@@dls1960 The only time I ever found loading times to be ridiculously long is when I choose random stages in versus mode, And that's because it loads up *_all_* the stages, so that whenever I hit rematch, it switches stages seamlessly
Skullgirls has been one of the Indie games I want to be ported to Switch, sure it has been pretty late but I am glad it is on Switch. And oh of course the lacking voice acting in cut scenes, Skybound said they already aware of the issue and they will solve it by releasing patch in later date.
@@esmooth919 I'd be fine with the joycons if there was an actual dpad. I can only really play fighting games with an arcade stick or a dpad. Pro controller dpad sucks as well.
@@tenthirtyseven-v1 I agree with you on the procon d-pad...especially the placement, but I can play FighterZ with the "d-pad" on the joycons with little to no issue. The only game that was hard to get used to, due to the lag on that particular port, was Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
Skullgirls is amazing. But boy the framerate is incosistent in this port. I'm not blaming the Switch on this one, for Skullgirls is a highly optimized game and the Switch a powerful console. Skybound just screwed up.
Guys unless ur into the millisecond of when your input gets registered these comments arnt really for you. If you look at this comment and go i never noticed then this comment is not for you. These comments are for the hardcore fighting fans that play ever fighting game under the sun and are so tuned in they can see the lag on screen where most of us dont notice. Just like people who are hardcore racing fans pull off the most sick shit in the games. If you a hardcore gamer its still different. Hard core gamers like me are a jack of all trades. You can hand us a controller to any game and we will figure out how to get good enough to beat it in a short time. This is a big reason why games can feel none organic to you and i dont really knock controls unless they make no sense for the game im playing. One of the reasons i hate nintendo controls is cause they are diff enough from every other controller on market it makes everything feel none organic at fist. Same goes for wifi connections or genre of video game they all are subject to the type of game or genre your playing. Ps. Wrote this shortly after waking up so sry for crappy typing if there is any
Does the frame rate negatively differ on the Switch version from its rival counterparts? The Switch is not the best for ports, so I want to make sure before I buy it.
If you did not preorder the limited edition, then yeah it is digital only. Heck even the physical version Sky bound said it will arrive six weeks after the limited edition is sent.
I mean he really only gave spoilers to franchise. So if you havnt really followed the franchise or i think they have an anime now too, then why are you watching a video about like the 3rd game in the series. I only say that cause i think there were lik 1 or 2 handheld games that came out and i know know there is a mobile game. Cause when i first started seeing skullgirls at all it was on mobile then pc then console. Not saying this is the order they came out just the order i found it in. I sure hope the issue is resolved on the physical release. Gonna be pissed if I have to download the voices.
@@GrantMortenson that's what I had hope too, but in reality it is a bit unlikely. Otherwise they might have to delay the physical version again.
@Fearless Feedle lol I know I've play it already on Steam and Switch, but I'm still waiting for that physical version.
I just noticed today this game is listed at GameStop physically as an “GameStop exclusive,” if you are still waiting to get it?
It's unfortunate it's been basically cancelled for Xbox One, but at least it's a pretty decent switch port. Just gotta get another arcade stick now.
I'd like to try this game with an arcade stick, but I'm perfectly fine with my joycons. LOL

And ps4 sorry xbox
I played skullgirls and gotta say I enjoyed it skullgirls is a love letter to fighting game fans
I didn't know the composer of castlevania did the music for this game for some reason that makes me enjoy the game more
Great game unfortunately I can’t find online games 😭
Tell me about it
Lik online matches?
I love EVERY game on the LabZero engine.
But the game do have story mode voice acting, did they not put it on switch?
they put a update for the switch port. Theres voices now on story mode and the voice repeat looks like its been taken care of.
Thing is, all you need to have a 4/5 fighting game is great gameplay and a passable netcode. The rest are just the m&m's on top of the icecream.
I had no idea the music was by Michiru Yamane!
Do i need a nintendo switch online subscription to play it online ?
Yes

You should never play online fighting games on Wifi, ever.
EVAR!
It’s terrible
@Charles Wolfanger those ports suck on WiFi, too... Not to mention the input lag. That's why I sold it
I do
