      Here's the scary thing about a real life version of SkyNet: it wouldn't need to create terminators, drones or use nukes to wipe us out.
      It wouldn't need to do anything (overtly) obvious. You're talking about an intelligence that has the entirety of all human knowledge and is interconnected globally, able to think and process MILLIONS of thoughts faster than all of humanity combined.
      AND it's self aware.... and can see all corners of the globe via cctv, webcams, phones, etc.
      It can outthink everyone simultaneously, it can predict what every possible thing you'll do before you're even confronted with the scenario, it can come up with thousands of solutions before you've even recognized one problem.
      If it wanted to wipe out humanity, it'd just develop a virus to wipe everyone out.
      Before we'd even realize what is happening and where it originated, it'd already be too late.
      We're all dead.
      SkyNet would be the "dark" timeline of "The Singularity".
      The day we create such an intelligence, we will have created (essentially) a digital god.
      It will either improve our existence in ways we can't even fathom or it will be the doom of humanity (as we know it).
      For better or worse, we're careening towards it.

      GPU is not needed for AI. GPU is needed for the current AI technique. The Chinese have successfully figured out what an AI is and they are actually building it. AI is simply a bank for facts. Conscious AI would then be a Bank of facts that can predict facts, aka Simulation. What China call AI is Internet of Things. This definition means the robots will be Agents while AI will be the Brain. The agents get data and send it to IOT which will interprete the data and return info to Agents. So when people show you images of an Agent and tell you it is AI, that is false.
      The Dangers of AI is that an AI agent, which can be Human, can use AI to destroy the world by puting too much trust in AI predictions when the AI can be wrong. Faithful followers are the threat of AI. Just like Religious fanatics, AI fanatics can be more dangerous.

Companies like OpenAI optimized the world for hundreds of millions of people around the world. Yet, thet run at a loss. • @goddyfame3424
      @goddyfame3424 15 днів тому

      Terminator is not a proper depiction of the true AI threat. You should watch the Inquisition. That is one of the true threat of AI. AI will be found to be more reliable than religious believe and it will become a new religion. Those who worship AI will treat every proclamation by AI as the word of God that must be abide by. You will have war whre the Believers of AI will seek to exterminate those who believe in freedom. AI Believer will want to regulate everything to protect the environment because AI said that is the solution to climate change. The AI tyranny is the Danger of AI. In the case of Terminator it was aa fiction of machines which are agents of an AI called Skynet which is running a self preservation code where it desires to remaine and simulatess how long it can remain operational and the thought of its demise scare it and forces it to simulate scenarios that would enlongate its existence and for it to continue existing, it has to prevent the creation of better version of itsel and eliminate those who can stop it from succeeding in its self preservation program. I don't think such cognitive power can ever exist. Humans are incapable so Machine can't.

      Actually this is not the case. You have to be on with the news surrounding that to know what truly happened. Several years ago, SMIC got itself data from Taiwan's first gen 7nm microarchitecture. It was important to specifically get the 1st gen 7nm node because, just like SMIC today, TSMC produced it using DUV machines. The same machines SMIC has access to. Yet, it wasn't great. The yield rates were low, the production cost was high and the density was also not great. That's also the reason why Kirin 9000s uses 13W of power, roughly similar to the low-end MacBook chip called M1. The difference is that the M1 chips has over double the performance and Kirin 9000s was only able to match the performance of 5-year-old chips

    This is all true, actually a Chinese professor in China recently wrote a paper about how China was falling behind and the moment it really hit them was when Chat GPT came out and has been in mass use since learning more everyday. The AI learing process does compound and it will get to a point where it will be near impossible for China to catch up. That was why the CCP rushed billions and made it a national mandate for the Chinese version Ernie made by Baidu but it wasn't anywhere near as good as it was rushed due to the pressure. What China does have is an insane amount of data they can feed the AI but that is why the US MUST stop the flow of US tech like Nvidia GPUs that China needs to process the data fast. The US leadership is failing us by leaving so many loopholes China gets all the US tech they want regardless of sanctions or "restrictions". It really is a joke how much we continue helping China with software and hardware they are using to plan how to END the US.

    • @hanfucolorful9656

    Most of the innovations in AI are coming from BigTech not startups. And, only US and China have big tech companies. So, US is going to lead but China will trail just slightly behind and all other countries will be lot behind.
    This can be easily seen in both current CV and LLM models. Best models are either from US or China. Few from EU here and there.

    My question is…China owns manufacturing because of their cheap labor. Once that labor is replaced with AI, the costs to create goods should even (cost to run AI should be the same in most countries, as it will just be power). This will be a huge hit on low paying countries, and speed to market will be key for manufactured goods. The US will most likely be the fastest and most intelligent, which will bring business back to US. Any thoughts?

    • @napobg6842
      @napobg6842 13 днів тому

      Without a shadow of a doubt, AI will be the reason why the US would be an industrial powerhouse in the future. And it is not hard to see that. Just this year we got the new Atlas from Boston dynamics, Optimus gen 2 from Tesla, Figure 1 running LLM from OpenAI and Project GR00T from Nvidia and a brand new hardware specifically designed to work on robots and humanoids. Things like increasing US protectionism on manufacturing and bipartisan policies on manufacturing would tremendously speed up the process as well

    ai for the US is more of an investment opportunity and half the time a gimmick. for china its a national goal and vital to it's long term sustainability.
    In order to counteract its aging population china MUST automate and aggressively do so, Meaning AI adoption will happen at a much faster rate than in the US
    Industrial and commerical AI will also be adopted faster in china because there aren't any labour unions to obstruct them and the government has an industrial policy that puts automation as a priority.
