I want Coroner, Ven Buens Ende... and Electric Wizard back.
I'd love to see Dan Swano revive one of his projects (edge of sanity, nightingale or witherscape). The dude has a super versatile discography but hasnt released anything since a live nightingale album in 2017.
I'd also love to see a band called Novembre come back. Theyre an italian progressive death/doom metal band and they've not released anything since 2016. They still play the odd live show here and there but theyre pretty quiet nowadays.
I would be glad to hear something new from Coroner, Living Death, Ven Buens Ende and Virus (Norway)

I like Pantera, they helped me to grieve my father’s death in 03. Never condoned any of the stuff Phil said or the confed flag. I happen to like what Phil does in Down more so. This Pantera celebration is throwing a wrench into Down haha.

Discordance Axis. I know we have some of the members in Gridlink, and that scratches a similar itch, but it would still be cool.
Also Psyopus. They’re one of my favorite mathcore bands; their music was so abrasive and wacky and jarring, especially Our Puzzling Encounters Considered.

Anata of Sweden. One of my faves from the early/mid 2000s. Their last album was The Conductor's Departure from 2006. This band is also a favorite of Dave Davidson. Check em out if you haven't.

The Sword is the number 1 band I want to see back. They mined the depths of possible riffs pretty deep but I believe they have more to offer!

One of my reunion (per say) ideas would involve bringing Dave Brokie aka Oderus Urungus back to life and get the classic GWAR back.
I like how most of these bands you want to come back are all underground. It's always with the mainstream bands that feel like a cash grab or their come back feels like cringe. Especially, since they get the most press and it sounds as if the band members are all not on the same page.

I cannot repeat that enough times. I never got to see them live.
I would've loved to see FNM return back to the stage as they're one of my favourite bands and the character of Mike Patton does make their live shows animated and engaging. I would've liked to see Isis to reunite as their sludge metal giants as well. Acid Bath would've been another pick, but they broke up and payed respect to their bassist.
I feel like Isis would need to continue under a different name (for obvious reasons) but yeah, it'd be cool to see them pop up again.
Some bands I’d LOVEEE to hear make a return are
- As Blood Runs Black (no explanation needed)
- Imperial Circus Dead Decadence (I believe they still play live some times and they released an album a couple years ago but I NEEED MOREE their brand of symphonic death and power metal was so fucking dope)
- Hollow Prophet (which I know they are basically a super group and all the members are busy but I NEED NEW MATERIAL)
- Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship (I know they are still playing live and they released a new single recently but I am greedy and I need more)
- Infant Annihilator (I believed they announced they were making shit a couple years ago but have been radio silent since)
- Black Tongue (besides announcing some merch drops here and their they’ve pretty much been radio silent since nadir)
Also side note the volume levels of the background music felt a little high and there were some moments I felt the songs muffled your voice
i thought yaldabaoth was inteded to be ia's last album, and tbh they don't rlly need to make more it's a nice little trilogy that gets better with every album

But most of all, I desperately want Estradasphere to come back; that band had some of the most awesome musicians ever! They were like Mr. Bungle, but perhaps even MORE adventurous musically; they could play ANYTHING! 👌

Holy Grail is up there for me. Three solid albums of modern trad metal then they went radio silent for almost a decade. Bummer.

According to Metallum, 3 Inches Of Blood have resumed their activities as of 2023 and while i haven't heard anything else, i really hope that is the case because they were the most unique Power Metal group of the 00's.
they've done a few shows in the summer but its unclear if this is a one-off or a permanent thing. Here's hoping the latter...

- Luca Turilli's Rhapsody (the best Rhapsody spin-off, they're the MCU of bands at this point)
- Sepultera (we need the TRUE lineup, Igor, Max, and Andreas back together wjth whatever drummer they pull in, it'll slap)
- Edguy (power metal cheese!)
- Pride & Glory (southern rock and I MISS IT)
- Slayer (because that last album was so stock generic and they cannot end on that...)
I would've loved to see Necrophagia reunite and do another album but I know that'll never happen now that Killjoy (RIP) is sadly no longer with us 😢. Could you imagine a tour or a Halloween show with Necrophagia, Deceased and Acid Witch? Maybe thrown in Autopsy for good measure? That'd be SICK
Yeah, the Sword definitely need to get back together and give us some new music. Can’t believe it’s only been 2 years since they went on hiatus. Feels like forever! And, yeah it would be great to get a completely new GnR LP. It would be a crying shame if Chinese Democracy was their very last album.
I'd love for the mighty Cursed from Canada to return. Gutted I didn't catch them when they were going and they were up there with my favourite bands back when they were active (still are one of my favourites). They won't re-unite though, pretty sure Chris Colohan said they all hated each other. Also I absolutely love AnB.
I need Vital Remains with Dave Suzuki like a shot of morphine. Love the death metal riffs but also the unbelievably melodic guitar is so good. I need more…

Personally, I would love to see Sybreed or The Human Abstract reunite.
Sybreed was one of the best industrial/cyber/death/proto-djent bands, way ahead of their time. The 2004 album, Slave Design sounds like it could come out today and still sound fresh, the production is stellar. The members still work on projects together, so I feel like it'd be possible to get some new Sybreed eventually.
The Human Abstract was a progressive metalcore band with heavy classical influences, especially in their third album, Digital Veil. I feel like their sound was just getting started, but between the vocalist changes and the main guitarist/composer getting bored of writing metal, the band broke up in 2013. It's a real shame, because classical music and metal combined is a banger combination, and I feel like the progressive metalcore scene needs a bit of that creativity again.
