Ed Boon is the goat 🐐🐐🐐. I grew up with this franchise, been playing the games since the arcades were around. I even had the VHS of the animated movie. 💯🔥🎯 Give him his flowers now while he is still here. 🌹💐 MK is iconic and will forever be remembered as one of the greatest fighting game series of all time. From Pinball, to Midway, to Netherrealm, Ed Boon has been through it all, and still continues to make games for us. 👏
I don't know IF I would go that far to say GOAT.....In 2022 they still can't launch a game that doesn't have online and balancing issues for the first month or so at launch.....The Krypt was also a pretty garbage idea in MK11, especially since it was random generated.

I remember being 13 playing the original in the arcade. MKII when that was out I was in the arcade for hours on hours watching people and playing against others. I have owned every full fighting game released for the MK series to this date. Cant wait for the next one but MKII is still my favorite and would love an HD remake of the Original trilogy

The idea of the original Mortal Kombat animation is genial to this day in all fighting games genre. That is why the success. As a child I thought I was running a real human on the screen.
Not a huge NRS player, but I love Ed, he shows up. Since the revival (NRS), you'll consistently see Ed and other NRS folks at most all major MK events. There's a reason for their consistency, and I think it's due to never fully stepping out of the "arcade", they've always got a foot in, and understand the scene.
That was great. I really enjoyed the interview. I sorta remember the first one in the arcades. I remember people would play other people with their quarters. With the loser leaving, and another one take's their place. But I really remember getting it for the SNES. I'd take the system over to a buddies dorm room and a group of us would play it on this tiny 13" TV. Fast forward to today, and my wife loves playing MK11 on our 65" TV. She also plays the phone version. I learned today that Ed Boon is Latino. Please do more of these.

I remember the first time my friend brought his super nes to our community back in Christmas of 1994, two years after the first MK game was released. He only had MK1 then even though MKII was just released back in September of 94' when he put in the MK cartridge and we started playing, I was instantly hooked. I played all the characters and liked how Rayden and Sub-Zero played, but it was Scorpion's backstory, move set...especially his teleport that enabled me to escape incoming projectiles and his iconic "GET OVER HERE" that made him my favorite all-time character. Sub-Zero had the best fatality but Scorpion was just a badass throughout. The MK universe is forever and that includes the games!

I've loved Mortal Kombat since i was a kid, me and my dad beat the first one with sub zero when i was little. I remember going to the live show as a kid, and the movie was one of my favorites.
RIP G4. You had the chance to truly rejoin the world of video games but you sadly allowed individuals to use your platform to share their individual ideas that burned the relationship you were trying to grow. It always should have been focused on the games and only the games. That is what was supposed to be. There should have been a real push to cover eSports. NOT as a quirky weird show but as a serious coverage show of eSports hosting events and streaming major tournaments. Attack of the show was a staple and it was definitely a shining light in this hot mess. X play got robbed of its dignity when again, "single individuals" put their thoughts over the program. Again, I miss you and I truly wish it was treated right. A tragic loss.

this guy stated at the beginning how excited he was. but never once brought up a specific title after MK2 other than naming numbers like 11. never even mentioned how many newer MK games had puzzle fighter clones. action rpg. Mario Kart clones etc
That's all fine and dandy but having absolutely nothing for the 30-th anniversary is pure insult for all the fans and for all of Ed's work. That 1.30 min advert/teaser was just a bad wet fart. It's ridiculous that I have to keep my PS3 to being able to play the old trilogy that isn't even longer availabale to buy. Shame on you.

That's all fine and dandy but having absolutely nothing for the 30-th anniversary is pure insult for all the fans and for all of Ed's work. That 1.30 min advert/teaser was just a bad wet fart. Darker sf??? They are 2 different games completely. So I take it castlevania is just a darker Mario game base off your take bc there both platformers.
Castlevania is a darker Metroid. Their similarity is why people use the term Metroidvania.
