Tell me about your homeworld Usul. Thank you for some great memories, acquired long after the film was released just to give you an idea of the legacy you helped create. You were a massive part of the two most influential films in SciFi history that had such an impact on my young psyche, I thank you for that. x.
This was an awesome video! I have to say that I've watched this movie (Dune) for the better part of my life and have never found myself wanting for anything when it comes to it. The movie was great and your acting in it (as was everyone else) superb. To make a film like it at that time......must have been incredible. Thirty minutes to get in your suits and then to have to wait, whew......
And also makes it seem like the movie was made a century ago. Then again I doubt she could have gotten clearance for the actual soundtrack but youtube has an ok collection of music nowadays.
Music choice aside it is unfortunately overwhelming your voice and makes it difficult to keep up as well as it creates pacing that does not flow with the video at all.
I watch Dune every birthday, it started in my teens, now its a personal tradition. I think its one of the best films ever made and all the people involved should be proud of it.
Dune is a great movie. I stand aghast at how many dislike it. Blasphemy. Im sure as birthday viewer, it's great for family events too, especially while imbibing drinks.
Blasphemy is ignoring the main Herbert's message, exactly what they did. I understand that there are a lot of people who like the film especially because it is visually impressive, but it is not a worthy adaptation, and its mistakes have nothing to do with the footage. The script was the blasphemy. By the way I hate to use that term talking about Dune. It is just the sort of thing a follower of a messianic leader would say.
I was an extra in that movie in Mexico City i was in the same scene with Sting, he is a wonderful person and I use to translate because of- no hablar español. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet all these Actors at the same time and director David Linch was a Genius. at the same time in the same studio, they were making Conan the Barbarian with Arnold Slazenger, at lunchtime we did not change our customs you can imagine the bizarre scene with all these different customs. After the movie, we work with Carlo Rambaldi the creator of King Kong and we work with the huge worms in a huge scenario like dessert made with "micro-balloons" like mini basketball balls. For special effects and remember we were in 1983 no computers, no digital, it was a wonderful time of my life working with wonderful people.
I remember watching a documentary about those micro-balloons, when the fans powered up everyone had to wear maks because they could cause lung problems or did i dream it ?

What a delightful inside look at a sci-fi classic with a--pun intended--galaxy of stars. In contrast to the serious mood of the movie itself, it's fun to see all of you sitting around having breakfast, laughing and chatting. So much talent everywhere you look and what a time capsule! Good for you, Sean, for having the prescience to capture all that on film. There's a lot of generosity and goodwill in all these scenes.
Do you genuinely have good intentions for Sean when you say, "Good for you, Sean"? It comes across as quite distracting and potentially inappropriate for this context. Expressing gratitude with a simple "Thank you" might be more suitable. Unless you are older than her or serve as her mentor, that statement can be interpreted as someone positioning themselves above, peering down, and projecting a condescending impression.
msyPARIAH You are teasing now, that is unfair 😉 There are thousands of people who would love to see it, myself included( still, after 8 years since your original mesage ☺ ) so, no excuses - you must upload it. Such an uderrated film Dune is, however butchered it might have got by Hollywood execs. Anyway, I know it is well appreciated among sci-fi community in my country (Poland). It ranks among my favourite science fiction films, alongside "Bladerunner", "Dark City" "Alien" , both versions of "Solaris". I just realised that I recognise some esthetic qualities of Jennifer Connely's character in "Dark City" that seem to echo your Rachel...Well, one more reason to like it.
it took me nine years to come here and watch these beautiful souvenirs, hope you'll post more (and if you had this camera with you on Blade Runner's set, I don't mind either)
Oh Sean Young, don't you know that you will be remembered in our hearts always and forever? Please keep contributing to the arts like this and anything else.😊
It's 2020. So many years have passed, yet Dune remains one of my all time favorites. It was released in 1984, the year my second child was born. As my 3 kids grew up, Dune was a movie we watched as a family many times. In fact, randomly quoting a line from the script has given us many occasions for smiles. The movie prompted me to read the entire Dune series, which are incredibly complex novels. The themes and issues addressed in the series are timeless and very relevant. Sean, thank you for being a terrific actress in this and many other films. Your comments about Hollywood film culture are very interesting. As a very young actress I can't imagine what it was like to work on huge productions like Dune and Blade Runner. I hope you write your story so someday we can know those truths that can't be openly discussed even today. Best wishes and many thanks for your stunning performances.
The movie is worth watching again just to see Sean in the black still suit. She is lovely as is Francesca Annis. What a great cast too. Anything Max Von Sydow is in, is worth watching. The same is true with Jurgen Prochnow. I think the film is very underrated.
So, here I am 9 years late. I loved the movie when I was a kid, the books and the actors. A special place in my heart and memory is for Sean Young who I loved in blade runner as well. Lots of thanks for the upload from one of your unknown fans.
My dad took me to the theater one day and we were to pick a movie sight unseen. We chose Dune based on the poster and I really wasn't excited to see it. I thought it was boring and that I would never see it again. Years later when I started watching Lynch movies I couldn't leave out Dune. Every time I watch it I like it more.
I watched Lynch's Dune again very recently and it still holds up well. The costumes and set designs are absolutely outstanding. Everyone's acting performances are wonderful, and it's also just nice seeing old faces you have come to love over the years. I saw the film in the theater a few times when it came out, and was impressed back then as well. It was a weird, different kind of space epic. I like to describe it as Game of Thrones in space now. Thank you so much for posting this, Sean. And it was also delightful to see you in Bone Tomahawk, if briefly. What a different sort of western that is! I am a huge fan of that director now.
I was a utility stuntman on Bladerunner and watched them film your street scene. I didn't know who you were at the time, but I vividly remember how stunning you looked standing there in your long fur coat. I remember it being a tough shoot, lots of smoke and rain. We worked from 6pm to 6am every night for two weeks, but it was worth it. Hope you are doing well and know that your wonderful performance in Ridley's classic film will insure you movie immortality for all time. Be well.
I too think Dune is one of the greatest movies ever...I'm 65 and have been a Frank Herbert fan for a very long time...I have watched it countless times and use it sometimes to fall asleep...I find it to be soothing background noise...is that nuts or what?... thanx for being beautiful Sean!
and to think if Dune made money, Lynch was on board to make the next two books (Dune Messiah and Children of Dune). I would have loved to see Lynch's adaptation of Dune God Emperor.
Jodorowsky's Dune would have been an art-project. It looked very promosing and might have been a stunning ScFi movie but with hardly any connection to the original story.
Dune is one of my favorite films, and one of the most epic and ambitious sci-fi films of all time. Sean was terrific as Chani and it's great to see this behind the scenes footage that she put together! Apparently 13 people don't agree that the spice must flow....
Maud-dib himself tried to alter the flow of events and at the end of the first book had apparently succeeded. There is another theme not taken up in Dune alas.
With the release of the new version of Dune I'm even more aware of what an amazing film the original was. I think the biggest reason is the cast was incredible. How lucky the young David Lynch was to work with you all. Thank you for sharing this!
Right? In what kind of world do Zendaya, Josh Brolin and Sharon Duncan-Brewster beat Sean Young, Patrick Stewart and Max Von Sydow? Seriously I watch Dune 1984 and I smile all along, considering myself in good company. The 2021 version? Damn I hate them all...
Ms Young, I can't believe I only just now found your channel. I just want to tell you how astonishing, mesmerizing, and magnificent your performance was in Blade Runner. Every time I watch that movie, I'm just in awe. Thank you for this gift to the world.
I appreciate that you may not appreciate the previous generations of music but it really isn't as bad as you think...and hokey isn't so bad either. Hokey is OKey dokey!
@msyPARIAH Hello Sean, I noticed some people's comments bothered you... but please don't worry about that, the music was very effective and I felt like I have been in that era for that moment... so we can't expect everyone to be on the same boat... but you got people who appreciate it... thanks for the footage... I loved it!
msyPARIAH I doubt this still active for you? You are a person, first and foremost, I have admired and appreciated your performances in films.. if you are still out there I do get the difference of a character or a role, and the person, hope you and yours are well
I can't believe I have only just found this! I have been 'Dune' crazy for almost Thirty years. I wore out two VHS, I have three CD's, one audio book on cassette, a digital download & that many copies of the book I have lost count.Plus all the sequels and preludes. Sean young, well, You are a babe if ever I saw one. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing this film
Dear Sean, you have performed two sublime characters (Rachel & Chani) in two of the most visually groundbreaking Sci-Fi movies of the early 80s : Blade Runner and Dune. These two chefs-d'oeuvres have been in my heart for 40 years now. I have seen various cuts of Dune, official or not, and no matter what cantankerous critics might say, it is a work of art! I have seen the new Dune diptych and it doesn't hold a candle to it. It has no passion, no warmth, no sensuality, (and also... since when the people on Arrakis would actually say the word "Okay" ? Bad writing!) Anyway, your performances are forever in my heart. Thank you.
Yea, I agree. This IS priceless. Probably just a bit of fun with a Super 8 camera back then, but add up the time that has passed and this becomes even more remarkable. Again, thanks for taking the time to post this. I'm still a fan by the way. You do you.
Thank you for not only sharing this footage but for sharing your truth and being a sincere, genuine human. Not many of those in Hollyweird. I admire your bravery and tenacity.
This is so wonderful. You are so wonderful! Thank you for uploading this; it's so great to see this kind of home-footage! Dune is such an important film.. And I'm glad it has this cult classic status now. It's so artful, and cerebral. Qualities that are are lacking in too many new productions. If people try to make a film adaption of Frank Herbert's work again, I'm worried they'll make it into a brand, or a hashtag. I'm glad this is the only film-adaptation of this story at the moment, because the complex and deep nature of the story deserves this level of eccentricity!
+ProtoGuy Denis Villenuve is directing a new Dune movie, and there is a script for 2-part movie, or more if needed (as he stated). Why not give him a chance?
A wonderful story before its time. Still love and watch the film. Almost 37 years ago, a better time. You were perfect for Chani's role. Stay forever young. Thx for sharing.
I came out of the theater after the movie on fire. I loved it. I was a 17 year old dork and I thought it was the greatest thing I'd ever seen. So many good and interesting actors and actresses.
Thank you for sharing this behind-the-scenes video, Sean! Amazing to see this rare footage of what went on with the actors, director, etc. off-camera. I literally just finished reading Frank Herbert's Dune for the first time & re-watching the 1984 David Lynch version of the movie for a second time (it definitely makes a LOT more sense after reading the book...!). You are an amazing actress (loved you in Blade Runner as well!). Thank you for bringing the character of Chani to life in this film!
I LOVE that you captured this footage - plus all your Blade Runner polaroids. It's like you invented Social Media posts before they existed! What wonderful memories. Much love and peace.
This was a great clip to watch, thanks for uploading. Dune is one of my favourite films that I first watched when I was 12 in 1987, it is an epic movie. Sean, if you read these comments, thank you for your great performances in both Dune and Bladerunner. Both yourself and Francesca Annis were, and are still, two very beautiful women who delivered exceptionally good performances in your acting on screen in Dune.
Hiya lovely Sean. I adore this nice channel you got here, hidden away from getting hit with tons of unwanted attention. Just the tons of wanted & cordial attention lol So cozy. Its perfect. I enjoyed this a lot 8 yrs ago I first watched & commented it. What a visual treat. You are so clearly having a blast doing this project & filming it. You contributed to the fun during shooting also no doubt. Love the playful Scott Joplin ragtime music choice. Are there other iconic celebrity talents (besides you) that have had the occasion to show some love on your channel here? I don't know why you haven't been involved in tons of high profile projects all thru the yrs. What you have done, I enjoyed. But whatever the reason, you've been so deeply missed ;-(
Thank you David and crew for making this outstandingly fantastic movie, regardless of what was said when this movie first came out, i found this to be the best sci fi i and many others have ever seen, even though the production didnt work out as planed i had ofen wished to see the other books made into movies as well, but oh well, im sure the folks of today would appreciate them more then they did back then, thank you for making DUNE David Lynch, a masterpiece at it finest.
WHY IS THIS ONLY 5 MINUTES?!?!?? Id watch at least another hour Dune will always be special to me because even tho I was in elementary school some part of my brain latched on to David Lynch and his sensibilities and never let go. Thank you for posting this, Sean. Cheers and hope youre keeping safe.
I watched this a few times over the years. Lynch's Dune is still a fascinating art project. Full of atmosphere and strangeness and quite unique as a standalone piece. Beautiful vision and sounds, with eerie peculiarities that never break. To me its a moving painting and great theatre. I think people will watch the film again with a new perspective since the latest films have arrived. Also. Sean Young should be in more films. If this is her channel. Thanks for sharing the footage.
Dune is still one of the best movies I have in my collection. And over the years i have bought Dune 9 times as it has changed from VHS to DVD and directors cut etc.
I still find that David Lynch’s Dune is an incredible film. I loved it as a teenager and I love it now. There was nothing wrong with the film. The problem, in my opinion, was that fan base for Dune was relatively small. The general public was probably thinking they’d be seeing another Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. Dune was likely beyond what the average filmgoer could grasp. The film was epic in the true sense of the word. Grand visuals and sounds, the music, all of the actors, absolutely amazing. That’s the problem I find with the current Dune. It feels like a dumbed down version for the masses. It’s brilliant, looks and sounds great, but I feel like a lot is missing. The mini- series was fantastic. It fleshed out a lot of the story because it had time to do so.
+SteelCurtain222 I was 10 when it came out and never saw it, maybe cause I thought it would be too scary. But I remember seeing the posters of it at the shopping centres and thought it looked cool, kinda Star Wars like.
I saw it a few years after it came out in the UK, on TV, I was probably about 7 years old and I absolutely loved it although I didn't understand it! I was fascinated by it's weirdness, I used to watch it constantly on video, and then all of a sudden I realised that I was terrified of it! Something just suddenly started to upset me and I couldn't watch it again for years, until I finally read the book when I was 15, and I was able to rediscover it. Definitely an underrated classic.
Very cool raw footage! I remember watching this movie too many times while I was growing up in the 80's. Bet you could still rock that suit! Where's my Chani?
Nobody was allowed to be around Silvana. She had her own Make up room and was basically guarded so nobody had much contact with her. It was a Dino thing...
I decided not to say a lot of things in this video. I thought why bother to reveal all of David's secrets....and I HAVE minced words many times. It is not possible to really say your truth and be considered safe to work with. Hollywood is filled with this fear. Something David Lynch came to be disgusted with in his journey through La la Land....
@@gandalfgrey91 Wow, first of all that is a shit thing to say. If you hate hollywood so much why do you follow it so closely? Second no normal person would care about any 'tell all', that is often reserved for half wits. It is because of people like you that most normal stars shy away from the rest of the public.
Sean, this is amazing, thank you for sharing this with us! And thanks for being part of my Eighties, growing up with scratchy vhs tapes of Bladerunner, Dune, No Way Out... You were gorgeous then and gorgeous now- thanks for uploading this 💙 (Just realised I’m about 10 years too late with my comments )
Fear is the mind-killer has stayed with me forever. I know every word to the movie. This is my favorite movie. And I have no idea how many times I've seen it I've actually lost count. Thank you again you're one of the best parts in the movie. I thought you were super cool. And I still do.
I always loved this movie and felt it never got the recognition it deserved. It was perfectly cast; Sting? What a crazy idea...that worked out to be absolutely correct. Sean Young was beautiful but neither prissy nor a weak damsel, Richard Jordan, Max von Sydow, Patrick Stewart and Kenneth McMillan delivered kick ass performances as usual. The evolution of Paul, from spoiled dauphin to rebel leader was wonderful. Literally everyone, Linda Hunt, José Ferrer, Brad Dourif, Virginia Madsen...they were all exceptional, even in the small parts. The soundtrack was engaging. The film properly balanced spirituality with technology. The production design was top notch. And while some cuts are better than others, none of it is ever boring. I think the mark of a great film is to construct a world the audience feels is real. Indiana Jones did it, Harry Potter did it, Star Wars did it, and so did Lynch's Dune. Every time I watch it, which is about once a year, I see something new.
This is so lovely. I am going down a Sean Young rabbit hole from readng your great interview from Daily Beast and the 2009 interview with the late, great, sweet Carl Reiner. I am rooting for you and hope to see more of you in shows!
I was six years old during the filming of this. Such a precious time period and so beautiful. All of this has a special place in my heart. Thank you for being part of such a cool movie and thank you for giving me something cool to grow up with. You're quality and you are awesome. Muad Dib!!
Dear Rachel, and Chani. Love you so much. Thank you all the time by those characters. But, knowing you for real at least in videos is a delight. Love you more :)
Personally, I love this movie. It has a creepy tension to it which draws you in and holds your attention. I guess it was just too "weird" and perhaps kinky for the mainstream audience.
I remember watching this movie around midnight in Brea, Ca. I was the only one in the theater and I felt like I was watching the greatest sci-fi movie ever. I still cannot understand why it made so little money upon initial release.
I had the pleasure of seeing Sean Young briefly in Sedona Arizona during a annual film convention approx 1998. She was wearing a pair of angel wings I recall and very beautiful I instantly recognized her and had no idea she was in Sedona. I was living in Sedona during that time period Just watched Dune Part 2 recently. A great film. As is the Lynch film. Can’t imagine how challenging it was to craft the film Such a monumental collective effort. Sean thank you for sharing these videos and aspects of your creative life. Much love and respect.
Dune was great, although incomplete. To carry the weight of the first Dune novel will take several films (or a TV series like the one Syfy made), but Lynch knew how to adapt it and made history. It was ahead of its time because there were already Star Wars, Star Trek and Alien and more. The world wasn't ready for the inevitable epic Dune was. As a matter of fact, Ridley Scott was a potential director for the movie. He claimed it would have been bigger than (or as big as) Star Wars, I believe him.
In many ways this cult classic is a fascinating film and even at times a great one. It should be of special interest to sci-fi fans in particular. For them, I would say this is a 'don't miss film.' It was certainly a beautiful film to watch and the special effects are stunning
Very cool video…I saw the movie when it first came out. I’d read the book in high school ( 1977 ), so it was interesting to see the movie version. The musical score for the closing credits is the best ever! So many amazing performances too! Thanks for putting it up for us “Dune” fans. I was an extra in a movie, and I must have gained 5 Lbs! GOOD catering!
Dune was such an amazing movie. One of those 1980's sci fi masterpieces. I mean everything about the movie, the actors, the sets, the vibe of the movie was so strong. It is Dune. And there have been so many things that this movie influenced its not even funny. I wish they made a sequel with the same cast and director. Maybe Dune 2 and 3 kinda put together in one big movie. Just like Blade Runner had it very distinctive look, Dune had its own look and universe.
Yeah I blame a number of things but the studio and distribution hollywood machine ought to take some of the blame. They should have given Lynch his 3 hr movie on a delayed release instead of 2 hrs movie all or nothing. James Cameron had a directors cut for Aliens, Lynch should have a directors cut for Dune. Lynch needs to return to directing and get a new Dune movie made...
Lynch does not really direct "big movie" like on this scale anymore. In part because of how this movie came out. Kyle MacLachlan said in one of these youtube documentary that he does not really even talk about Dune, because it was just such a bad experience for him. So we will never get a super directors cut, they probity don't even have the hours of film they shot for the movie anymore.
I totally agree. Lynch's Dune is one of the very few best sci-fi epic films ever made. It has a true artistic approach and heart that is not easy to find in big budget mainstream cinema. But it will always be also one of those rare works whose filmmaker is not happy with the final cut. Same thing with Kubrick's Spartacus. I'd love to see also Dune 2 and 3 from Lynch but this will never happen, cause it would be like asking from Tarkovsky to make a sequel to Solaris. So lets be happy and content that this masterpiece exists, even though Lynch does not approve. On the other hand, one can still find and watch the Unauthorized Extended Edition of Dune, that first came out in 2006 as a special Steelbook Dvd, with many new scenes incorporated. Whatever the case, better stick to the original cut, it's still a grand work of art in itself.
Dune is one of my favorite novels from all time AND the David Lynch version is one of my favorite films... So, watching this footage is pretty much like watching a treasure been made. Thank you very much Sean for sharing this footage with us!!!!
Kyle's hair is the most unbelievable thing in Dune. Imagine keeping that hair as you trek through a desert. Where was he getting the water and conditioner?
Thank you! DUNE is an underappreciated gem. Loved it and still love it, both versions. Some can say what they want, but a lot of people put their blood, sweat, and tears into this production and it shows from the epic set design to the performances.👍
Seans voice has a unique timbre that I love. I could just listen to it all day. I'm a huge fan of Dune and so are many of my friends, it's full of excellent actors, excellent sets and the Toto soundtrack is simply outstanding. You can tell it's a Labour ov Love. I don't see why people call it a faiure (do they still? Do they really?). Maybe it was just bad timing or too intellectual a book to make a movie of for the wider audience, at least at that time? I'm so very happy it got made though. Well, anyway, thank you Chani for this lovely video and for being part of making Dune.
Here is Patrick Stewart talking about his conversation with Sting during the filming of Dune. It's pretty funny! ;-) ua-cam.com/video/Fb_LO7gJo-4/v-deo.html

True. I'm a piano player, people still ask me to play this song, and it isn't easy either
The problem with the music in this video is that it's loud and distracts over your voice (which is much preferable to the piano).
And also makes it seem like the movie was made a century ago. Then again I doubt she could have gotten clearance for the actual soundtrack but youtube has an ok collection of music nowadays.

it's a classic catchy tune and it totally fits.

@Star Lord I think after a certain point, professional musicians hate playing music since it's considered "work" to them. Can't blame them.
Sean you were great in this film. It's one of my favorites. "Tell me of your homeworld Usul!" :)
Is this to test me whether I'm a lesbian or a replicant Mr. Deckard?
Oops wrong movie.
This is my favorite movie of all time! was life changing!
Gracias to everyone involved
We need a re release in theatres.
"Long live the fighters"
They are great actors but I would say they couldn't save Dudge Dredd with Sylvester Stallone. eeeeeeeeek
Yeah, it's worth watching again just to see Sean's and Francesca's beauty. The fact is that they completely ruined Chani and Jessica.
"Tell me of your home world Usul"
The seventh seal.
@@howardchambers9679 advise you to see The Virgin Spring if you haven't. Another Bergman-Sydow flick set in the middle ages.
One of the greatest science fiction films ever. It's criminal that this movie never got the respect and recognition it deserves.
Blasted Heath maybe because its based on a monster novel. As a fan of the book, i didn't like the adaptation
The movie is boring as hell. Read up on ''Jodorowsky's Dune'' and be amazed what it could've been like.
and to think if Dune made money, Lynch was on board to make the next two books (Dune Messiah and Children of Dune). I would have loved to see Lynch's adaptation of Dune God Emperor.
Jodorowsky's Dune would have been an art-project. It looked very promosing and might have been a stunning ScFi movie but with hardly any connection to the original story.
absolute crap hated it fucked up the story line could have been fantastic .
This is awesome, Sean!
Dune is one of my favorite films, and one of the most epic and ambitious sci-fi films of all time. Sean was terrific as Chani and it's great to see this behind the scenes footage that she put together! Apparently 13 people don't agree that the spice must flow....
I didn't know her character was Max's daughter either. Interesting.
The spice must flow, but we also must be careful with messianic leaders. In this adaptation nobody warned us about that.
@@Stephen64138 Sean Young -> Zendaya may be the biggest downgrade in the history of films
@@GooseGumlizzard Oh... I don't think we have to look very far..
Max Von Sydow -> Sharon Duncan-Brewster
Ya mean... ^^
To hear a well know movie star say that is awesome.
I never have a problem listening to Scott Joplin's Ragtime classics.
Love the music. Reminds me of The Sting. Thanks for the video
@msyPARIAH
Hello Sean, I noticed some people's comments bothered you... but please don't worry about that, the music was very effective and I felt like I have been in that era for that moment... so we can't expect everyone to be on the same boat... but you got people who appreciate it... thanks for the footage... I loved it!
msyPARIAH I doubt this still active for you? You are a person, first and foremost, I have admired and appreciated your performances in films.. if you are still out there I do get the difference of a character or a role, and the person, hope you and yours are well
I can't believe I have only just found this! I have been 'Dune' crazy for almost Thirty years. I wore out two VHS, I have three CD's, one audio book on cassette, a digital download & that many copies of the book I have lost count.Plus all the sequels and preludes.
Sean young, well, You are a babe if ever I saw one. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing this film
A Beautiful peek behind the scenes of a great movie and a great cast sadly some are not with us anymore ,, thank you Sean
Thank you.
Was not expecting that flash from Francesca Annis at all!
I never expected to liv to see Francesca Anni's whites...
Oh! I'll Miss Caladan!
Yea, I agree. This IS priceless. Probably just a bit of fun with a Super 8 camera back then, but add up the time that has passed and this becomes even more remarkable. Again, thanks for taking the time to post this. I'm still a fan by the way. You do you.
That was great Sean! Brought back so many happy memories and to see everyone as they were then too was such a rare treat. So glad you did this. XXOO
Thank you for not only sharing this footage but for sharing your truth and being a sincere, genuine human. Not many of those in Hollyweird. I admire your bravery and tenacity.
It’s a great reminder to take photos and videos of all the good times.
Sci Fi channel did...like 10 years ago...in fact 3 movies...a good job of it too
+ProtoGuy Denis Villenuve is directing a new Dune movie, and there is a script for 2-part movie, or more if needed (as he stated). Why not give him a chance?
These are actually priceless recordings.Thank you for that. This movie is my nostalgia all time favourite
How have I never seen this? This is so special, so beautifully personal. I love all the smiles, thank you Sean Young.
A wonderful story before its time. Still love and watch the film. Almost 37 years ago, a better time. You were perfect for Chani's role. Stay forever young. Thx for sharing.
Thanks Sean for sharing this wonderful film and look behind the scenes of a great film. Really appreciated and loved your work!
I keep coming back to DUNE. It was really special and will never be made again in the same classy way.
Let's see what Denis Villenueve can do with it. Keep your fingers crossed... 🤞🏽😊
I trust him.
@@Christopher_1775 Nope.
This was wonderful and fun to watch. Thanks for sharing it! What an amazing experience that must have been.
I LOVE that you captured this footage - plus all your Blade Runner polaroids. It's like you invented Social Media posts before they existed!
What wonderful memories.
Much love and peace.
One of the most underrated moviess ever.
What a delightful video to find, not as a Dune fan, but a Sean Young Fan. Tender is the night, Stripes and of course, Blade Runner.
That’s amazing thank you for this lovely and nostalgic piece xx
Id watch at least another hour
Dune will always be special to me because even tho I was in elementary school some part of my brain latched on to David Lynch and his sensibilities and never let go. Thank you for posting this, Sean. Cheers and hope youre keeping safe.
This is a great video you posted Sean. I still love watching Dune.
Thanks for sharing the footage.
what a wonderful candid little film you made seeing every one smile and be happy, love Jürgen Prochnows little trip and smile. thank you for sharing
Dune is still one of the best movies I have in my collection. And over the years i have bought Dune 9 times as it has changed from VHS to DVD and directors cut etc.
Sean you are an incredible beauty and talent, be well!
AWESOME! One of my FAVORITE movies! Thank you for sharing! I would LOVE to see more! :)
i Watch it each week...sometimes each day...reminds me my childhood and what a great story...ambiance.thanks for sharing your memories!!!
I love this film, an incredible cast, costumes, and set design.
I saw Dune when I was 13. Still the only movie that handed you a cheat sheet before you entered the theater so you understood what everything meant.
SteelCurtain222 I forgot about that until I read your post. I was 16 at the time and it was bizarre to me. Have since come to like it.
+SteelCurtain222 I was 10 when it came out and never saw it, maybe cause I thought it would be too scary. But I remember seeing the posters of it at the shopping centres and thought it looked cool, kinda Star Wars like.
Ha!...I thought I was the only person to remember that
I saw it a few years after it came out in the UK, on TV, I was probably about 7 years old and I absolutely loved it although I didn't understand it!
That cheat sheet would have helped! I saw it on cable when I was a teen. Was hard to follow since I had not read the book or anything.
Very cool raw footage! I remember watching this movie too many times while I was growing up in the 80's. Bet you could still rock that suit! Where's my Chani?
Sean thank you for posting this wonderful personal film. Big fan. Loved you in "No Way Out". Stay healthy!
Thankyou Sean!!! Seeing some of the actors off set in costume was cool as heck!
Thanks again!✌
Nobody was allowed to be around Silvana. She had her own Make up room and was basically guarded so nobody had much contact with her. It was a Dino thing...
You should release audio commentaries of your movies. These tidbit are fascinating !!!
In light of recent events this is kinda how it always should be.
So crazy cause she’s beyond a minor character in the film.
@@esteban9115 But she was a " Cult " star in Italy ...... a Kind of a legend ...
I've seen this move so many times and I had to Google to see who she was in Dune.. Siân Phillips on the other hand, very memorable.
HAHAHAHAH......I M SHOURE BUT YOUR BOUTH ARE GENIUSES BY YOUR RIGHTS,.....
I actually loved this movie and cast, glad you had a chance to capture some behind the scenes footage.
FWIW you were awesome in Ace Ventura.
Corona virus is killing Hollywood, I think its time for you to put the final nail in the coffin with a tell all. Wadda ya say, Sean?
@@gandalfgrey91 Wow, first of all that is a shit thing to say.
If you hate hollywood so much why do you follow it so closely?
Second no normal person would care about any 'tell all', that is often reserved for half wits.
It is because of people like you that most normal stars shy away from the rest of the public.
Sean, you're the frickin best! We love you always and forever.
Thanks Sean! You have a great voice
Thank-you for posting this wonderful behind the scenes look. Love the background music.
I love you Sean, wishing you nothing but the best of the best.
I'm too young to really remember Dune properly, but I thought this little behind the scenes piece was beautifully done. Thank you, Sean!
Sean, this is amazing, thank you for sharing this with us!

(Just realised I’m about 10 years too late with my comments )
Fear is the mind-killer has stayed with me forever. I know every word to the movie. This is my favorite movie. And I have no idea how many times I've seen it I've actually lost count. Thank you again you're one of the best parts in the movie. I thought you were super cool. And I still do.
Sean! I know this is 10 years later but I am a huge fan. You have such charm and talent that seems effortless. Thank you for this.
Better than the most "making of" stuff they put on DVD. Thank you!
Still one of my favorite films. Don't see enough of you, Sean. Btw, you were great in The Alienist as well.❤🙏
I always loved this movie and felt it never got the recognition it deserved.
Wow! Thank you for that. I love the books and I love the movie. This is a great treat :)
I guess it was just too "weird" and perhaps kinky for the mainstream audience.
sjforester81 You either get it or you don't for many reasons and factors, a shame really some are just missing out.
+sjforester81 This is how I feel watching it now.
I think it speaks on a hidden level, like Lynch was tapping into some ancient realm or essence we can't sense.
I thought it was great movie also.
Steve Forester I always picture what I read in Dune with the movie here. The tone and color schemes always felt fitting with the atmosphere of Dune.
I remember watching this movie around midnight in Brea, Ca. I was the only one in the theater and I felt like I was watching the greatest sci-fi movie ever. I still cannot understand why it made so little money upon initial release.
We had a good crowd in our theater and it was well received by the audience. Was years before I heard it didn't make money.
I had the pleasure of seeing Sean Young briefly in Sedona Arizona during a annual film convention approx 1998. She was wearing a pair of angel wings I recall and very beautiful I instantly recognized her and had no idea she was in Sedona.
I was living in Sedona during that time period
Just watched Dune Part 2 recently. A great film.
As is the Lynch film. Can’t imagine how challenging it was to craft the film
Such a monumental collective effort.
Sean thank you for sharing these videos and aspects of your creative life. Much love and respect.
It's wild seeing this. This has been my favorite movie since I was a kid. It never gets old. Thank you.
Its a bit surreal to see Jose Ferrer, *Emperor Shaddam IV.*, all casual like that. :D
They should cast Sean Young as Lady Jessica in the new Dune movie.
More like Lady Helen Gaius
Wow. Thank you for uploading this. Dune has always been one of my favorite movies, so it's nice to get an inside look at the cast and crew.
Dune is one of the greatest sci-fi flicks of all time! Thanks for sharing Sean!
Goes up to Sting with a camera
"I will film you!"
Patrick Stewart has definitely been on the spice, hardly aged.
I think he stopped aging somewhere around... Excalibur. 😊🥇
True.... love patrick... but tbh he looked 75 at age 35... so maybe thats why he "hasnt aged"... 🤐
ATOMICS!!
I saw his interview where he admitted to that didn't know who is Sting and decide that he playing in police music band
When you reach max level, you stop leveling.
Shame we didn't see more Sean Young in David Lynch films I think she would have been a perfect muse.
Great stuff! Here in 2024 it's great to see these actors!😊
This is great for fans. Sean, love your work in Dune and Kiss before Dying. Plus Blade Runner of course. Thanks.
It's a Kwisatz Haderach thing.
I looooove his look, the Kyle's hair looks sooo 80's but was amazing
And he STILL has that hair. Barely a receding hairline. Not even a bald spot. He must bathe in the same virgin blood Jennifer Lopez does.
_For he is the Kwisatz Haderach!_
The sleeper hath awakened
Sean Young, you are an incredibly beautiful woman, both then and today.
I loved the movie Dune. I bought the VHS and DVD's (standard and extended).
Its an all time classic that will withstand the test of time.
I loved Sting's wild 80's hair in the movie.
Here is Patrick Stewart talking about his conversation with Sting during the filming of Dune. It's pretty funny! ;-)
