There's a video you can easily find on UA-cam of these guys who go into a mat similar to the one Kendrick Johnson was it, and it shows how hard it is to move and roll from the mat. Screaming and yelling is also extremely muffled. So its quite obvious that this is can easily be a horrifying accident.

It should hold an individual sentence for anyone involved with the cameras in every case. It's destruction of evidence no matter if there is actual evidence or not.

I 1000% think this was bullying gone lethal. The death may have been an accident, but how he got there was not.
Maybe he wasn't dead when the rolled him up in the mat, he may have been held down, then placed upside down, and they probably thought he would just be found by someone else later on, and feel embarrassed. You know the whole thing with kids being locked inside lockers, degrading them. I don't know. I think you'd probably fain pretty quick, I don't think there'd be much air, some air obviously, but having a hard time breathing whilst at the same time getting dizzy from all the blood getting into his head.
Especially if he was freaking out, (which was most likely the case) which means he would lose oxygen. I agree with that. So fuckin sad dude.

Juicy Handshake I recently did research on this case on essay that had to do with Organ Trade and Organ trade may be relating to unsolved murders.
So this is what i got for you.
1)His mother ask for his body to be recover from the burial to have a second autopsy from another person.
2) said person found that kendrick organ was missing, and he did not die from suffocation but a blow to the neck.
3) Harington Funeral made many excuses. However the FNA state that the manner in which kendrick body was handle was "unethical and not normal practice".
The crazy thing is that this could have been an awful accident but why are there missing videos. My belief is that someone kid was involve or an adult who made a mistake. The blood that was found was probably tamper with so it can't be reliable.
UPDATE: After protest, the case has reopened today. Let’s just hope that we find out what actually happened and get justice for Kendrick.
2ND UPDATE: Someone sold an audio tape to the family. In the tape, it’s someone confessing to the death of Kendrick. The police are investigating on identifying the man and whether it was a scam or not.
3RD UPDATE: The confession turned out to be fake

if your shoe fell down inside a vertically stacked gym mat that is way taller then you, why would you decide to go down head first to grab it instead of just rolling out the mat....... Doesn't seem realistic.

Or knock the mat over and grab your shoe from the other opening or the floor if it fell all the way through. The one pic that is shown is the mat is sideways not vertical. Which would make sense how the people who found it saw socks in the mat. Doesn't make any sense if it was upright, and he slipped down. How were the socks seen then? If it was sideways like the pic shows, then how did it fall that way after he had slipped down in the mat to be lined up perfectly with the wall? So many things don't add up at all.

I feel like the bullies accidentally hit his head too hard that caused him to pass out, but that was enough for the bullies to freak out and hence stuffed him inside the mat that caused him to suffocate and bloat, and since the bullies father's an agent at FBI, they covered it up. Agreed! I've felt in my gut that there was SOMETHING not right about this case. I felt there was foul play and that the school district as well as the local sheriff's office just wanted to blow this over. 😒 hopefully they find something new and can give Kendrick justice as well as peace for his family. It wouldn't make sense that he wouldn't just *move* the wrestling mat if a shoe was inside, especially since, if his shoulders are wider than the opening to wiggle in there, there'd be no safe way to go about retrieving the shoe. He was most likely smart enough that he would have just moved the mat, but, idk.

I was a freshman heading to the cafeteria that day. When I got outside I remember seeing his mom on the ground screaming and distraught. It was traumatizing for our entire school. RIP Kendrick ❤️ fly high!

He didn't fall - it's just like the guy in Utah that got stuck in the cave. He was too big for the opening & got stuck at an upside down trajectory - he also died. He was trying to get something out of the mat - something he had done plenty of times but he got stuck & then probably tried to get out & fell down further. It is a freak accident. It is truly horrible but I'm not understanding why people aren't getting that. Look up the cave incident- Nutty Putty Cave in Utah (the guy's name was John), it is literally almost the same scenario except these were wrestling mats & the other guy was in a cave.

@@lesleydemattie2418 Science doesn't lie....people do, cops do, science does not. The pathology in this case points to only one thing that could have happened to this young man. This is all stuff that we learned in Biology/ Science in high school/ college. The Pathology fits perfectly into his death being an accident. I'm saying the pieces literally could not fit any more perfect & they tell the story of what happened to him. I have no idea why people think that two high school age boys could possibly (in a million attempts) get everything to look like this is what happened to him when they really murdered him instead. It would be impossible for them to accomplish that...I'm not even sure a CSI expert would be able to make the scene tell the story of an accidental death perfectly when it wasn't actually an accident. The people that do not believe the truth are not looking at the facts. You have to start with what we know to be true (FACTS) & then factor in any variables. In this case, the things we know to be a fact override any other theory that anyone could possibly make up. That's the problem with false conspiracy theories - people have their minds made up before they even look at the pieces of the puzzle.
When I first started looking at this case - I had no bias one way or the other. Obviously, its not a common way to pass away. But when you look at all the evidence (photos, autopsies, expert opinions, investigative reports, etc) - it absolutely could not be clearer that Kendrick lost his life over some silly thing that he & his friend had done probably a 100 times before. Grief does a lot of strange things to people & I think his parents just can't accept that their child lost his life over something so trivial. I'm a parent & the thought that something like this can & does happen, scares me to death for my own kids.
He was on top of the mat & was holding on to the top of the mat with his left hand & reaching for the shoes with his right hand. That is why his left arm was behind him (or by his side) & his right arm was in front of him reaching when they found him in the mat the next day. The shoes he was reaching for were on the floor down by his head. And the shoes he had on his feet were kicked off while he was panicking & trying to get out (that is why the second pair of shoes are at the top of the mat by his feet). None of his blood was outside of the mat - not one drop anywhere else in the gym. The reason for that is because he was not bleeding until he lost his balance, got stuck in the mat & passed away. The purge fluids (blood included) came out of his nose, mouth, ears & eyes after death. This is a natural process that any human body would go through if they were upside down & died. He had no blood anywhere from his neck down. If he had been bleeding & stuffed into the mat, there would have been blood transfer on the outside of the mat & there was not. It would have found even if someone throughly cleaned the scene...it just wasn't there.
Highly doubt they were friends. Highly doubt he fell into the gym mats. The images on google definitely look like he was rolled into it.

This was no "freak accident". No way in hell. From the way that mat looked, there's no chance that he forced his whole body inside a tiny rolled up mat in order to get his shoe. Nobody would do that. They would just move the mat and pick up their shoe.
I think it was probably a prank gone wrong, some kids (maybe Bell brothers, maybe someone else) thought it would be funny to beat up Kendrick and incapacitate him, then rolled him into the mat and stood it up as a sick joke. Maybe a teacher was coming and they ran away, thinking someone would find him or he would get out himself. Next time they heard anything Kendrick was already dead. This is so terrible, I can't believe how people treat others in this day and age.
Side note, how was Kendrick not able to move his body side to side and tip the mat over? At least the blood wouldn't have rushed to his head. Maybe I'm not understanding the setup of the mats very well but they seem like they would be easy to tip over if you were stuck inside? 🤷🏼♀️

Actually I can't imagine him being able to swing himself to the side as the mats (at least in my high-school) were fairly wide and heavy, to put into perspective any one weighing up to 200 lbs can easily sit on the side of those things and not have it risk going sideways, I can't imagine anyone with no room inside it being able to tip it over, I'd say at most he'd be able to get the mat to slide or wiggle but at the cost of him sliding in deeper into the whole, so as the person above me said he was pretty much lost the second he got stuck or put in there

If it had been a white cheerleader it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference because they would have covered it up the same way. Someone was murdered race may very well be the reason he was assaulted and killed but it was covered up because there dads FBI and he would have covered there asses with the cheerleaders too. So I don't see how being a white cheerleader would have changed the outcome.
The fact that Kendall Rae liked this comment, literally shows that she can see how the police and morgue neglected this entire investigation, and yet, if it was a white cheerleader/student/whatever, the investigation would've been thorough, the body (If any), would've been properly searched, and if there wasn't a body, there would've been a damn manhunt.

This is such a sad story, I’m from the town and his family sat on the corner by the courthouse holding signs for over a year, they were out there everyday. I’ve tried keeping up with this case and recently saw an article saying they would be doing a 3rd autopsy. I really hope his family can get answers and some peace

It said they were old mats being used for the boys to put there belongings in not having lockers. The mats were rolled up lose and had a 17" diameter center hole. So it is possible. Unlikely its what happened. However is a possibility
You're right they stated in an article the mats dimensions. And they states Kendricks decisions. They don't match. The mat was 6 ft tall and had an opening of 14 inches. Kendrick was 5'10" and here's the best part his shoulders measured at 19 inches. 19. Let that sink in.

1) Those mats will not give if you fall into one. A skinny kid in middle school tried jumping into one during gym when the teacher wasn't looking and he only got up to his groin before the mat wouldn't let him go further. So the mat would've had to have been dropped, Kendrick rolled into it, and then set back up.
2) That's a lot of blood for somebody who "suffocated".
3) His face sure as hell got beat up for someone who "suffocated".

Because it seems to me that he obviously would have known he couldn't reach down that far to grab his shoe. Nobody would do that if they knew there was no way of reaching it. Just wondering!!!
His shoes were laying on top of his feet at the top of the mat, like they were tossed in after he went in. This case is so bizarre and sketchy as hell. I’ve been following this since it happened and it blows my mind.

There was nothing else found inside the mat, for him to retrieve.
Im not going to believe that someone would dive in to a mat head first,for no reason, with a high risk of being stuck.
Also highly suspicious that his arms were not outstretched in front of him, which would be expected to grab something, or prevent oneself from head injury if they slipped too far down.
@@Neesi392 The shoes that were found on top of him were his own shoes that he kicked off while he was struggling to get out of the mat. He was retrieving a second pair of shoes (found beneath him) that he shared with another student for gym class. They would keep the shoes in the mat, grab them for class, and then return them there for the other to use. Maybe try actually learning the facts of the case before making an opinion or assertion..

The white shoes that were found on top of Kendrick were his own, and appeared to have been placed neatly beside his legs, if someone was wildly struggling and their shoes slipped off, I doubt the shoes would position themselves together neatly and facing right side up,
The second pair of adidas shoes that you mentioned, he was allegedly sharing with someone, one shoe was found underneath kendricks head and the other was found outside of the mat.

If you think they were "neatly placed" then that could be just how you see it. It might be possible that he tried to kick off his shoes outside the mat so that somebody might find them.
No kid is going to be climbing on top of mats that high who "lost a shoe" and would fall headfirst into a mat. You would move the mats and look underneath them. This is absolutely some wrong-doing.

When I was a teen, a group of people were screwing around on the running-tracks, and one of them jokingly threw a shoe over the chain-linked fence. The guy who owned the shoe climbed the fence to get it, but rather than climb back over, again, he decided to try to vault it. He caught his sock on the fence and flipped over the fence, breaking his arm. It was a green-stick fracture, and he had to go to the hospital. Why did he decide to jump instead of climb? Idk. Why throw the shoe in the first place? Just a freak accident as a result of friends goofing off.
Another example: When I was 15, I went to an outdoor amphitheater where a group of friends were throwing a battle-of-the-bands party. There were around 50 people there, and many people started dancing in front of the stage. One of them, for some stupid reason, decided to take his shoes off, to dance. He then stepped on a random piece of glass which went through his foot. He had to go to the hospital, and receive emergency surgery. Why take your damn shoes off?
Okay one more: A group of friends and I were going to go tubing down a river, my senior year of high-school (so around 17 and 18 year olds). One of the rules we knew was not to tie ourselves together, because of some of the rougher parts of the water could flip a person and they can get stuck. Well, another group joined us, who knew someone in my group, but apparently they had never learned this. They decided to tie their tubes together. We got to one of the deeper, faster portions of the river, and one of the guys got stuck in a tree, yanking them all around and forcing them under a bunch of overhanging trees and bushes. This caused the ones next to the river-wall to get "squished." It wasn't a bank, but more of a vertical hard-packed dirt wall. One of the guys panicked and tried to get out of his tube, but he was flipped over. His leg got caught in the rope and he couldn't surface. He nearly drowned. Thankfully he did not, but everyone had said not to tie yourselves together. They decided to do it anyway.

The affidavit says there is a witness that says there is a confession to his murder. A third autopsy showed blunt force trauma to the chest, and the weapon was a 45lb dumbbell. The affidavit says an agent facilitated in the tampering of the footage. It seems the case is closed but there is a petition online. I can’t find much else.

It's makes me sick to my stomach to think that there was professional help in covering up the murder of a 17 year old highschool kid. The crucial missing camera footage, missing organs, blood on the wall, lack of investigation at the crime scene, and the other circumstances of this case is insane.
I cheered in high school and these mats are very similar to the cheerleading ones. There are 90 lb. girls on the team that could easily tip these mats and push them across the gym (which we occasionally did to conditioon) and even if he were to fall in, it wouldn't take much effort, in my opinion, to tip the mat. All kinds of sketchy.

I work in a funeral home and have for the last five and a half years in Georgia. I myself nor any of my colleagues have had a body come to us post autopsy with absolutely no organs. The ME takes SAMPLES of the organs, and the remaining portions of the organs come to us in a biohazard bag called a viscera bag. So the fact he came back with no organs is sketchy to me. And the funeral home may not have done anything illegal, but it is disrespectful in my opinion to stuff him with newspaper. If they needed to fill out his body for viewing purposes, they could have used sheets of cotton found in every embalming room and just put them under his clothes to give him more shape. The funeral home seemed to have cut corners here.

They weren’t taken. They were visibly decomposing in the autopsy photos. They wouldn’t be useful for anything. The funeral home the Johnsons chose was black owned and operated and used to employ Kendrick’s grandfather. They donated their services for the funeral and cheaped out on materials. It’s not evidence of a murder, just a sort of shady funeral home of which there are countless examples and not just with black people.

I think this was bullying gone wrong and the school is trying to cover it up since the mom has reported the bullying in the past. For that exact span of time to be the only piece missing from every security tape showing the scene and exactly what happened, you gotta be kidding me. That was 100% tampered with and a huge red flag. I don't think this kid fell into that mat for a damn second! I do, however, think the parents were a little too quick with their law suit and they ultimately destroyed the credibility of their case once they withdrew it. I think they should have waited until they got more answers to file anything, honestly, it made them look like grieving parents who were just trying to point the finger and hold SOMEBODY responsible (whether that was the case or not, that's how it looked to the outside). I truly hope they continue their investigation and I hope they discover what really happened and get justice for their sweet son, but most of all, I hope they find peace in their search.

I may be wrong but I tried to find more details on exactly how KJ was found and it seems that based on articles and Kendall Rae's podcast, one arm was extended over his head and the other was down by his waist. I think that Kendall didn't realize the information she had was incorrect. And this makes the facts of the case even more complicated pointing towards a potential accident. I would be split completely down the middle between accident and homicide except for that shoe that was found under Kendrick on TOP of blood and not covered in it. Definitely points towards foul play.

I believe that's what the funeral home did in preparing the body. Stuffing the body with newspaper (after removing the organs) is a cheap way to have the body cavity still have a form.

I went to this school and I can say that Lowndes is a shady school. Me and a lot of other students there think he was killed but our school covered it up. To me Lowndes likes to hid evidence so they don't get a bad reputation because it is one of the "best" school here. Plus the principle and the counselors don't even try to help people they all just seem like they don't care and they put this behind them. They seem like they get all upset because of this case because they say he killed himself. It's really sad. Plus he was in a wrestling mat so how did he kill himself?

Guessing truthfulness based off of body language and facial expressions is a debunked pseudoscience. Same with handwriting analysis. Real signs of lying would be something like having the same excuse as another party (like word-for-word). Not body language. As an example, I am autistic, and I would look "guilty" during any interview, even if it was about sandwiches.

They had over 30 seperate witnesses place them in different areas. 1 was in another state at a wrestling conference, which it just seems insane to have that many corroborating witness tell the exact same story, even for an fbi agents son. We're talking students on the team, coaches, parents, then teachers and students from other schools place him there.... then the next brother, 30 classmates, teachers, and video tape put the other kid in a class room across the school.... that many kids, you'd have inconsistencies, people come forward, and you dont
Also, the boys were friends... kendrick and the one boy were both on the football team.. the small fight they had was over a year prior, and students, friends, coaches all have made statements saying the kids made up a few days later and stayed good friends.

Katie that’s true. But maybe he thought he could get out himself and he used up all his energy trying to get out so when it came time to yell he couldn’t. And he was upside down in a tight space I have to imagine it was very hot and tight being stuck in there and he would have had a hard time getting enough air into his lungs to scream loud enough for someone to hear because again he was in a really tight space. Your chest needs room to expand in order to yell loudly and I don’t think he had enough room being stuck in there to do so. Also Those mats are very thick and extremely heavy when rolled up so if was yelling for help I think it would have been muffled by the mat

I go to this school. I am currently a sophomore at Lowndes High. We are not allowed to talk about it during school hours or talk about it anywhere on social media. You can even look at the school reviews and see how many comments are about Kendrick Johnson. Fun fact: the gym he was found is is known as the auxiliary gym and people still do a few things in there. There is a new section of the school being built and the E WING is being torn down.
He was shoved in the mats by those boys as part of their bullying and he died. I don't think they knew he would die but they didn't take responsibility and his Dad helped cover it up. That's what I believe.

I went to Lowndes high school. I graduated in 2014. I was a senior when Kendrick died. My brother was a sophomore. Kendrick was murdered after school in the gym. All the students found out the very next day. I remember myself and all the other students called our parents to come and get us once we heard somebody was murdered at school. A lot of us didn’t even have to call because the school sent out a voicemail to all our parents saying that a student had deceased. And you can imagine the line to pick up kids outside the high school. It was crazy. I remember very clearly actually. It was during my final period history class the day after he was murdered when all the students found out about it. Then the school staff called everybody to the lunchroom because hundreds of kids were calling their parents to come and get them. And yes, word was already spreading that he was MURDERED because he WAS. Blood was found on his shoe. Photos were quickly released of his face being smashed and disfigured. The gym footage was erased and covered up. I will always personally believe the brothers did it. It is all too much of a coincidence. There is also footage of one of the brothers leaving the gym with a garbage bag the same afternoon Kendrick was murdered. Sadly, I don’t think Kendrick will ever get justice. RIP to the man. His family is still fighting for justice to this day. They still protest sometimes in downtown Valdosta wearing shirts with his disfigured face on it. Breaks my heart.

I hate georgia schools so much. At my hs we had an incident where a girl was sexually assaulted bvy the football team, of course they covered it up though. I'm scared to send my kids to school here because I know how bad they are and what they:re capable of covering up.

Anyways, the main guy that did it (there were 3 I believe), his father is a lawyer. Got out of it. All 3 of them. No one got in trouble. Pisses me off.

As of 2018 a third autopsey was made. This is what was said.
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Our sister station WALB has obtained autopsy results of the third autopsy done on Kendrick “K.J." Johnson.
Autopsy reports determined Johnson’s cause of death was non-accidental blunt force trauma to his right neck and right thorax, which is the body cavity between the neck and abdomen.
The third autopsy also contradicts the findings of the first autopsy, which determined the cause of death as positional asphyxia.
I honestly think he was murdered its bs that he fell in.

I refuse to believe that he just slipped inside the mat. Believe me, most people would just lift the mat or move it to the side. If the mat was too heavy to lift, he would have just knocked it down to get his shoes, though I doubt it was too heavy as he is a football player. Anyway, I think this is definitely a case of bullying or harassment. His death wasn’t premeditated or intentional, but there has got to he foul play involved

I did cheer and we used those mats. There is just no way. It took the high school and jr high cheer teams to roll up, unroll and carry the mats. They are super heavy and they roll up super tight.
We used to walk across the top of the rolled up mats. They dont just fall down. I could see falling in the center hole but not being crushed in an already rolled mat.

Nobody falls down with their arms pinned behind their back, especially if they were reaching for something. The fact he had blunt force trauma to the back of his head should have been an indication he was hit shortly before he died because it would stop the bruising process when you are dying. I'm glad they reopened this case, it's very sketchy and I hope this boy gets justice.
I'm sorry but if he had fallen into the mat he could have very easily pushed the mat over and rolled to get himself out. He was an athlete for crying out loud, there's no way he wouldn't have been able to free himself from the mat if he got stuck. When they interviewed the bullies you can tell they were lying when they said they were friends. He was looking around nervously and you could see he was straining his face to make no emotion. Also if he was ur friend...why didn't you help in ur "friends" investigation?

Considering KJ would have tossed one off after the other and then the crime scene was tampered with by having the mat moved to a horizontal position, I would take the placement of his shoes when found with a grain of salt. I've watched several videos on this case and I can't for a minute think it was an accident. That shady shit with the missing time on the video cameras is really bothersome to me. And the quick decision being made on what happened without any sort of real investigation was garbage. Plus the shoddy police work, at best. Criminal at worst.

I’m only 12, but here’s what I have to say. I see this case all the time. It honestly scares me how much they lie to cover it up. Even the school covered it up. And they know they did as well. They know what happened. They never talk about it, they never post awareness. They never do anything. I’m glad they reopened this case, he deserves justice. This honestly brings me to tears, and more. Those 2 boys deserve more then no scholarships. THIS WAS NOT A ACCIDENT. JUSTICE 🙏.

I feel sorry for everyone involved- Kendrick, his family, the boys being accused (if they are innocent which my gut really says they are) & their family. I seriously think this was an example of bullying turning incredibly nasty. Maybe they didn't intend to kill Kendrick, but they somehow did and panicked. Or alternatively, they thought he was dead and placed him in the gym mat with the shoes to cover their tracks, and there he ultimately passed away due to asphyxiation. Then they deleted the gym footage of all four cameras to hide themselves.

Kendall literally said that Kendrick had been involved in altercations with other students. And even if that's not enough, it's ridiculous how many children are bullied in school- and most of it is hidden from adults. Either way, it's a theory, I'm not saying that it's fact. I just hope whatever happened to him is revealed and his family can learn the truth.
There was never an allegation of bulling until after KJ died. The entire confrontation was a ten second shoving match 14 months before KJ died with one brother. What Kendall says doesn't constitute evidence.

I think I agree with you, I don't think it was premeditated murder BUT everything with the security cameras in the gym and the way he was positioned just doesnt make sense to me. And if anything, I'm sure someone would have heard him screaming for help if he had accidentally fallen in there.
There are a lot of people who have tested it out to see if you could hear someone screaming from inside an upright wresting mat. Even when standing RIGHT next to it, they couldn’t hear the person yelling inside. Those things insulate a ton of sound.

The thing about cameras is that they don't work 24h. In my school we have cameras but they work just for few houres and than they shut down, they are literally there just so kids can think that they are being taped so they don't do anything stupid, when actually they work for like 2 houres or less
Did they do a reconstruction? It would be very interesting to document if a similar sized man could actually fall into a mat and end up in the position that K did.

Actually they did do a re-enactment. Because I saw it. They had some guy that was about the same size as Kendrick try to crawl into the mat when it is rolled up he could not crawl into it because he could not fit his shoulders were too wide.

The missing tape recording says it all look at princess Diana. Their dad is an FBI agent he has way more authority over police officers and it would be easy for him to have someone edit the footage out of what happened.

I'd like to hear Kendrick's classmates thoughts! Did they see anything suspicious that day? Do they know if Kendrick was really bullied by Brandon and Brian? Don't they have any tips? Anything?! How could he have possibly die in that mat with NO witnesses?! Someone HAS to know something! Anything! This was a public school. And gyms are usually always occupied by different people. This case is so bizarre. There just has to be a lead we're missing. Someone has to know something-even if it's the smallest detail. What about the girl Kendrick and his classmate supposedly had issues with? Did anyone talk to her? Brandon is especially sketchy while referring to Kendrick as his "Good friend" knowing damn well they obviously had problems. So much Kendrick's mother made a report to the school? There is... you can look it up.... classmates said the boys were friends. Kendrick had a fight with one boy one year prior. Thats why thd mom threw his name out there. But the boy made up days later and were known to be friends. They also have multiple witness testimony that they were no where near the gym.... one brother was at a wrestling conference, there is on record testimony from every student, teacher and parent he was on the bus. And people at the conference stating he went. The other brother is shown by cctv, 30 students. And a teacher to be in a classroom on the other side of the school for the entire time kendrick would've been killed. . . It seems more insane that many students would have the exact same story. Even for an fbi agents kid
