I have experimented with similar stuff, but on a much smaller scale. I have noticed the same. What sucks is that when they kill your sales, it usually takes another 4 or 5 days, sometimes a full week, just to get back to a somewhat normal. It really is BS.
My last week was pretty solid, feeling like old eBay if you will. Everyone one says this or that about the economy and what we sell, in all reality a lot of what goes on is algorithm and sever based. It's human nature for people to buy things. People come to eBay for deals. Hopefully 'old eBay' comes back and stays for awhile. I would love a big 4th quarter this year 😁👍💸

James, I follow a seller who does primarily book media. He made Amazon his main focus less than 6 months ago & is already at 10K months. His plan is to expand into disc media there. He still operates the eBay store but its really just running in the background.
You are not alone. I had some great sales and now dead Busier on Poshmark and Mercari Thank goodness I am cross listing. No seller fees on Mercari right now! I think people are busy with the Eclipse and traveling to see it. This job is a roller coaster for sure and it really happens this time of year.
I'm in Mentor, Ohio. 98% in line with the absolute middle. I'm with James. Apr 1-4 $400-450 each day, the 5th $87. The 6th $680. As long as I average $1500 a week net payout, I'm good.
Have you zoomed out a bit and looked at bi-weekly or monthly sales? Even from my small store, I have good days and awful days but when it comes down to it, I seem to be holding steady at my usual monthly totals🤷♂️
This is day number 7 of one sale. Been getting one sale per day. Running coupon, running store wide sale, even did promoted at suggested rate with a top, did end sell similar and nothing! All red arrows in the seller hub. Down 25% or more in each catagory. And the absolute joke is that with everything down in red i got a increase in external. I dont know whether to laugh or cry. I too do this as full time.
Please know it’s not just you. I went 7 days with one sale only for that whole week! Then the weekend comes and nothing. Where before that timeline it was rocking along with all kinds of sales daily. I have had all kinds of issues of major glitches with just trying to enter info for listings…..most issues have been fixed, but now 2 new ones occurring. It’s just never ending with IT program glitches.

Ebay is throttling servers, as definitely NOT NORMAL for these zero sales or one sale here and there. We has one sale a week ago! This is tax season and refunds are coming to people. Last year this time first quarter was booming. Most likely all those employees that Ebay fired, they now don't have enough people to monitor the servers. This is getting very bad for many of us. Yes, we have items that have very good sales conversions and list plus refresh listings daily. Uugh so painful. We need to Form a union or a blast complaint.
I had a $1,000 day on Thursday and Saturday,...and then 6 sales on Sunday,...and today's sales were bad. Definitely throttling going on. Ebay is broken.
We find ourselves somewhere in the middle… our business had over 25% growth last year, but it was far short of expectations and selling daily is much more of a fight than it should be, especially in Q4

Ive been thinking about contacting a fee lawyers, to see if there are any options. Its clear manipulation. Ebay is doing the same things Amazon is getting heat for.

Check to make sure your qty for item is correct when listing, I type in I have 2 it reverts back to 1…..had to re-enter it 3 times for it to take! Then if you do a sell similar, you go in and change some of the words in the title, then start filling out other areas in listing…..check back to read title…it has reverted back to original…none of your changes have been saved…..you have to wipe out the title completely and start all over again. I had originally called into eBay gave them a list of5 major IT glitches going on, well now we have 2 new ones! Make sure you notify eBay rep to write up a IT ticket with program glitches, otherwise they have no idea it’s going on. They fixed the photo uploading for listings on my end. But these are hitting everyone at different times as they work through the servers with all of us.
I'm not defending EBay....but how many people are buying items on a Monday Morning? I hardly ever sell anything on Monday's in general. The weekend is over and most people are depressed that another work-week is beginning. I don't think that I've ever bought an item on a Monday? IDK, just my personal "no one cares" opinion.
I get like a sale or two then nothing the next day. I look at the advertising dashboard and it looks like a pump and dump stock market chart with basically no views. shits wild. I dont even get international sales at all anymore. If I turn off my promoted sales its crickets till I turn it back on. I went 3 days non promoted listings no sales. I think people are tapped out on cash for non essentials. That and way too many people got into reselling so all markets are oversaturated.
