@@21agdmnm hey buddy i use a trick for shading might help you too use the image trace feature with 3 colors after that you can see the 3 colors shadows midtones and highlights and you can then trace them hope this helps for highlight use a gradient of the skin tones and white

I think he created a duplicate layer of beard and changed the fill colour and maybe adjusted it or flipped it and sent it backwards. Though i am not sure myself.
He created the grey the same way he made the black. It's all with the pen tool. Honestly it looks like he skipped that part because it took too long. That's tedious work and not fun to watch haha. It looks like he made everything with the pen tool
@@hemangkhullar1844 You mean the grey beard? He just drew it twice but skipped that part completely. So you`ve got two detailed shapes. One grey and the other quite different in black on top.

no effects, only stamping out every shadow and light and tone it differently in the end. the key is that you first draw every single paths you want to shape in the end. You understand?
