This was a great era for Delboy, all the characters were at their peak around this time, great days.
The shock on Mickey Pearce and he mate face when Rodney asked Cassandra to dance and she said yes.
How can you say they peaked by then? There were loads of classic episodes that came out in the late 80's and well into the 90's after this one.
@@SimoneFolker Read the comment again, dopey! He said they were at their peak NOT past their peak.
I love how Rodney gets protective over Del when Mickey Pearce starts to bad mouth him.... Brotherly love!
He does it a few times throughout the show it's always noticeably sweet. How family should be.
Yes. I can criticise my brother but no one else can
Always liked this scene, how rodney stands up for del as if to say hold on, he might be a wally but he's still my brother. Touching.
Absolutely right - Check out the latest release ua-cam.com/video/7nc3S32obeU/v-deo.html
What's the reason why these episodes have been edited like this ?
@@darrylwynwilliams1760 Music copyrights.
The way Mickey and Jevon look at each other when Rodney pulls Cassandra. 😂😂😂
amazing acting wasnt it?
@@OnlyFoolsHorses Absolutely brilliant mate. 👍
Cassandra prefer to dance with Rodney than Mickey Peace and Jevon.
I love that bit too 😂😂
Fools and horses was and still is the funniest show ever on British TV!!!
World-wide.
Hands down
@@paulnoble2640 i don't think so
It's up there.
It was also very funny when I watched it in Iceland and it's still very funny when I watch it in Spain
2:52. The way Rodney looks at Cassandra. The acting is brilliant. When you see a women you really like. I can really relate to that. He pulled that off incredible
It's about time a fully uncut Blu-Ray Box Set was released with a ton of extras on them as it's terrible the way the DVDs were butchered & i'm glad i've still got mostly uncut episodes on VHS.....
Absolutely
Even gold cut them now apart from tea for three and Jolly boys outing episodes so frustrating.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a uncut blu ray box set of only fools and horses. I've got the DVDs they cut out so many great parts and it's not the same especially the jolly boys outing
Snowflake smoflake if they don't like it don't watch it simple
They have butchered Slater's first episode also.
Filmed at broadway boulevard, in Ealing W5, in 1988.
I been there twice.
Season 6 of OFAH was the absolute peak for me. Just about every episode was excellent, and all the characters were on top form. It didn’t get better than this for me as a season
I just watched this TV again for the umpteenth time...can never get tired of it. The era was one of the best times of my life...the 80s...nothing better than the 80s, the TV, School life, Culture, Music and everything. As time goes on I think more and more about this era. I was shocked to listen to Nicholas Lyndhurst in an interview since he spoke nothing like Rodney. Its always an amazing actor who can also change their accent where you'd never know. Peter Sellers was an example of this. My fav one is the Jolly Boys outing - its great to see Bembom brothers amusement park - first place I had ever seen a rollercoaster.
If you look at early interviews of Nicholas Lyndhurst he does speak more like Rodney, but if you watch an interview now his voice is very affected and put on, not natural.
Never gets tiring watching this brilliant programme. Great writing, timing and casting. Timeless classics
Totally agree
whats your top episode?
That's a great question, ive watched them all loads of times. It's got to be between the jolly boys outing, mother nature son and yuppy love as to the one I've watched the most.
Chain gang@@OnlyFoolsHorses
THANK YOU!!! it hurts my soul when I'm rewatching episodes for the 1000th time and I know there's scenes missing/music changed lol
So true Alun
Crazy isn’t it!
Welcome to the club
i remember this seen when first telivised.but it was cut out on the VHS i bought becouse i think of copyright.only bit is cut out of this seen is rodney asking for a dance and jevon talking to the girl
I know the feeling, had this recorded on video back when it was first repeated in 1991, and was surprised that this one was cut when I saw it on DVD.
Mickey Pearce was a funny character. Should have been in more episodes. Thanks for posting. 👍
These were the days.. Miss em... What a great era for comedy and owning a cortina.
Absolutely right
I think this whole series (longer format episodes started) was the best era of the show: talk about tapping into the zeitgeist of late '80s UK: yuppies, aspirational working classes etc. Great stuff.
3:18 3 seconds of comedy that’s better than anything the BBC could even dream of putting out these days 🤣
It's appalling that these classics were chopped up like this. Some great dialogue omitted.
I totally agree & don't understand why. I have only encountered this problem since moving to Australia from England & some episodes have been altered or cut & I'm confused why that is.
@PepsiMan yep its been happening for years The mighty quinn is one example
I remember 80s life when I see this. Clubs had the smooch down at the end. It was the pulling moment. The music and life was special then. It's different now, with its ups and downs. Life then, has found memories. This clip is like a time machine.
yes that's true, bonnet de douche
I totally agree, I've been trying to get hold of this beautiful track for years, please tell me if you know who sings it🤞🤞🤞
Every time I've seen this episode that scene has always started from Jevon saying "And tonight's lucky winner is..."
Thanks for showing me the rest of it! 😊
Your welcome, glad it filled in the gaps for you. Have you seen the other cuts revealed on this channel?
@@OnlyFoolsHorses I'm working through them! 😁
It was awful how we had to endure the choppy version for years because of the copyright music issue. Gwyneth Strong really was stunning in her first episode of the series.
Ive always said she gets a bit too much stick from fans of the series. Alright shes not Meryl Streep, but i thought she was a pretty good match for the character, as she wasnt meant to be hilarious.
@@mmsiphonevinyls1027 Cassie and Rodders were the perfect match but I was never that keen on Del and Rachel..
Agree; she played the part perfectly too.
She was wasnt she then she got to look like Rodney over the next few series.
@@deedee-tc4fh "Who's Rachel?" 😀
Thank god you’ve uploaded this! Exactly how I remember as a kid, word for word with the unedited music too! 👍🏻
These scenes were in the original bbc broadcast from 1989. I’ve got those episodes recorded on VHS
Absolutely Brilliant 😎👍🏻👏
I was thinking the same thing, they took them out to make the TV programme a bit shorter, ive got the dvd box set up till they got the 6.2 mill for the the Harrison time piece, the episodes after that shouldn't have been made.....just my opinion
@@francoandjimtherotties2592they were cut because of the background music rights. Such a shame.
Thank you so much for posting this - I've been looking for the uncut version for ages! Love the 80s vibe, music and atmosphere so much - that Errol Brown track "Love Goes Up And Down" really makes this scene. Fantastic.
It's time that the uncut/unedited episodes were released on dvd/blu-ray!
@@jonathanmumford5982 I agree. Even if they did there would be something else that would be cut out, even if it's not obvious. I heard the recent Bluray of Dates released "uncut" they have muted out the train station tannoy announcement system jingle because it's "copyright", yeah right lol. It's like they have to cut something out or change something, even when there is no reason to cut or change anything.
If you're after any uncut episodes I do have the uncut ep of Miami Twice part 2 where Del and Rodney are in Miami. I came across it on a google account but for some reason there is a laughter track added at certain moments, but all the scenes are uncut as far as I could tell. It doesn't appear to come from UKGold or a BBC broadcast.
Just finished recording a podcast about this episode and we were talking about some of these scenes! Great work finding them and putting them together.
Can you help me, I've been searching for the name of the beautiful tune as Rodders and Cassandra dance, I've picked up as many lyrics I can hear which are,
Your love is strange, but your not to blame, oh baby, yeah yeah, your enchantment comes from up up above, the suns down, the moon's bright, oh yeah yeah yeah, (then there's a gap), I'll take you away,
Magical tune that I've wanted for over thirty years lol, please advise 🤞🤞🤞
Brilliant! Just watching this on Gold for the milliomf time, and thought I'm going to look for that scene where Rodney ask Casandra to dance! And here it is! Thanks. Subscribed 👍
Great stuff Mark
Brilliant, some footage I've never seen!
First part I've never seen so thanks for this.
Jevons a right lad 😂
Whoa whoa whoa! This clip came to mind when I woke up (random I know) and now all of a sudden it’s in my recommended list!!
😳
Disgusting that this scene was cut from the video and DVD releases. This scene in particular makes no sense without this part and it is downright baffling to those who have never seen it. I watched an American guy react to this episode and he said "but he didn't even ask her to dance", which shows how ludicrous it is. The BBC seem to be ashamed of the fact that this is their most successful sitcom, not least because it accurately depicts how real men actually talk to each other and reflects the reality that people who have had harder lives have a harder sense of humour.
"5 ordinary mortals...she hasn't met ME yet!".
I've been using Jevon's chat up technique since '89...failing miserably!
Mickey and Jevons faces crack me up 😆 🤣 😂
Especially when Rodney got a dance off Cassandra then Jevon and Mickey Pearce cadge a lift off Cassandra Rodney then lied to Cassandra saying he lived in a grand house 🏠 in the king's Avenue.🤣
thanks.been a longtime since ive seen these seens
I always remember having these scenes on the VHS version, but then, years later when I purchased the DVD, they were gone, it had been cut for some reason......like many other scenes from Video, ah well, at least your sharing them now LOL, and thank you :-)
It's to do with the music in the background. The publishers of the DVDs didn't want to go to the expense of buying the copyrights on the songs, so simply edited any scenes with them in, out.
Cassandra was attractive young but even better older and in real life 🎉
Definitely got hotter as they years went by.
It's sooo good this. I remember watching this the first time but not these extra bits. Devon is so smooooth. It's a crime it's been cut for DVD. Doubly so because I didn't know.
Yes I agree - it is a crime worthy of Crimewatch or Trotter Watch!
The BBC don't want to fork out for music royalties would rather butcher their best loved comedy show
Chusty keep up the good work my man, you've earned another subscriber.
@dan many thanks mate
haha God's foster son!
Jevon's a smooth operator..
Priceless!!!
Everyone was just so well casted in OFAH, particularly Del and Rodney.
Yes thats true, who was your favorite character if yuo had to pick?
@@OnlyFoolsHorses Difficult! In terms of versatility as an actor it must be David Jason - that someone can simultaneously portray a green-behind-the-ears Errand Boy and a street-wise, brash hookey goods dealer is testiment to his ability and the courage of the casting agents! Nicholas Lyndhurst is also just utterly perfick for the role as his foil, his facial expressions steal the scene often. But then I love ever scene with Buster Merryfield in :)
I disagree. Cassandra was an absolutely awful casting choice.
Do you wanna dance?
No!
Right
🤣🤣
Brilliant. Well done Rodney.
thats on my dvd from the boxset so not a lost cut out scene
The only time I’ve seen this cut out is on uk gold they even cut the passadeanas out of the dance scene and played some stupid music
Blunderz it’s not on the UA-cam version or the DVD version I’ve got.
Blunderz you can clearly see this has been recorded off Gold. Look at the video you’re watching and the top left hand corner. There’s some of this which is cut from the DVD version and broadcast version with the two girls
This scene is missing on my DVDs. If it is due to the use of Lady In Red, then it is somewhat annoying, since that song was on the Only Fools and Horses CD that came out a few years ago, which was made up of many of the songs used in the show.
I wish nightclubs were like that now in them days they had nice ordinary songs playing at the right volume, flashing lights were just on the ceilings and people just having a little dance and few drinks and then when they closed they'ed just say goodnight and go home. Not like they are now i e people getting too drunk, being sick all over the place, all getting into fights, getting arrested, beaten up or even stabbed to death it's just not on.
Great footage 👍🤜💥🤛
Thank you so much - Bonnet de Douche
It works so much better with the cuts !
love the old nightclub scene.....happy days.
Yes it has a great atmosphere doesnt it @Swift Cee
The edit cleaned the scene up a treat . . .
Thanks for the comment
when it first came on tv i remember watching the part where jevon is talking to the girl but that part wasnt in the vhs and somtimes when shown on uk gold too
I have a feeling that the very first broadcast had different music too, I had the original on VHS for years
I think Cassandra's pal would've been more my type! lol Gotta like that hair do 😂
i reckon Jevon would have been your type.
I had a friend who has OFAH on DVD. it was the first time on dvd, nothing altered or cut. The bbc decided to re'relase them and notice the changes they made.
That song in the background. Errol brown love goes up and down. What a banger !
absolutely right
Whats a shame is that i dont think you can get this specific version. It seems like it was a new mix specifically created for use in this episode. The original version (on youtube) has a more simple beat that just isnt as good imo.
Was trying to Shazam it and it wasn't working. Thank you :)
They need to get it on spotify !!
@@mmsiphonevinyls1027 good news i just looked and rainbow has the 1989 dub bersion sounds more like it 😍
MICKY PEARCE, now we know where Inbetweeners Jay Cartwright character comes from this dozy bollock
I love these UNCUT versions! Designed to offend! Bring more
I actually prefer the bit where Rodney asks Cassandra for a dance to be cut - much funnier seeing things from Mickey & Jevon's point of view, he walks up to her and they immediately walk to the dancefloor together - makes his smug look over to them all the funnier!
Interesting thought, not many on here see cuts as a positive
Interesting point. I do feel the extended start of this scene makes it better though....the way it is shown on tv today (starting with “...and tonight’s lucky winner is”) is way too abrupt.
Love the song in the background ❤
Ready to move with sinuous grace where the music takes me 😂
Cut from what ? I remember this scene clearly when it was originally shown.
You missed loads of bits!!!!
It does depend what version is broadcast and most people are watching via VHS (lol) DVD or online streaming - but some times Gold do use the original BBC broadcast
@@OnlyFoolsHorses VHS - LoL ? ! ! Back in the ( Good Ol' ) Days , Video Home System RULED !
The scene before jevon says “the next lucky winner is” was deleted and the moment when Rodney asked Cassandra to dance
They cut the line on TV where Mickey refers to all the birds he has had.
Jevon and Mickey, a dynamic duo..
This was filmed at my local night club called the Parkside club, it was great now closed down only great memories exist.
nice
I love it, underdogs getting one up
I always remember a scene where del finds out that boycies Masonic lodge was actually just his shed in the garden!! But have never seen it again in any of the episodes!! Pretty sure I didn’t dream it??😭
Never seen that cut!
Only Fools & Horses maybe it’s a case of the nelson Mandela house effect!!😀😀😀😀
@@AdTheBaron Nice one! I don't think many people know about the Mandela Effect. It only struck me the 2nd time Mandela died.
Ok, have just subscribed... Nice one my son.
Thanks for the sub!
I remember this scene when it was first broadcast,
Absolutely - seems so many scenes i remember suddenly are no longer on my DVD
Fantastic! The episodes that are on Netflix are all uncut I believe. Jolly Boys Outing has the missing club scene in it.
Good to know
I have all the episodes on dvd, I have never noticed this bit cut.
Pure brilliance ..
Cosmic
Cosmic
I have often wondered why the Rodney asking Cassandra to dance was cut from the DVD release, Also Uncle Albert singing Ada in Tea for Three was also cut which would make anyone who watches it for the first time question why Rodney later says to Albert about him singing that daft song, I get that there has to be a few cuts here and there due to the amount of times "Paki" and "Chinky" was used especially when being shown on TV, But the vast majority of the "Paki" and "Chinky" remarks were not cut from the DVD [Except for Tea for Three again] where Rodney offers cheese and references getting the cheese from the "Paki shop", That is cut from my DVD.
I hate on the original last episode in 1996 they don’t use the classic song when they show the Trotters wealth as millionaires. Luckily I have some on recording from repeats when I was young before these copyright, woke mentality and rights issues.
Yeah I'm bewildered by this too. Even the music to the omen was changed when Rodney finds out del is having a boy. What a joke.
@@garyclarke9685 Personally, I think the reasons for these odd cuts and changes are just lazy excuses and that there was never any rights issues. I think the BBC (and not just the BBC) just like to mess with the episodes. I've seen this happen with shows like Heartbeat when it was released on DVD; they seem to change certain songs for certain episodes for a particular series, yet in other episodes the songs that were changed or replaced for another episode they have kept in (for example, for series 2 ep "Over the Hill" Hendrix's Hey Joe was used on the ITV broadcast, but on the DVD release they replaced it with a cover song. But, on a later series episode (series 5 ep "Arms and the Man" they have kept Hey Joe by Hendrix in for the DVD like it was originallly used on ITV. So how can this be down to rights issues if one episode has the song but another episode they have replaced it with something else?. Also, like with OFAH, I've noticed a few short scenes cut or trimmed for no apparent reason, 3 of them for series 2.
@@Embracing01 3 of them from season 2 I somehow missed that. I was thinking of later episodes from season 4 episode 5. Yes I think your right about laziness carnt be rights as when of&h was released all the content was in other than the seance episode that was extended by 5 minutes. Out of all the cut scenes the one that has made me the most upset is the Damien music being changed after the birth of the baby. Was not impressed thanks for reply
@@garyclarke9685 No I was referring to the Heartbeat episodes as an example to show how the cut scenes don't make sense when released on video. Network who made the Heartbeat had no major issues with using many of the songs that ITV used on their broadcast, apart from obviously Beatles songs and some Hendrix songs, and apart from those every song ITV used Network could use as well, so I find it hard to believe that a BBC produced VHS or DVD release couldn't use the song in the nightclub scene in this ep or the Omen theme in Heroes and Villains. The cut scenes of those series 2 Heartbeat episodes I have no explanation for why they were cut, though could be because ITV didn't give Network the raw music-free copy of the episode without the Beatles music, so they may've muted the audio track and placed the cover song on top, but because there's a short scene with dilogue with a character and a taxi driver (ep "End of the Line") with the original song present, it's likely they had no choice but to cut the scene out. If so, then why didn't ITV give the DVD company the music-free episode?.
Ive got an early 2000 dvd and this scene is missing :) Thanks

Later on things turned a little awkward when Cassandra found out about the bet!
I remember this scene. It is so unfair they cut parts of this clip from the DVD version.
I remember this scene. Is this scene cut from DVD box sets?! I was gonna buy one... but bollocks to that if stuff is cut.
It's cut from gold but in the dvds
Thse only bit I had never seen was the couple of seconds when he actually asks her. On my dvd he walks up to her, they cut to Mickey amd Jevon and then cut back to Rodney and Cass and they're on the dance floor with her
Yes many DVD owners have none of this for others Gold shows varios edited and unedited versions it appears
Every time I see this scene, they show the heavily edited version with different music and the terrible laughter track. So good to see this scene in its original edit. Thanks for sharing!
Well done Rodney my son.
Don't make them like they used to... Pure gold
Very true hope your enjoying our revisit series ?
Have you seen the first one Big Brother Revisit on ua-cam.com/video/5MceMADo1Eo/v-deo.html
Didn't they change the music in the background for this one? The Funky Worm's "The Spell" and Erroll Brown's "Love Goes Up and Down" were replaced with some generic copyright free music in the repeats from what I remember.
Its sadly often the way with these Only Fools and Horses episodes. Its hard to beleive that Only fools doesnt bring in enough income to cover the royalties for the original background music selected by its creators like John Sullivan and team
@Kevin Thomas didnt know that. Cheers
I thought they had changed the music too, i am sure it was some disco/ Ballard tune they slowly dance too?
These days they cut the entire part that has The Spell in it, and start the scene at 1:21 as Love Goes Up And Down begins (“and tonight’s lucky winner is...”). When it ends, they then cut from 4:43 to 5:00, and overdub some generic background music when Rodney and Cassandra dance.
@@procta2343 Yes, the Pasadena's "Enchanted Lady".
I got other copies of Episodes that has missing scenes on the DVD, Such as the Jolly Boys outing, Del & Rodney in the Club at Margate before Raquel Appears, lots of scenes missing in a Royal Flush too which both DVD & Tv has been cut from 76 mins to 59 min, apart from the VHS & DVD Disc 13 of the ofah Collection edition. Miami Twice has scenes missing in both parts 1 & 2, the 1st part at the end where Del & Rodeny board the plane, Part 2, Del & Rodney meet the mafia at the club.

Just watched this on Gold at 8pm in 2023….absolutely brutalised. Total travesty. Cuts straight to Jevon attempting to chat to Cassandra, then when Rodney asks to dance a totally different song plays and they dance immediately.
Such a shame
He’s offered her half the winnings 😂
Dellboy green coat looks like the incredible hulk's little brother shit hot love it Mickey cracks me up 😆😆😆😆
Must be music copyrights, as new airings briefly overdub generic music before cutting to “and tonight’s lucky winner is...” as Love Goes Up And Down begins. Then later it cuts from 4:43 to 5:00, with a new soundtrack.
Yes a remember these scenes ...
does my nut in that they have been cut these days
The cut version looks ridiculous on Gold, it basically shows Rodney approach Cassandra then they go dancing,no chat whatsoever.
agreed
Why the fuck cut it

Why was it removed in the streamed version ? Was it music copyright or something ?
Well done for this

Thanks for your support
So... Let me get this right: this full uncut episode is only available on VHS and not DVD or Bluray?
How the heck did that happen?? Anyone know?
Yes thats the summary of it..due to issues with the copyright to the music used
@@OnlyFoolsHorses Thanks for confirming the facts. I find it absolutely- astounding, that the BBC should be so 'touchy' about having to pay copyright fees... Let's be honest, all of the songs featured, were made way back. Most, will hold many memories for fans of all ages who grew up with the show. Perhaps someone at the BBC, will see sense and cut a deal with the recording artists concerned? Personally, I think that the inclusion of the music, helps to enrichen the programme. Yes, some of the jokes and jabber, may not now be 'pc', but even back when the show was made, it was all said in good humor.
We live in a digital age now- I get that. And if all of the episodes are available to stream or download, uncut, on the net, then that's top drawer- lovely jubbly, but I suspect- like many of the fans, I'm of a vintage that treasures having a real physical copy.
I like the whole 'thing' about having a hard copy. The BBC are well placed to honour this show, and I pray they do. They could make a Bluray or UHD collecters set of this show, sparkle just as bright as the chandeliers the boys cleaned, and even package the lot in a box resembling one of Del's Chinese Video Recorders... But to anyone at the BBC who may read this, and is about to embark on the making of such a set- please make the Trotters proud, and please do not cut it up!
Cassandra ❤️❤️❤️
great scene but not ' missing' ! - watched it multiple times on my VHS
I said the same but the DVD edits are a joke.
sweet!
Oh yeah!
