    I am beyond thrilled that I have found your channel. You are so knowledgeable and sweet to share with everyone. Are you still liking the 51104 wax? I can decide between that and coco apricot wax.

    Thank you, Bree! I just wanted you to know that I really appreciate you and your tips.
    You have been helping me enormously while I’m just starting my own journey of candle making.
    I wish you the best on your new testing of waxes and wicks for your relaunch!

    So glad the ht worked well!! Bamboo + Oakmoss is definitely a softer scent but so lovely. ❤❤

    Some wicks are directional. I would cut off the tab and insert the way it would be wicked with the tab. Good luck!

      Certain ones can be! I look for the straightest ones when using this method. That is a great tip! Thanks for sharing.

    Hi, just watched your video, it is really beneficial, thank you. Was about to order the Coco Olive wax for super high price from abroad but put that off. I like working with Coco Apricot, just thought Coco Olive would be better. If you do not mind me asking, which blend do you use? The only downside of Coco Apricot is very weak cold throw, so I was thinking try mixing with your blend. Thank you

      Glad it was helpful! I am currently blending 80% coconut 83 with 20% Titan 51104. I’ve really enjoyed the cold and hot throw of this blend!

    Love all your videos ! I have a question when you burned your coco 83 + S&P in glass jars do you get a lot of wax residue left on sides of jars?

    • @calafiacandleco
      @calafiacandleco  9 місяців тому

      Thanks so much! During the first few burns, I like to have hang-up on the sides because as the candle burns further down and the jar gets hot, it will melt off the residual wax. If you're left with a lot of wax on the sides after the candle is completely finished, you may need to wick up.

    This is such a smart and economic way of testing. Thanks for sharing! Also, how do you like the new clear bags you were trying out for your wax melts?

      I do!! I ordered more and they should be arriving today :). Just what I had in mind for my wax melts!

    Thanks, Bree for this video. I’m just in the beginning process of starting my candle business and this is going to help me a lot with testing.
    Maybe I missed this in another video but have you decided to not make your own cement vessels anymore and go with purchased ones from now on?
    Good luck with your testing of the new kinds of wax!

      I’m glad you found it helpful! Yes, I’ve mentioned it in a few previous videos. I’ll be transitioning to these jars for my signature collection to be able to do wholesale more easily. It’s too difficult to do large quantities with the concrete vessels. Very time consuming. I will still be making concrete candles here and there.

    I pull out the failed wick and then put the retest wick in FIRST and heat gun it right away, then let it cool. The wick slides right into the hole from the previous and you don't have to do the toothpick. Easy peasy. (As a side note, I do heat gun around the wick without trying to hit the wick directly because as you know, most wicks are coated with a wax and I don't want to necessarily melt that off.)

    So you are not doing the cement vessels at all anymore?

    • @calafiacandleco
      @calafiacandleco  11 місяців тому

      No, I will. They will just be more like specialty or limited edition. For my signature collection, I'm switching to the glass to allow more efficiency with the wholesale side of things.

    How do you know what wick to use?

    • @calafiacandleco
      @calafiacandleco  9 місяців тому

      There are lots of wick guides out there from different suppliers that can give you a starting point. From there, you just adjust as needed.
