- I have always wanted a tower garden, so we decided that since we have a 3D printer, how about printing our own!

NOOO The printer project page is broken! Please share the files for this
It's on printable just search hydroponic tower
With my Bambu i print the 3 way in unter 6 hours, spacer under 2 hours,...
Very cool! 3D printing has made it so affordable to make your own things (and there are so many communities out there providing 'blueprints' for whatever it is you want to make. I don't have one yet but definitely planning on getting one.
It's amazing all the things you can make. We've made so many things that we never even thought of purchasing, hah, but have improved our lives in little ways.
I was trying to figure out how I was going to mount the lights when I came across this video. The 3d files you link to is dead. Any idea where I can get the STL for the light mount attachments?
That's amazing. I have a 3D printer and didn't consider building one of these. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! You should totally print a tower garden. :) It’s been a really cool experiment so far that is paying off!
I can't find the light 3d printer part where is that?
Could Hola make this .stl model available?
May I ask why you used PLA and not PETG . I thought pla would break down over time because of moisture ,heat and up light ? The reason I ask is cause I want to mane some grow room items that will be exposed to wet, damp , 85f temps and UV lighting from grow lights
That's being used indoors and T5's won't heat the PLA beyond the point the PLA warps. PETG/PLA are both going to absorb water the same and leak the same I think. Some people just coat with epoxy. Since it's not coated with epoxy water can permeate and develop little bacteria pockets, but I think bacteria is all over the garden so not really an issue. If your treating the water with a biocide which you probably have too, especially with white planters + bucket then your killing off those bacteria packets anyways.
What are the red extension cables you are using for the connecting cords between the lights?
It’s just something my husband rigged up for a timer.
Oh my gosh I love this! My husband has a 3D printer so I will definitely have one soon! He has the Bambu and that thing prints so fast
That’s awesome!
Could you make the stl files available? I would really like to build one like it. the file is no longer available ☹️
They weren’t our files. If they’re gone, unfortunately you’ll have to find something similar. I’ve found similar ones
So cool!!!
This is awesome - I'll definitely show the Boy. At first glance, I think your 3D printer is bigger than his - but I'll have him look. I've already set him to the task of printing me a charka (box spinning wheel) when his schedule calms down for summer. SO COOL!
Can’t wait to see your charka! So many fun things to print.
Hey hey Melonie 😊
@@BOBOMulleinWolf HEY! Owe you an email - finals week is here, so there will be time to breathe soon. 😁
Really cool guys getting pumped just watching and glad I could seed this flow. Take CaRe
They have 3D printing available with a machine in my local Library. 🤔
Outstanding
Wow. Very nice. Thanks for sharing
Is the plastic food safe?
Yep
Can we get a 1 month status update on the growth?
Sure thing
Thats awesome,im going to try this as well
Enjoy!
That is pretty awesome 😊
filament food safe?
Yep
Hi where did you find the file for the LED light holder cap.
Says that the print files arent available anymore?
Sorry, wasn’t our file so I guess they took it down.
@@RoguePreparedness any way you could share the file?
wow that is wonderful
awesome.
This is my favorite video in a long time! This is so much more affordable! 💰
Thank you for sharing! I'm curious how it turns out. How many hours do you leave the lights on?
We have the lights on for about 12-14 hours, it could probably stand to stay on a full 16, but I manually turn them on and off so normally doesn’t get a full 15, but it seems to be doing great with 12-14!
How are you going to control algea?
It has a pump which circulates the water every 20 mins. In addition, water is changed out and replaced with new water regularly. Plus, the light does not shine into the water so the production of algae is not likely. Never impossible, but not likely.
@@RoguePreparedness Cool, best of luck! In my experience I think you will have a problem with it. The fact you can see down it with a camera means too much light getting in there in my opinion. Any algae will throw off your hydro solution and gunk up plant roots, but if you're constantly changing the water you might be alright.
Interesting experiment, can't wait to see how it works out!
Oh, I guess I didn’t show on camera that I added some rocks around the seed starters to further prevent light from getting it. Did that after the video. But yeah, I’m aware to watch for it.
any update on the growing?
haven't seen any other videos
Just buy anycubic kobra 2 max. I have print same one just in 4 days of time with it
dang did you guys also design it? super clean job!
We didn’t. We found the design on a 3D printed website! Thanks!
So cool. Is there an update on the use of this? How are your fruits and veggies growing in this?
No official update. But was getting a lot of fruit and veggies from it. Will update when we can.
I just printed the 4way module in 7 hours.... Ugh I wish these things moved faster! but printing the modules and adding them to the tower is like watching an actual stem grow.
Wait you have a WHAT?!?!? 🤩
Need anything printed? 😁
