Excellent work on the animation. It's interesting to hear Davros being genuinely appreciative. I was always curious on what kind of relationship Davros and Nyder had. While Davros did get angry with him on occasion, it seems Davros must have had at least some trust and care for him. Also Terry Molloy is fantastic.
That's what made this scene special. You can absolutely piece together that the writers knew that these two had a special kinship, and wanted to show their respect to these characters and their respective actors. The nifty thing is, Nyder also got snappy at Davros too from time to time, and Davros tolerated it. I think it might be because Davros recognizes a bit of himself in Nyder and therefor didn't mind being on the receiving end of someone who held the same convictions as he did.

Even as twisted as he was back then, this and even Genesis show there was some level of humanity left in him, rather than the warped, humanoid Dalek he’d later become. If you look at the cackling Davros from Stolen Earth/Journey’s End (though Julian will always be my favourite Davros) and see the cold, stoic, arrogant and cruel, but utterly misguided scientist who begs his creations to spare the lives of the fellow scientists whose deaths he sees unnecessary This video is a great showcase of how he gradually became more and more twisted until Genesis where after he was revived he grew even worse. Nobody deep down is really 100% evil, (though when you look at people like Lavrentiy Beria and Josef Mengele you can get pretty close) and examples like this, Genesis and The Witch’s Familiar (I really wish he’d died having redeemed himself there) are great examples of that in Davros.
@@nickthepick8043 Yeah, I admit that I used wrong terminology on my comment. Never the less, more of this is welcomed considering that not many 3D animators aren't gonna touch this Big Finish work.
@@nickthepick8043 Oh damn! Very observant. I hadn't noticed that detail. I'll have to go back and have a look for that. They certainly left little doubt as to who the inspiration for the Kaleds was. Thank you and very good job on portraying Nyder when he was a young combat officer.👍🏻

Nyder was perhaps the one person Davros considered to be a friend.
You're totally right. That was actually the underlining plot of the audio drama.

I never interpreted their relationship as an amicable or an affectionate one but I like it.

I like how the hat of the Supremo is kinda shaped like the head of the Dalek Supreme, a nice touch of foreshadowing

Nyder was one of my all time favourite minor villains in classic Dr Who. The Kaled version of Heinrich Himmler.
