I love Opinel pocket knifes and have several. They are affordable and super practical. The simple locking mechanism is genius. You can use them in the kitchen, in the garden, in the workshop, or when out camping and hiking. Everywhere, really. They hold an edge quite well and are easy to sharpen when needed. This one you made is obviously not an exact copy but I think it is a worthy tribute to the original. Good job!
Love the opinel knife job well done sir. I personalize my Opinel but I don’t have the equipment you have. I am a big fan of your Chanel. Thanks for sharing cheers from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Nice work Koss! Love the way the spine tapers to the pipe and nice touch with the copper plating. Definitely heavy duty and probably could use it instead of a roll of quarters in a pinch. ;) Thanks for sharing all your creativity! ~PJ
very nice work, sorry for the comment, but I think it would have looked much nicer with a bevel to the butt of the handle more like a real opinel. As it is, it looks like just a pipe.
Why call it an Opinel ? Why not just a ring lock pocket knife ? In all honesty it is not made like an Opinel other than the ring lock feature, and that is even a different design than Opinel. They do not have a perfectly cylindrical shape. Don't think I am just here to criticize, I really like the knife. I think the ring lock on your creation is a different (even more robust) design than the theirs and the idea of knurling is perfect ! I would have loved to see a more refined design on the handle however. There is no way to grip and would be quite easy to slide a hand down the blade when using the point. I love your work but I would have liked to see more refinement of the handle portion.
I am so sorry, I cannot watch this video. I was responsible for workers safety for one year, so it's really uncomfortable to see someone, using the band saw or lathe with cloves. Please do never do this again, or you will lose your fingers!
A featureless tube with a knife on the end. This looks nothing like an Opinel. Could have at the very least shaped the handle, added crosshatch and polished. Yet you went to the effort of copying the virobloc which is actually patented. 🤷🏻♀️
I love Opinel knives. Sadly, this video is a rare miss for you as far I'm concerned. The knife looks like a Duracell. The round grip makes it very easy to have it twist while using it. Most of all, the wobble in your parts on the lathe made me cringe. Then again, most of my lathe work has tolerances of +/- .0002" on average, and I imagine you don't need to be so precise.
The copper plating was a nice touch.
Another sexy piece of work.
A far cry from the old days of angle grinders and hand sanding.
Dope AF knife, Koss! It belongs in a high-end sporting goods catalog and/or retailer!
You are a master craftsmen. 🤝 congrats from england, sir 🏴
Salut !
Jolie travail !
Magnifique couteau!

Would have preferred a traditional Opinel blade and not a standard blade shape but well, still it's lovely.
Really cool knife. Out of curiosity, what was the purpose of hardening the handle?
Fantastic work. Looks like it would be a heavy knife to carry. But it also looks indestructible.
Great tribute to this traditional knife !
Man, what an awesome knife, i love the creative contnent that you bring to us
duracell knife. it does have that look love the opinel style
Hello mister beautiful knife beautifully made well done
That is one good looking Fullmetal Opinel
Thanks for being an inspiration to all makers. ❤
Damn, you speak for all makers ? What a weird thing to say.
Love the opinel knife job well done sir. I personalize my Opinel but I don’t have the equipment you have. I am a big fan of your Chanel. Thanks for sharing cheers from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Really stunning knife, dude! Amazing work!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Amazing Craftsmanship 👍🏻👍🏽👍
He burns the knife blade after heat treat by grinding on the belts without cooling the blade at all. That is not craftsmanship. That is novice level.
Very nice lathe work, sir!
Mad skills... respect 🙏
That is one the most incredible vids I've watched.. awesome craftsmanship
That turned fire as hell bro
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
I enjoy your blade making videos so much!
Very cool Koss

I’m going to give a shout-out good job to Google translate on this one. Also the original poster a technical response I could clearly understand.
Nice work, especially on the blade. But was it really necessary to quench the handle?
Amazing creation!!

Roll of quarters?
This was such an awesome video. Great idea and it turned out so well but big kudos to the videography and editing
That's great, but I'd make the handle shorter and weld something over the block, in order to allow me to turn it easily and with one hand.
Impressed…. Very nice work. Do you propose such kinda knives to public?
Beautiful work 👏👍
It's giving Duracell. 😂
Awesome craftsmanship nontheless.
I love my Opinel. It's much more light weight than yours. Your version looks very good!
nice result ( good craftsmanship) what is the weight...?
Cool video and all but why harden and temper the handle pieces?
Muy muy bonito, una obra de arte
Super 😊👍
I never cared for this kind of knife, but this was still a fun project to watch. The wobble on the lathe machining was getting to me, though. 😬
Eline sağlık.
Are you going to be adding anything to your shop?
Wish you had found a way or time to shape the handle more but pretty cool
only for winter use in the cold))))
Very cool knife, I love it. ~Kevin
This is only opinel I want! 😊
Mantap 👍👍👍
Outstanding…
Amazing ❤
Super!
Joli ! 👍
Good
Looks like a giant Duracell battery when closed, good work tho
duracell knife
I think same, like it.
Coke can shim stock..a man of knowledge and culture, i see.
I mean I'm a blade lover but this reminds me of a AA battery with a bad attitude 😂
How much to make me one, I've carries opinel forever
wow🔪
❤👍👍👍
ThanK you 👍♥️
Woopsie, can't lock in closed position.
Atroposknife Anti-Opinel
is it just me or does it look like that Duracell battery

When its closed it looks like a duracell battery
I think u need a bigger lathe to make a bigger opinel 😂
Svini stil :) edichs prinson ...
Das rändel ist nicht perfekt
Cutting round stock on a bandsaw is a great way to wind up with it hitting you in the face. Don't you own a machinist's vise or even a u-clamp?
I am so sorry, I cannot watch this video. I was responsible for workers safety for one year, so it's really uncomfortable to see someone, using the band saw or lathe with cloves. Please do never do this again, or you will lose your fingers!
With gloves
No lub while parting, knurling? Poor lathe, poor tools 😥 Amazing result indeed!
not an opinel but nice try

Ni se parece a una opinel...
I love Opinel knives.
