My advice is if you're new and someone else in the shop talks to you like you ain't shit, out alpha them. Talk to them like you're above them. Make them hate working there, even if it's the area manager. Take shit from no one

I bought both standard and metric everything. The only time I use standard is for things I build. Definitely if money is an issue, start building your metric setup first. I started buying standard first and then realized everything is metric anymore

I went to school and got certificates too! Everything I've learned has come from actual experience in my field, but going to school for it let me get the connections to get my job in a really nice dealership that started me 17 an hour

@@kobewilson640I never went to a school for experience. All my experience is what I’ve learned over the years. Just got hired at Mercedes benz as lube tech but do plan on going to school and getting my certification

If you're going to be a lube tech and or a mobile mechanic you are going to run into 18 wheelers that are going to need to be greased there's a lot of zerk fittings on them get yourself a double whip that's the hose that goes on the end of your grease gun whether you hand a half a hand operated one or one that is pneumatic and works with air that double whip will save you so much time trying to reach up to them zerks it'll also keep your right or left arm from getting filled with grease that then proceeds to get everywhere in the customer's truck and in your service truck how do I know I was a mobile mechanic lube tech for over 5 years. 😁

The Milwaukee battery grease gun is an absolute beast. Clean, fast, powerful, and long lasting. It's an incredible investment

Oh also a comprehensive high end metric zerk replacement kit, especially if you're working around tractors.

I started with a service cart in Justtires and now I’m moving to a Subaru with the same cart but with a Husky two floor cart, I’m leaving my US general 4 drawer in the shop selling it to a coworker rn
