video's like this remind me of the love I have had for this hobby over some 35 years thanks for putting a smile on my face and great work with the fry :)
Awww thats so lovely, I think it might be my favourite comment! Thank you for making my day and passing that smile right back to me :D
Thats amazing. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much glad you enjoyed :)
You took me back 40 year on my first corys breeding and the joy it brings us, your next task is breeding your rams it will be very different but rewards even better , nice to see enjoyment in your hobby
That’s awesome glad I could take you back :) it makes me so happy hearing about others love and passion for our amazing hobby!
My rams are long gone unfortunately the pair of electric blues I had did lay eggs a couple of times but they never made it to the hatching stage. I’d love to pick some new ones up and try again but the quality of rams in my local shops doesn’t seem to be the best. I’ll be keeping my eyes out for some or maybe some other similar cichlids.
@@BlinkyShimp rams, aspos and few other dwarfs work well with tetras and corys and your shrimps , and yes key to dwarfs is very good stock its takes time . i was lucky to have space for a fish room out side my 2 show tanks both were ox bow tanks with clay on backs of tanks ,took times to master my set up but my fish loved it seeing fish breeding living with others is great viewing but very hit and miss for young growing up. thats when i new i needed space for breeding room and many tanks, all gone now after 37 years 1978 i started how things have changed in that time ?
Wow that’s amazing I bet you learnt so much over the years! when I finally get some dwarf cichlids you’ll have to share some of that wisdom and give me a few tips ;)
Subscribed. Amazing when they breed 👍thanks for sharing
Thank you very much and yes, it really is isn’t it what a joy
Awesome job! It is so rewarding to raise up fry and you’re doing right by those cute little ones! There is nothing like seeing those full orange bellies! And thanks for the shoutout! 😊
@@Mrs.M-Aquatics Thanks It really is isn’t it😁 Iv had so much fun with it and I’m really proud of my little ones 🥺 and you’re very welcome that food was a great call!
Alright just for the record I was here when you had ~100 subs, let’s see how this channel goes
Thank you so much for the support and coming along for the ride 😄
So cool. Congratulations
Thanks 😄
those are some adorable wriggly friends! I hope you keep having good luck with them. :)
I've not bred Corys before, but over the last... almost twenty years?, I've raised lots *_and lots_* of live-bearers (mostly guppies/Endlers, but at least a few broods each of mollies and platys as well, lol), Blue tilapia (technically a cichlid) and two types of seahorses (Hippocampus erectus and H. zosterae). I want to try with kuhli loaches sooner or later, though I haven't found very much info on breeding them yet (so I think that'll be a kind of fun experiment??)
Thank you :) Iv been meaning to pick up some livebearers for a while now , guppies where my first fish but with me being new to the hobby I didn’t realise they where all males😂 And wow seahorses! That’s fascinating I’d love to give those a try if I ever dip my toes into saltwater. You should definitely have a go at khuli loaches! iv heard there extremely challenging but it would be so rewarding to get it right!
Excellent! Pandas are adorable :)
Thank you , Aren’t they just 🥺
These are the cutest little guys😊 congrats fish mom! I’m sure you’ll raise them right! Just subscribed!
Im curious, how long does it take these fry to reach maturity?
They truly are! Thank you so much I’m flattered you think that :) and much quicker than your koi I bet they’ll be fully grown and ready to start there own fishy family’s in a years time.
I just subscribed
Cheers much appreciated :)
Hi
Congratulations on the fry.
Just a suggestion after watching your videos, but could you please reduce the volume of the background music, especially when there's dialogue.
So sorry about that , it sounds way louder than I intended especially at the start. Annoyingly I can’t turn it down now it’s already uploaded 😩
@@BlinkyShimp All good. I have subscribed and noticed the levels were similar in some other videos, so I thought I would just suggest it for future videos.
Thanks I Really appreciate your feedback :) next vid it will be much quieter
That is awsome!!
Thanks :)
AMAZING amazing
Thank you
When did you turn the heater back on?
The day after the water change so the heater was off for just under a full day :)
Tweedledum et Tweedledee XD

If you want to harvest a bigger amount of corys I would suggest putting the eggs in a separate cup of water with 10 drops of your average hydrogen peroxide to stop the fungus from developing and 2 water changes A day of 80% . Congrats on your corys !
Thanks for that! I’d heard of people using methylene blue but didn’t realise hydrogen peroxide could do the same ill give it ago :)
@@BlinkyShimp I’ve had way more success with it over methylene blue . Good luck !
Awesome That’s great to hear , I just pulled a bunch more eggs today so will be interesting to seehow much the hatch rate improves :)
