Ok, so hear me out about Erron Black: I always enjoyed the eclectic nature of the Mortal Kombat roster, Ninjas, Robots, Special Forces, Cops, Hollywood Celebs, Kung Fu masters, Native American Shaman, and monsters of all shapes and sizes. I thought that having a Cowboy character was a perfect fit to the weird collection of MK characters which is why I want him to come back.
Honestly at this point I would say Johnny Cage has busted into top tier essential character, especially since mkx moving forward. He's the primo comic relief and all around feel good character that still has an interesting place in the roster

Kano is THAT low? I mean if you put Jax and Sonya into very important I think Kano should be at least in big deals bcz he is the antagonist of both. They point that clearly out in the dialogues of MK11 and MKX before the fight. So Kano should be not missed out when you put Sonya and Jax into the game imo. And Shujinko that high? I've expected him in Mid or Unpopular bcz I know very less people who likes him and he didn't play a big role. Or did I miss out a rage of fans in one game where Shujinko is not included (like in the case of Mileena missing out in MK11 main roster)?
Let me put it like this without sub zero there's no scorpion going on a mission for revenge. That's what makes him so popular and then sub zero well a lot of people sympathise because we'll he was essentially framed and killed which as well as featuring in the main game. The divide of popularity is pretty evenly split. But they are definitely two characters that grab a lot of the attention from the MK community and without these both or 1 of them being in the game a lot of people wouldn't pick it up. People who have never played the game it self will know who the fuck scorpion and or sub zero are
A bit shocked seeing Motaro as unpopular. I always thought he looked cool and menacing. I assume his unpopularity may stem from the fact that he cannot be fully realized in a 3D engine due to him being a quadrupedal character (unique skeleton, movement, fatality & brutality interactions, and everything just for 1 character). Basically he stopped being relevant because he stopped taking part in the story. I would still love to see him as a sub-boss once again though. p.s. we don't talk about Armageddon Motaro ;)
When I first played Mortal Kombat at a friend's house, Kira, Hsu Hao, and of course Subzero were my 3 favorite characters. Granted, after learning about the story, I learned to appreciate the characters that actually matter, but I'll probably always have a soft spot for Kira and Hsu Hao regardless.

In my honest opinion, if you rank Jax & Sonya in very important - then Kano needs to be there. He's like, their bad guy. The Black Dragon has, for the most part, been a main thing that Sonya always worries about showing up with Kano at the fore-front. I am absolutely biased as Kano is my favourite character, I just think if Sonya & Jax are in the game - so should Kano.
Pretty much all my favorite characters are ranked mid or below on your lost. Cetrion is definitely a character with potential in the new era. The D'Vorah hate is way overblown: she at least did something as a villain. If she did nothing, then people would complain about that. Frost was pretty fun in MK11, probably the only character that I didn't mind being similar to another,namely Sub Zero. I hope she also comes back.

Her entire character changed is reasonable cuz this is Liu Kang's era. But for Shang Tsung's era? Bruh she's just a female brute. The writers literally could have made Tanya from Shang Tsung's timeline a spy halfway into the story of MK1.

He's a perfect addition to the roster. I would really like to see more guest characters from other video game franchises. I'm hoping the Doomslayer rumors are true, I'd love to see characters like the Bloodborne Hunter, the Dragonborne, any of the Assassin's Creed protagonists, Virgil, even something way out there like Ganondorf. I was beyond excited when Quan Chi killed Liu Kang, I thought my wish that he'd never come back had finally come true, but alas... He's constantly showing his obnoxious self righteous face.
I’d honestly argue that Johnny, Kitana and Sonya are also “Most Important.” They all play incredibly important roles in practically all of the games. Kitana is often times more important than Shao when it comes to Outworld royalty as seen in MK1. Johnny and Sonya on the other hand are a dynamic duo, and although we could live without Sonya, we can’t live without Johnny, enough said.
I personally would love to see all the Black Dragon characters make a return, imagine a DLC with Kobra, Kira, Kabal, Kano, Jarek, and Kai but overhaul the unpopular characters and give them more identity. Make the focus of the story shift towards the power struggle with the Black and Red Dragon gangs, they'd have to somehow be tied into something bigger though.
i admire the respect for shujinko, i still remember how i was playing mk unchained on a PSP and was doing konquest with that character, he was getting alot of moves from other characters and you could still keep the moves on him outside of konquest and do tower and stuff. I miss those times.
So true about Kotal Kahn. The majority of the fans love him but the writers give him such cool moves and the ship with Jade was a good move too. But the writers always disrespect him. If there was an Outworld only game, Kotal should be the protagonist
i love d'vorah's concept: a kytinn that builds relationships with outworlders, acting as an envoy that only moves if it contributes to the hive's safety and thrivingness. that nature is so interesting and the fact that she is the only playable kytinn, a whole different species, opens windows for her move set to be as unique and astonishing as it is. i truly believe d'vorah should get more love, even though she got my favourite character, mileena, killed on the previous timeline 😭.
Let's talk about Jacqui for a moment, the concept of children of memorable characters is an awesome concept and I think they've really done a good job with her, her relationship with her father and her love interest Takeda, I don't think she's as memorable as Takeda and Cassie, but she should be in the same tier with Kung Jin, I think she's just as if not even more memorable than Kung Jin.

I love havik. I played him ton in every mk game he's in. Im hoping for mk comeback. Ill def play content comes out but fear support will end faster with the current health of game. Ive played all 3 seasons outside of half dozen fights after season boss.
Armageddon on the wii was my first game, so Taven has a place in my heart even though he is generic, I think he could be done well, it would be cool to see him as a kameo at the least.

Unlike others, I like Cetrion's character, and I think she had the potential to make an awesome comeback
I am also a fan of Cetrion. The devs def did her dirty by just making her Kronika’s puppet, and Kronika should’ve been in the remove category cuz GOSH SHE’S TERRIBLE

Jason can have anyone else's slot in the roaster, I'd like to see a revised version of him in another mk game as a guest character.
I like having guest characters as never return, with one exception. Kratos man, bring him back! I missed out on him the first time around when I played mk9 on xbox360. He's a perfect addition to the roster. I would really like to see more guest characters from other video game franchises. I'm hoping the Doomslayer rumors are true, I'd love to see characters like the Bloodborne Hunter, the Dragonborne, any of the Assassin's Creed protagonists, Virgil, even something way out there like Ganondorf. Id be all over that.
Kano should be A-tier tho. All original characters should be S or A.

I’d honestly argue that Johnny, Kitana and Sonya are also “Most Important.” They all play incredibly important roles in practically all of the games. Kitana is often times more important than Shao when it comes to Outworld royalty as seen in MK1. Johnny and Sonya on the other hand are a dynamic duo, and although we could live without Sonya, we can’t live without Johnny, enough said.

I personally would love to see all the Black Dragon characters make a return, imagine a DLC with Kobra, Kira, Kabal, Kano, Jarek, and Kai but overhaul the unpopular characters and give them more identity. Make the focus of the story shift towards the power struggle with the Black and Red Dragon gangs, they'd have to somehow be tied into something bigger though.

i admire the respect for shujinko, i still remember how i was playing mk unchained on a PSP and was doing konquest with that character, he was getting alot of moves from other characters and you could still keep the moves on him outside of konquest and do tower and stuff. I miss those times.
So true about Kotal Kahn. The majority of the fans love him but the writers give him such cool moves and the ship with Jade was a good move too. But the writers always disrespect him. If there was an Outworld only game, Kotal should be the protagonist

i love d'vorah's concept: a kytinn that builds relationships with outworlders, acting as an envoy that only moves if it contributes to the hive's safety and thrivingness. that nature is so interesting and the fact that she is the only playable kytinn, a whole different species, opens windows for her move set to be as unique and astonishing as it is. i truly believe d'vorah should get more love, even though she got my favourite character, mileena, killed on the previous timeline 😭.
Let's talk about Jacqui for a moment, the concept of children of memorable characters is an awesome concept and I think they've really done a good job with her, her relationship with her father and her love interest Takeda, I don't think she's as memorable as Takeda and Cassie, but she should be in the same tier with Kung Jin, I think she's just as if not even more memorable than Kung Jin.

I love havik. I played him ton in every mk game he's in. Im hoping for mk comeback. Ill def play content comes out but fear support will end faster with the current health of game. Ive played all 3 seasons outside of half dozen fights after season boss.

Armageddon on the wii was my first game, so Taven has a place in my heart even though he is generic, I think he could be done well, it would be cool to see him as a kameo at the least.

We all played that character when we were young and loved the dashing flaming punches special move and his fight style and sword and he has a great backstory that could turn amazing if they put a little bit effort into it in the new timeline i really wish to see him again as a playable character
