I don't know if i'll ever be able to afford a scope like this, whether i really will ever need to based on skill level, or if i'll even want to based on my interests in the future. But i know that i am interested in buying scopes that i can afford. This video and channel is demystifying scopes and their nuance which is what helps me understand what i want/need to buy. Reviewing this scope, regardless of price, is still helpful and enlightening to that end. So don't feel like you're doing a disservice at all, my reason for watching your channel is because you do the best job i've seen in reviewing scopes and explaining their function and providing the terminology to explain the performance. I can now put to words what i'm seeing through scopes, whereas before, i was just sort of staring not even know what i was seeing.
You honor me. Thank you. I want to give every scope the same level of indepth review as I can. And even if you mute my videos. One should still be able to get a idea of how it would stack up against other scopes. I go from this scope. To a $300 scope for my next release. I love being able to cover all of the bases. Because I know there are so many out there that can't afford only premium stuff. Which is something I can absolutely understand.
Awesome review, only question is when is the S&B 3-20 US review? cause I am in the market and would like to see your breakdown. Thanks for all the vids one of my favorite channels by far
Thank you for the kind words. I was less than impressed with the chromatic aberration when I got to peak through a ultra short awhile ago. I heard the s&B's are all about their internal construction. Not just their glass. Time spent behind one would be needed to determine more.
Thank you for giving us a feature length review on this well deserving optic. I got the opportunity to buy one of these used for an excellent price. Honestly, after a lot of use, I would pay full MSRP for another.
Absolutely thrilled that these higher magnification optics are an option, but honestly, I find the 2-15, 2-12, 3-15, 3-18 optics to be far more usable. Even the high end US optics line, I find that that wide of a range of magnification, the same problem we find with a 1-10 lpvo, or even a 1-8 seems to be present. Either the low end isn't usable due to being too fine, or the high end of the magnification isn't usable due to the reticle getting too fat, and the eye box getting too tight. I suppose unless you're willing to sacrifice the first focal plane, then you can eliminate the fatness, or thinness of the reticle with a second focal plane variant. Awesome review as always brother. God bless you and yours.
Try the Z8i Swaro 2FP range... there are NONE of those real painful issues you speak of about other US (some from Japan, forget about Chinese crap) brands.
I took find the lower mpvo's to be the sweet spot. And you are correct. Finding the balance between reticle scaling and magnification range is challenging even in the best of times.
@@CDOES agreed. And besides, it's fun to go some place special and shoot beyond 1000 yards. But if I'm being totally honest, I really don't have a need to be able to shoot past a max of 600. Where I'm located in VA, you would be hard pressed to find an area where you can see past 600 yards, and I have found that the mpvos absolutely get it done. And, they are lighter, and in most cases cheaper, but every bit as robust and reliable.... Ounces equal pounds and pounds equal death.
I can't afford this. I'm letting you know for the algorithm ;) but on a serious note, I love any of your reviews regardless if I can afford the optic or not! I just love all the info and I like to see where that extra money went! Keep up the awesome work man

I adore my Razor HD Gen2 3-18, which now has scratches all over it from falling over onto cement and rocks and damn near everything else; has hardly any chromatic aberration which is what distracts my eye, but this thing had nothing.
If vortex would have made the razor gen3 turrets just like the tangent theta’s… I would have already bought one. I hate push pull style locking turrets. The theta is still on my bucket list but unfortunately I have at least another year of saving up to get it. Thank you for the awesome review!
I have a 2 s&b pm2’s, 4 nightforce atacrs, leupold mk 5, 6, and 8, minox zp5, kahles, steiner m5, a zco 5-27x56 and my zco was my favorite scope.. then I got my hands on a tangent theta 5-25x56.. its not just a little but better than the zco and all my other high end optics… it’s astonishingly better than all my other optics and its crazy to me how its literally in its own class. I move it exclusively around my rifles based on what competition I am shooting month to month. I really can’t describe how much better it is, it’s something you just have to see for yourself and utilize. The glass, the turrets, literally everything.
I'd also love to see a review done on the Mavin RS1.2 2.5-15x44. Focus Tripp did a review on it and was very positive, but he doesn't go into depth the way you do. I'd love to see how it compares to others in that range. I hope one comes across your table sometime soon.

A dream scope, but costs about 6000€(6600$) here, almost twice the price of a ZCO. Going to try get my hands on the 7-35, seems to be out of stock all the time though...
Could you do a review of the Scmidt & Bender 3-20 PM II Ultra Short scope? It’s on the same spectrum of scopes as the one you did in this video. Now because of your video, I’m considering the TT 3-15x.
From what I read the non-ultrashort version is actually one of schmidt's absolute top scopes in all optical ways. Because being short makes eyeboxes tighter and depth of field shorter. That said the ultrashort version is probably still a dope scope. I personally find the ffp reticles absolutely useless in high mag range scopes above 4x on ALL the top brands because on the low end they become invisible. For that reason my favorite scopes I'm interested in are the S&B ultrashort 5-20x50 and the new S&B 6-36×56. I really wanted the 3-20×50 non-ultrashort but the reticles get too thin on the low end below 5x anyways
This is hands down the nicest scope I have ever seen or touched. I asked the guy at my local camera/optics store to see it but told him I had no intention of buying it...he got all giddy and said 'Oh man you HAVE to see this" and went and got it. (I think he wanted to play with it too) He gave me a quick "you drop it you bought it" speech and outside we went. My exact words were..."F*CK ME!" The glass and turrets are basically unbeatable. Stellar in every way. As always, great review.
Great review. Just want turn up the contrast on your vehicle comparison. A Rolls-Royce or Maybach Mercedes-Benz are hugely expensive vehicles in which the finest materials and skilled craftsman are used to produce a perfect product. Like this scope this is the recipe for perfection. No consideration is given concerning cost. On other hand there is a choice to go with excellence which is seeking optimal performance with a jaundice eye towards cost. Lexus produces an exceptional vehicle that will outperform the more expensive brands in terms of quality. I suspect that there are a lot of excellent options out there that meet the standard of delivering an excellent product at a fair price. That is why I watch this channel to see how far I can stretch my budget to get the most bang for the buck!
Very valid point. After awhile some people find what works best for them and goes with it. Someone's a Lexus is all a potential rolls owner really needs and wants. Even if he can buy whatever under the sun.
This is awesome! I mounted a used 3-15 TT on my 7 prc last week. Only had to the range once but i zero’d and shot to 1350yds in 17 rounds on a brand new gun and scope with the help of a Garmin xero.
Mine is the mildot. This is my NA big game gun. It works great at low mag. The illum has the same problem as you were saying with not daylight bright but perfect in twilight hours. I was taken back by how clear it was out to a mile. In general, i run MK5s and NF ATACRs but i found this one on a deal for about the same price as an ATACR so i figured why not.
I have TT ZCO MinoxZP5 owned SB pmii, and I ve used these scopes for years. Long story short, I will stick with TT. The glass is the best, it’s actually better than zp5 in terms of sharpness. Hey C_DOES! You need to take a look at the Monstrum Pro Series 7075 Aluminum Scope Mount. It's $40 MSRP, cheaper on sale, it 7075, comes in 1", 30mm, and 34mm.
