Thanks Joe, another great and informative video. A two-adult household here so I just enabled the Malware option. We really love and appreciate our Starlink service out here in semi-rural Arizona outside Tucson, but it sure would be nice if Starlink were to send out more frequent notices to get our attention over improvements like this. CloudFlare DNS is one of those things that is so good it's weird that it is free.

Off topic ... 3 Starlink download upgrades within the last 2 weeks ... my speeds are down consistently from previous very fast down. Up is normal fluctuation sometimes so-so or other times veryh fast. Possibly due to much higher new accounts in my area? SW of Seattle aprox 20 miles
Yep yep they are using load balancing software, it's making a mess of things..... Especially the North West
I bet you're onto something.. The biggest issue is the service is OVERSOLD and of course, the ground-stations should be able to handle the traffic... :)

Off subject but maybe someone can help trying to order Starlink but it does not except my visa credit or debit cards, it’s show a .06 cent charge online when I check my cards and then a few hours later they cancel, my bank says my cards have no issues and it’s on there end but as you all know there is no way to contact them ugggg when ordering

Hi J... I tried to look at mine in the Starlink App, and it indicated the Starlink router was in the "bypass" mode. That is true because I have a dongle and my own router. It wouldn't allow me to see the settings unless I factory reset the router. What do you think the best way to go is at this point? Reboot and verify and change if necessary, or just change it in the home router ?
Correct.. You would need to make the settings as I said towards the end on a third-party router. Change the DNS Setting in the router you are by-passing to.

What Starlink really needs to do is implement two factor authentication to our accounts. There is no reason for an ISP with over 1 million subscribers not to have this in 2023.
Two factor authentication is a giant data hoover that I’d prefer not to be part of. The main reason I don’t use Google to sign in anywhere is 2FA
It doesn't have to be Google. There are other multi factor authentication services that aren't data hogs.@@kamakaziozzie3038

I mean I'm just being honest, I've had all these features on the app for at least 6 months, the DNS options have been a feature for at least a year.... I'm on Android.... as an aside if you use the duck duck go browser you can get even more filtering, plus it as location masking service.... lastly you can set your internal device settings to match your router DNS and even get faster throughout, I love ya and have always appreciated all you do, don't ever think I'm diminishing what you say, all I'm saying is simply these are features I've had on the app for a year..... Love you too, your funny, helpful, great on insight, detailed, caring, easy on the eyes, and entertaining! 🕊️
Yes, I've had all these features for about a year on the app......who knows maybe some people have updated software compared to others? Yeah, this is not new, but glad the app has the features!
There was a quality update to the dish, it shows now what Generation your equipment is in stats, advanced and settings view... 🕊️

i typed it in to my dns settings using the one for parental controls. Does iPhone private relay affect it? Do i need to clear some sort of cache? it's been a few days since I made that change and it hasn't worked yet. @@jcristina
