Great video - I am wondering how I can use this approach for and existing concrete walkway - without consulting with me, my husband had a 34 ft. walkway laid to the front door made from ugly plain grey concrete patio stones(24x24). Your technique, if possible would pretty up this walkway - do you think it's possible for me to do??????
Thanks for showing us how to stamp concrete. Now that I want to try to do it. I can't seem to find a place that sells the stamp. Would someone please tell me where I should look for stamps?
That’s a great idea. I have been meaning to set that up. We have had two babies in the last 18 months so it’s been busy lol I needed this reminder though!
Awesome video... I am planning something similar (steps not a walkway but basically the same) and I have 1 critical question. From the moment the concrete is ready for stamping, how long do you have to work it? I'm hoping to be able to order the concrete truck for the pour but I am a bit concerned I won't have enough time to stamp all steps before the concrete gets too dry
I wish I had a better answer as this was my concern also. My walk way is about 30 feet long and 3 feet side. I probably could of skipped mixing the concrete myself and got a truck but I wouldn't go further then that unless you have more stamps. Some videos i've seen, they use 4-5 stamps at a time and it moves MUCH faster then with only one. all in all I had about an hour of good working time, I could of pushed that to 1.5 hours. the concrete just starts to set up and you have to be more agressive hope that helps!!
Quest without using cement rebar/remesh chairs when you push down with the shovel you just pust down the wire mesh now you have to repull up the wire? Or you not going all the way down with shovel? I think getting the cement chairs would needed important for Ned to big jobs or iam wrong and not needed
@@dcwoodworks May you please share the exact Amazon link? I looked there but wasn't able to find much. Great job. You just inspired a lot of people to do what you did. 👍
Wait, they sell mixer blade that attached to drill or inpack drivers. When I install a Final fence on the post I needed cement I use they mixer that around $12 mixed up the cement with easy like butter
Quick question, for the 2x4 where you use for the end piece, do you take that out the 2x4 before you pour the new section, or you left it in and pour over it?
This is a question. I’ve been asked a lot. And although I don’t know the true answer from a professional. I do think it’s possible. What I would do first make sure that there are no visible signs that the ground beneath the existing concrete walkway is giving away or shifting Second, I would absolutely poor 3 inches or more of concrete over the top . And I would also probably double the rebar that’s it. don’t skip your relief cuts either in case it ships and cracks. It will crack in those joints. I hope that helps Maybe someone else can chime in if they’ve done this??
I used 3/8 thick ply wood so its extremely bendable. but you can also use regualr ply wood but you have to cut a ton of relief cuts in it for it to bend. use thin ply, its the easiest, just brace it a lot
You just got a sub!!!! Great job! Problem Can’t find the skins on Amazon Well at least the one or similar to the one you are using. Maybe a brand? Would help? Thank you again God bless!

Some videos i've seen, they use 4-5 stamps at a time and it moves MUCH faster then with only one.
all in all I had about an hour of good working time, I could of pushed that to 1.5 hours. the concrete just starts to set up and you have to be more agressive
hope that helps!!
Great job. What is the powder that you used?
Thanks! It’s called concrete release powder! It colours the concrete but also allows the stamp to release easily
Quest without using cement rebar/remesh chairs when you push down with the shovel you just pust down the wire mesh now you have to repull up the wire? Or you not going all the way down with shovel? I think getting the cement chairs would needed important for Ned to big jobs or iam wrong and not needed
Wow, it looks like you did a bang-up job!!!
thanks so much! I am SO excited about the result!!
Great job! Learning by doing is fun and rewarding!
Absolutely! Thanks so much!!
Where do u get your concrete stamps ?
I got them on Amazon!
@@dcwoodworks do u have a link
@@dcwoodworks May you please share the exact Amazon link? I looked there but wasn't able to find much. Great job. You just inspired a lot of people to do what you did. 👍
Stamp and powder link?
Wait, they sell mixer blade that attached to drill or inpack drivers. When I install a Final fence on the post I needed cement I use they mixer that around $12 mixed up the cement with easy like butter
This is a great video thank you I'm definitely going to try this. 😊
You’re welcome 😊 good luck!!
have you tried it yet?! Heres another project I just did but its concrete steps!!

Quick question, for the 2x4 where you use for the end piece, do you take that out the 2x4 before you pour the new section, or you left it in and pour over it?
take it out! Use the hardened concrete in place of the 2x4.
are you going to pour your own??

Great job, hopefully mine will look as good lol
Did you end up doing it?? How did it turn out?
Can do this on old concrete walkway without moving the old surface ??
This is a question. I’ve been asked a lot. And although I don’t know the true answer from a professional. I do think it’s possible.
What I would do first make sure that there are no visible signs that the ground beneath the existing concrete walkway is giving away or shifting
Second, I would absolutely poor 3 inches or more of concrete over the top . And I would also probably double the rebar that’s it. don’t skip your relief cuts either in case it ships and cracks. It will crack in those joints.
I hope that helps Maybe someone else can chime in if they’ve done this??
Very professional looking job
Thanks so much!!
Don’t you have to seal it at the end? Just wondering.
Yup!! I didn’t video that.
Excellent video, thank you
Glad you liked it! I hope you subscribed 🫶🏽

You did an amazing job!!! 👏
Thanks so much!! Have you checked out any of my other videos??
Hi, how did you create the curving formwork , where your path turns 90 degrees in a curve?
I used 3/8 thick ply wood so its extremely bendable. but you can also use regualr ply wood but you have to cut a ton of relief cuts in it for it to bend.
use thin ply, its the easiest, just brace it a lot
@@dcwoodworks awesome thanks 👍
Fantastic!!!! Two thumbs up for you!!!👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Did you make relief joints?
I did! A week after. Not filmed. I’ll show them in my updated video I’m going to post soon
can you put concrete on top old old cracked concrete?
I wouldn’t and I don’t think you’re supposed to. It’ll eventually shift and crack the new concrete
I've used a pitch fork to consolidate along the edges and release air bubble 😅 use whatever you got 😊
Gotta get it done!! 💪🏽
Hi, I do my own patio and I put the stamp on it but the all concrete is dry , what can I do
you have to stamp wet concrete. not dry
Great job and great video.
Thank you very much!
alot of information missing, like what products did you use?
Literally bags of concrete. Several different kinds of depends on what look you want
I love this - great job 🖤🩶🖤

You just got a sub!!!!
Great job!
Problem
Can’t find the skins on Amazon
Well at least the one or similar to the one you are using.
Maybe a brand? Would help?
Thank you again
God bless!
Thanks for subbing!! I cant find the one I bought either.. The only thing on it is a stamp on the back that says BONWAY
@@dcwoodworks Thank you for the reply.
I searched for Bondway concrete stamps.
Found them on Amazon but not the stamp you used.
What they do have is affordable stamps and rollers.
Thanks again
God Bless
@@dcwoodworks Oh, and yes I did add the “ d”
An amazing job 💯. Thanks 👍
Thanks so much!! Do you think youll try it out?!
What kind of form are you using?
It’s thin plywood/mirantee board. 3/8 thick
Like a master piece
@@josecampos-xx7kp thanks! I am so proud of this project
Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wonderful 👍
Thanks! I’m so happy with it
Better and Easy to Measure water per bag
I totally agree
Just a simple tip! Tap the form work with a hammer 🔨 that will raise the air bubbles, and make it easier for a top finish 👍
Great tip! Thanks so much. I’ve fallen in love with Concrete . So I’ll definitely be doing more.
