    Thank you for actually speaking in a normal pace. Most how to’s and tutorials seem to be in a hurry and don’t understand that people are trying to take in all this information which, like me, are pretty new to all this technology! Much appreciated!

      Your YT videos are top notch. Too many other bloggers talk about products without showing the detail you need to run routines & specific automation. I always look forward to your posting to learn & really understand this evolving works! Thanks

    Great video!! Much appreciated. Is it possible to do a demo video where you connect the devices to the Samsung Smartthings Station hub? I bought the hub a week ago and can not connect any Aqara products to it. There are no QR codes, nor the scanning for devices "nearby" work. I try also tried connecting by "selecting from a list of devices," and the connection always failed. What I am doing wrong? There is not allot of Smartthing Station help videos on UA-cam. Is that I already have my devices connected to my Aqara hub?
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

      Thanks Khareem. Connecting devices to the Station Hub would not be any different than connecting devices to the standard ST Hubs. More here: www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00048957/
      The only exception is that the Station does not have a Z-Wave radio, so you will not be able to connect any devices that use the Z-Wave protocol.
      Also Z-Wave devices can only be paired to one hub at a time.

    great video sir, thanks for the help.
    I have a question; do you know of any Outdoor transformers that would work with Smartthings?

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  Рік тому

      There are a number of articles on outdoor lighting here. community.smartthings.com/search?context=topic&context_id=13985&q=Outdoor%20transformer&skip_context=true
      I have not set this up but it’s something that I may do in the future. There are no current discussions on any of the transformers mentioned in the articles, so I’m not sure if any of the suggested solutions have edge driver support. Some use normal landscape lighting transformers plugged into a Zigbee outlet. You may need I to do some surgery to get the transformer in weatherproof housings, but otherwise they should work just fine. Here are an offering of ST compatible smart plugs : www.budshomeautomation.com/smart-plugs

    I am AMAZED by how much functionality ST REMOVED from their app compared to where it was a couple years ago. Good riddance.

      Thanks for commenting Tom. Out of curiosity, are you moving to Home Assistant, Hubitat or something else? Or are you getting out of smart home automation altogether?

      Bud - I have always appreciated and enjoyed your content. I will remain subscribed. I had two ST implementations for the 2 houses I owned and I supported several other friends that I convinced to get ST back when it was great. As they started their migration away from Groovy, and even BEFORE that time when they updated the app, I began to lose functionality and it worsened - a lot - in 2022. As we were moving into a new house last year, and I had to start over anyway, I jumped over to Hubitat. I had a home assistant implementation going during 2021 and 2022 but have since abandoned that as well. Hubitat has been AMAZING. I can keep all my old WebCore Pistons and now have all my integrations back - and more. So I am a big fan now of Hubitat .... especially ALL the apps they make available for automations that even in the SALAD days of ST we could have only DREAMED about.

      @@tankthebear - Sounds fantastic Tom. I hear many that are please with the switch to Hubitat. I actually considered the move myself at one point in time. Thanks for sharing your insights on your smart home journey!
