great as you have so many more options to park up. Europe is so accommodating for motorhomes and lots of beautiful places to explore. Good luck with you swap 😊
Hi Julian, as a caravan owner I acknowledge that there are pros and cons to both caravans and motorhomes, just wondering why you are concerned about a long trip with your caravan. We are currently on our fourth 90 day trip with our caravan and having a blast.
I have a 24-year-old moterhome with a double floor...all tanks and all pipes are installed in the double floor so that they are damage-proof and frost-proof....I would never buy a motorhome without a double floor...😳
You need to walk down the the coast about 500m from the site and the stop is Los Rubios V to Malaga, we just got off at the station close to the port, you can see this on google maps to help. I think we got the M-263 however there is other buses numbers going into Malaga too. Hope this helps 😊
Hi Steve, the main reason is the cross road is a dirt track and not recognised as a road seeming like there is no way through so it wouldn’t matter what sat nav was used. This is the only time it let me down and it wasn’t even the sat nav's fault. Happy travels 😊
Ha… So I am now a true Kontiki owner…. Knocked the freshwater switch and pipe of today leaving a campsite in North Wales, Ty Mawr. Nowhere to avoid a stupidly high and wide speed bump exiting the site. Now to fix it. Mines a 2023 model 784 with the upgraded Alco chassis for the new 180bhp 9 speed auto. Very interesting , mine was held on new with 2 screws. No CTI or glue at all so it didn’t take much to rip it out. Looks like additional 2 screw holes in your bracket. Am lucky the wiring didn’t get ripped out as we stopped straight away. Our wire runs along the blue pipe, not like yours. May fix on like you tomorrow , but will also buy a 28mm manual tap and spare pipe and elbow.
Hi welcome to the team it still puzzles me as to why they see it as a good idea to place the freshwater outlet there 🤔 You would hope they have learnt from this mistake. It's worth having some spares as you say and ours is still held on from Malaga with CT1 until the next big bump in the road 🤣 Happy travels 😊
Hi, totally agree they are low and in the wrong place underneath the motorhome. I will be looking to get it moved if it's possible. Hopefully you got back on your travels after ripping yours off. 😊
Hi not a daft question at all 😊 CT1 UNIQUE ALL IN ONE SEALANT & ADHESIVE. One-stop, multi-purpose, waterproof, hybrid polymer sealant and adhesive, for the occasional user and professional tradesman alike. Sticks to almost any surface without the need for additional fixings, can be used in damp or wet conditions, can even be gunned under water! Happy travels 😊

It's definitely a lesson learnt and next time take more care in the planning of the route 😊 We agree the coastal walk there is lovely 👍😊
I hope swift will hopefully change this design seem to remember Roaming Radfords having issues with there Swift kon Tiki as well.
Hi, hopefully the newer models have a design change and they have learnt from peoples feedback. It's the only floor we have had.

Hi thank you for letting us now we appreciate it 😊
It’s crazy how low these vans are these days 🙈 you were very calm 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Took it all in my stride as i knew sooner or later was going to happen 🤣 definitely going to look at moving it back though 😊
Hi. Loving your videos. We went to that same campsite last year in our 7.5mtr motorhome. We saw the bump in the road and reversed down the hill and turned round! We recognised the road straight away on your video. Glad the damage wasn't too bad.
Hi and thank you so much, i hindsight i wish i had turned around now but overall we got away with it. Next time if in doubt reverse out 😊
You also don’t glue the fittings as they are push fit so if something like this happens again they can come apart rather than rip the bottom of the tank out
Thank you again we received the pictures and really appreciate the information 😊

We are enjoying these vlogs, nice repair.
Hi and thank you very much 😊
Great vlog, good job done on the repair.
Hi and thank you 😊

Glad you got sorted, great tips about the essential kit!
Hi, thank you 😊

Thank you for the handy tip something we think of next time the situation arises. Happy travels 😊
Great vlog ; I swapped my motor home for a camper van after 12 years , best thing I’ve ever done
Hi and thank you 😊 Glad you got the right vehicle for you and still enjoying vanlife. Happy travels 😊
We're looking at a van conversion this Thursday, going from coach built. Considered for 2 years now, so hope it's the right move!
Bought a VW campervan after touring Scotland in a 7metre motorhome. Each to their own but theres several good reasons theres so many VW campervans on the road..
Like you say each to their own VW's are just to small for us as we like the space so it's worth the hassle for now 👍😊

We had the same with our motor home move it back near the grey waist pipe
Hi, love this answer as this is something I've been thinking of getting done soon. It just makes more sense, Thank you 😊
Fair play. You both took that in your stride. The air would have been blue around me if that happened to me.
Hi, once it happens all you can do is go with it 🤦♂️ oh and a nice cold beer always helps 🤣
You should have stopped in Torre Del Mar or Nerja on way to Benidorm
Hi we have stopped in Nerja before and it was lovely 😊
Just subscribed. Loved it from rainy windy Britain
Hi and thank you for subscribing we really do appreciate it 😊
Wow that's my worst nightmare. Love watching you guy's thank you 😊
Hi and thank you. it's never nice when things go wrong 😑 Happy travels 😊
You take a90% end run it along the chase rail the. Another 90 so it comes out the side to the motorised valve the wiring doesn’t need altering
Thank you 😊
That’s the only thing with the air suspension you could have pumped it up but always the same after the event not to bad still looks nice
Hi yes full air suspension may of helped to lift the motorhome just enough to get over the hump. 👍
I have a 24-year-old moterhome with a double floor...all tanks and all pipes are installed in the double floor so that they are damage-proof and frost-proof....I would never buy a motorhome without a double floor...😳
Hi totally understand why however surly your water outlet pipe is on the outside to drain the water? Happy travels 😊
Hi what bus and what station did you get into malaga town centre from the campsite please
You need to walk down the the coast about 500m from the site and the stop is Los Rubios V to Malaga, we just got off at the station close to the port, you can see this on google maps to help. I think we got the M-263 however there is other buses numbers going into Malaga too. Hope this helps 😊
@@lifes4touring thank you great videos keep it up 👍
Get new Tom Tom Sat nav for campers best one out there cheers steve

We ripped our water pipe off coming out of our drive first time going out those pipes are too low
Hi, totally agree they are low and in the wrong place underneath the motorhome. I will be looking to get it moved if it's possible. Hopefully you got back on your travels after ripping yours off. 😊
Daft question, what's ct1?
Hi not a daft question at all 😊

What campsite is it ?
Camper Areas M&H El Ricon they have a website and it's on search for sites 👍
It's camperarea M&H Rincon . Lovely little motorhome park
Wouldn't have risked it if I had been warned.
There is always a risk in adventure sometimes you just get unluckily. Happy travels 😊
Stay safe....stay away from Spain..... getting dangerous!
Hi thank you, we will do our best to stay safe. 😊
how bad is that design
Totally agreed 👍
