Oh, so BEAUTIFUL - and seemingly Zero Wastage! Luthering, building seems to have a side to it that creates terrible waste of a precious resource. Like ebony in the violin family - about time we really looked for substitute. But this is Beautiful, Look at him cutting the fret holes on the fingerboard - no jig to be seem just a tenon saw. Maybe this is "normal" but I am impressed.
Ótimo trabalho e arte! Aqui na América do Sul, temos ótimos Luthiers, e muita musicalidade. Isso é um orgulho pra nossa terra. Muito obrigado por compartilhar seus conhecimentos conosco! Saudações amigo!
Hola John, excelente trabajo. Gracias
What craftsmanship! For some reason it just always seems awkward to me to build guitars top-down instead of bottom-up, especially a steel string guitar, but he masters it.
not a single comment about mcpherson guitars, so, you might be interested to know mcp charge around $7000 for one of their guitars, they make about 100 a year, all hand made, mostly to customer spec but a some off the shelf models, all with carbon fibre neck bracing that doesn't need a truss rod or adjusting and they sound pretty awesome. i have no idea how much one of bastidas guitars cost, but it lookslike a lot of work for an existing guitar make, so, off to google to see how much a knock off mcpherson will set me back.
I prefer watching luthiers in second or third world countries because they use hand tools and that's all I've got. In fact I make most of my own tools.
No enseñas?
Beautiful work. You have a much different approach to guitar making. Was the music in the video from your guitar? I hope so because it was a beautiful sound.
Amazing! Some of the designs and techniques are truly unique. I have been around guitars for 50 years and he is doing things I have never seen before. Wish someone had played it so we could have heard what it sounded like. Craftsman no doubt.

Pretty interesting "Guitar Building techniques" to say the least. There are a lot of Classical Guitar building elements (& this is a Steel String Acoustic Guitar he's building here) that are being carried out in ways I haven't seen them done like this before ! The Soundhole shape & postion on the Guitar Top should have given away what he was building , but there were so many individual parts being prepped in ways I wasn't expecting them to be. I have my doubts as to his being an Apprentice to another Guitar Maker for any length of time (I'll have to go back & watch the complete video, as I wouldn't have believed someone could have done as well as he appeared to be doing given his "Unique" building practices
If i was Mac Pherson i will offer this guy a dremel, the routing base and some tools and molds. This guy deserves to win some tools . Huge respect for this guys. Congratulations
That’s what you call craftsmanship. My grandfather could have built a guitar like that. He could straight edge a piece of material with a pocket knife and his eyeball better than most people using a machine and all the latest technology. Now me, I would be in straight jacket about half way a project like that.
If any guitar should be on the market for many sheckles... it should be this guitar and this technique that built it. Every single avenue of originality and practicality of the art was utilized. So.. rest assured, the buyer has payed for a working piece of art. Hell, I could stare at his bracing alone! Good job sir.

There is nothing wrong with that. You can carve the neck before or after gluing. Both methods are acceptable. I prefer before gluing.
