I love that you take your time to explain your process. I was lucky enough to learn in the kitchen with my mom and grandma. I know a lot of people who didn't. It's special.
Yeah, I learned so much from my mom and grandma, and my dad too. I can't tell you how many times I think of being around 8 and asking my grandma, "Grandma, how do you know when it's done?" And Grandma said, "The nose knows". And it's so true!

Hey Pretty Woman Chris, I love watching you cook and love hearing you talk about the recipes. Reminds me of my Mom cooking those great recipes. Thank you Ms Chris for sharing your love of cooking with all of us. You truly are a joy. Blessings to you and your family.
Thank you Chriscook for this very clear and precise instruction on how to prepare this lovely recipe. I am a type 2 diabetic in England and get so bored with the diabetic dishes shown in healthy eating sites around the the internet. So Chriscook this I will give a go at the weekend. All the best from the UK. Jim.
I love side dish recipes, especially vegetable recipes. I have been looking for a good cabbage recipe and this looks excellent. I am making this for Sunday supper. Thank you, Chris.
Thank you, Ma'am, this looks delicious. I usually roast cabbage (with a little olive oil, salt and pepper) because I didn't know how to cook it like this. Going to try your way soon!
That looks delicious! I usually use either ground beef, or ground pork in my smothered cabbage and add some garlic along with the seasoned salt, but I imagine the bacon gives your cabbage a wonderful flavor, so I'll have to try your recipe. I've sent it to myself. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us.
OMG !!! I made this for dinner tonight and its the best cabbage I've ever tasted even my hubby said it was the best he's ever had. Thank you for sharing.
I like to use extra dark green leaves. Wash them , cut them in strips. Cook in a separate boiler with a little cooking oil until tender. After the white cabbage is done, drain the liquid off green cabbage strips and add to white cabbage. This makes the presentation better and it doesn't affect the taste, just the appearance! Love your dish 😍
I'm in love with your channel Mrs. Chris. I cook cabbage like this, but I also add bell pepper, and celery seed. Your recipes reminds me of my grandmother from Memphis, TN. How I miss her. Thank you Mrs. Chris and keep cooking!!
Great Recipe I dont eat meat so i put the onions in a teaspoon of sesame seed oil mixed with grape seed oil tasted like i added meat really good thank you
Ms. Chris, you have out done your self with your cabbage ! Cabbage is one of my favorite side dishes, or one pot meals. I love dropping small white potatoes on top of my cabbage, while cooking (so good )! Thank you for sharing! As always, blessings to you! Stay encouraged, keep your hands in God's hands!
Thank you, Ms. Chris. I will be trying your smothered cabbage. I'm Austrian, Hungarian decent and we fry it down in a stick of butter, salt, and pepper and of course the onion until it is somewhat browned then we mix in cooked egg noodles. We also sometimes cook in some smoked sausage.
Well thoroughly explained… man’s has cooked many dishes but I struggled on this dish.. I prefer green peas, turkey neck etc.. but the proper instructions will lead a long way.. love miss lady.. thank you🙏🏾
