Great channel and video. I'm looking to get back into MTBs after 20+ years. I have some skill but I'm essentially a newbie, especially around the kit. I plan to ride local trails in Aberdeenshire and have got my eye on the 2021 Mythique VRX 29" at £1,650. My budget would stretch (just) to the 2021 Escarpe CR 29" at £1,999. Do you think it's worth the extra stretch? I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like the Escarpe spec is a little lower in some areas to compensate for the half-carbon frame. Also, I don't have the opportunity to try any of these bikes to size them up but you have mentioned sizing of them a lot in your videos. I'm 6' on the nose, what frame size would you recommend?
Hey man, thanks for the question. So my opinion… it all depends on what YOU want the bike for. I’d disgard spec (for a minute) and think about the riding you’ll be doing most on the bike. Mythique is 130/1400mm travel whereas the Escarpe has slightly more. Both extremely capable bikes - and if you’re from the UK / Scotland area, either bike would be fantastic. If it were me, I’d be going for the Escarpe - due to where you live and IF you decide to do some ‘bigger’ rides, you’ve got that extra travel to make the ride a little more comfortable ;)Hope that helps! When I got the Sommet CRX in 2018, no one heard about Vitus here back then. Since then my friends got the 2019 and 2020 editions as they came out. What you get for your € is really on a different level compared to the well known brands. Now I’m so tempted with the 2021 CRX and yet one week ago I still thought I can wait till 2022 😅😅😅
I’m totally torn about what to get. Toss up between the Escarpe 29 CRS, Sonder Evol GX Eagle, Specialized Stumpjumper Comp Alloy, Whyte T140 S or wait for a YT Jeffsy. Need someone to choose for me! Mind you, only the Sonder is in stock at the moment!!
Nice vid, thanks. Will you be doing a review / first ride video? I’m super keen on getting one - currently riding a 2019 trek remedy 9.7 size large - frame looks very similar but thinking of going for the 29er (remedy is 27.5). Do you think this would be a decent upgrade? I’m 6ft - would you recommend a large or xl? The remedy has always felt on the small Side. Cheers!

As soon as I get my hands on one I'll be reviewing both escarpe and sommet, as well as a comparison, so you can decide which is best for you 😍 Of coiurse I'd say it's worth upgrading lol... Lovely looking bikes and as you said the cost is amazing. I was looking to get an Ibis frame only 3300....prices are steep with some brands. I can't justify paying that just on a frame especially when I can get a full bike for a little more. The Sommet seat tube angle will make it climb ace...I like how they have gone with an alloy rear end. Carbon rear ends can get nasty rock strikes. I've cracked a couple of carbon rear ends from rock strikes. Shame they have not done a top of range rockshox version with Zebs etc. Fox suspension is not everyone's cup of tea. Still have rockshox options though with lower spec suspension. Be cool to see a ride review...cheers
Wow, this is maybe the best looking bike for me personally out there, from 2021 ranges.... I hope they will add frame only option, as I would love to just swap my parts on :D Do you know, Alex, if they would sell frame only? Thanks. As always, rad video!
Hello, 187cm with long arms and legs You would propose Escapre L or XL? Orginally I was looking on Vitus Mythique but this looks much better and it is carbon.
@@wolfpack_adventures Unlucky for me it is not possible to test it in PL. Other side is that good tests of bike with similar length i can test somewhere in spring and as I assume, Vitus will be restock in January by amount of 5pcs for world wide selling :)

I don't get the geometry numbers, the chainstays got 10mm shorter, head angle is 1.5° slacker so front centre must be roughly 20mm longer, reach is basically the same . So how is the wheelbase 40mm shorter?
