Regardless if it happened during the elephant's stay there its on the zookeepers for not helping her. Even if it happened before they got her its still on them for not noticing.
Respectfully, I think the zoo-vets have missed the main point. It’s not the infection in the tusks that’s the concern, it’s their REMOVAL. Elephants tusks are not like a cow’s horns, they are part of the elephant’s head with tissue running through them. Zoos removal of them for ‘safety’ is like removing a human’s jaw to stop them biting; it is an HORRIFIC process and intensely cruel. Aside from the extreme cruelty of ripping African elephants from the wild and putting them in cages in cities on the other side of the world (which zoo vets presumably don’t mind) the horror of tusk removal is a crime needing URGENT PROSECUTION, if only to DISSUADE OTHER ZOOS FROM DOING THE SAME. Zoos around the world CONTINUE to cause baby elephants, chimps and other animals here in Africa to be ripped by force from their parents so they can profit from their display. If you’re reading this, PLEASE don’t visit zoos.
That was my first thought, too. They are broken off way too deeply, which makes me suspicious they were "broken" by some unnatural means (meaning: human). Animals in the wild do occasionally break a tusk while digging or pushing down trees, but that usually leaves a stub showing that grows to a tusk of size again.
So wrong that these magnificent animals are confined, especially in noisy city zoos. They should go to wildlife parks and be relatively free the rest of their lives. They deserve better than this. But thanks to Four Paws their lives are improved.
These "authorities" just like in Sudan do not care one ounce about these animals. Then an organisation steps in to help, and at once it is all rules and regulations, courts and "no". Just showing off their power. 🤮

How Pakistan can do that to a living creature is beyond what the teachings of Islam teach us... I hope these eles can be rescued 🙏🙏🙏
All creatures great and small belong to God, humans have been charged with their care. They need to be treated with respect as such. Gen 1:25 And God went on to make the wild animals of the earth according to their kinds and the domestic animals according to their kinds and all the creeping animals of the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
@@PLS.54 And later on God spent a long time giving detailed instructions on slaughtering and dismembering various animals to please him. Please leave God out of it.
@@pearlbonnie1369 You can’t leave God out of it if your talking about His creation or mandates. Instructions given *by God* for appropriate preparation of animal sacrifices that were burned on the altar, were a total offering *to God.* And as for eating meat, God said Genesis 9:3-4 - New Century Version (NCV) 3 “Everything that moves, everything that is alive, is yours for food. Earlier I gave you the green plants, but now I give you everything for food. 4 But you must not eat meat that still has blood in it, because blood gives life. I believe the commenter meant only as a form of expression, “thank God” to express their gratitude for Dr Khalil and others in helping the elephants.
@@PLS.54 You said that all animals should be treated with respect. You think slaughtering them and dismembering them and burning them is treating them with respect? I'm not talking about God's creation or mandates. I'm discussing the beliefs some people have about God.
I would suspect the two females missing their trunks, both at the same zoo were not broken but cut off badly. And the woman at the end says with proper care and food they could live a long time......under those conditions it is sad to imagine a long life like that.
An African elephant in the wild walks at least hundred miles a week, caging them, even in a large padock is unreasonable. Do these "professionals" have any idea of the normal life of elephants? African elephants can be like hyper-intelligent dogs, they learn much faster and enjoy gaining new abilities.

These "authorities" just like in Sudan do not care one ounce about these animals. Then an organisation steps in to help, and at once it is all rules and regulations, courts and "no". Just showing off their power. 🤮
@@EdurtreG there all a bunch of jerks. They need to be chained and abuse then they will know how it feels

Shame upon you Tanzania for trafficking innocent animals to people that can't even treat fellow humans equally, simply because of money!
Just get them out of there!!!!!!!
Is it Sonua now?
No elephant should be in a zoo. There is no excuse.
Thank God that these Elephants plight has been brought to light....I so despaired for them. I did message Dr Khalil soon after Kaavan was rescued and asked him to help the Karachi Elephants too if he possibly could. I'm so relieved they went back to Pakistan to offer their recommendations. How Pakistan can do that to a living creature is beyond what the teachings of Islam teach us...
I hope these eles can be rescued 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks should go to the people. The Lord had nothing to do with it.

You can’t leave God out of it if your talking about His creation or mandates.
Instructions given *by God* for appropriate preparation of animal sacrifices that were burned on the altar, were a total offering *to God.*
And as for eating meat, God said
Genesis 9:3-4 - New Century Version (NCV)
3 “Everything that moves, everything that is alive, is yours for food.

African elephants in Pakistan, how sad for them.
SOS need take care of them! Don’t allow regular people so terrible with these elephants go through stresses!
How did they aquire African elephants?
I would suspect the two females missing their trunks, both at the same zoo were not broken but cut off badly. And the woman at the end says with proper care and food they could live a long time......under those conditions it is sad to imagine a long life like that.
Whose doing the surgery on the elephants? Seems like it should have been done immediately and without a report being done first. Poor elephants.
🐾
How the hell did he lose one tusk?!😱
Unfair
An African elephant in the wild walks at least hundred miles a week, caging them, even in a large padock is unreasonable.
Do these "professionals" have any idea of the normal life of elephants?
African elephants can be like hyper-intelligent dogs, they learn much faster and enjoy gaining new abilities.
can they be transferred to the wild
They need to be removed and taken to a santuary. They need to be free.
Oh my gosh, why were the tusk missing and infected? Poor thing.
So cliché it will sound blazé - THANK YOU.
